1 Chama agora, será que há alguém que te responderá?A qual dos santos tu te dirigirás? 2 Porque a raiva mata o homem imprudente. A inveja mata o tolo. 3 Eu já vi uma pessoa tola lançar raízes, mas subitamente amaldiçoei o seu lar.

1 Call out now; is there anyone who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn? 2 For anger kills the foolish; jealousy causes the death of the silly. 3 I have seen a foolish person taking root, but suddenly I cursed his home.

4 Os seus filhos estão longe da segurança, eles são esmagados no portão da cidade. Não há quem lhes resgatem. 5 Os famintos devoraram a sua colheita; eles a tiram até dos espinhos. Os sedentos anseiam pela sua riqueza.

4 His children are far from safety; they are crushed in the city gate. There is no one to rescue them. 5 The hungry eat up their harvest; they even take it from among the thorns. The thirsty pant for their wealth.

6 Porque os problemas não vêm do solo; nem as tribulações vêm do chão; 7 Ao invés disso, a humanidade faz a sua própria tribulação, como as faíscas voam .

6 For difficulties do not come out from the soil; neither does trouble sprout from the ground. 7 Instead, mankind is born for trouble, just as sparks fly upward.

8 Quanto a mim, voltaria para Deus; para Ele, entregaria a minha causa — 9 Ele, que faz coisas grandes e insondáveis, maravilhas inumeráveis. 10 Ele dá chuva à terra e envia água aos campos.

8 But as for me, I would turn to God himself; to him I would commit my cause— 9 he who does great and unsearchable things, marvelous things without number. 10 He gives rain on the earth, and sends water on the fields.

11 Ele faz isto para elevar às alturas aqueles que estão abatidos; para levantar à segurança aqueles que estão de luto. 12 Ele frustra os planos dos astutos, de modo que as suas mãos não possam obter êxito. 13 Ele apanha os sábios na sua própria astúcia; os planos dos perversos logo se findam.

11 He does this in order to set up on high those who are low; to raise to safety those who mourn. 12 He breaks the plans of crafty people, so that their hands cannot achieve success. 13 He traps wise people in their own crafty actions; the plans of twisted people are hurried to their end.

14 Eles encontram trevas durante o dia, e, ao meio dia, tateam como cegos como se fosse à noite. 15 Mas Ele salva os pobres da espada que está na boca deles e as pessoas necessitadas das mãos dos fortes. 16 Assim, o pobre tem esperança e a injustiça tapa a sua própria boca.

14 They encounter darkness in the daytime, and grope at noonday as if it were night. 15 But he saves the poor person from the sword in their mouths and the needy person from the hand of mighty people. 16 So the poor person has hope, and injustice shuts her own mouth.

17 Abençoado é o homem que Deus corrige, portanto, não desprezes a disciplina do Todo Poderoso. 18 Porque Ele fere e ata o ferimento; Ele fere e depois as Suas mãos curam. 19 Ele irá te salvar de seis problemas; e, em sete dificuldades, nenhum mal te tocará.

17 See, blessed is the man whom God corrects; therefore, do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. 18 For he inflicts pain and then binds up; he wounds and then his hands heal. 19 He will rescue you out of six troubles; indeed, in seven troubles, no evil will touch you.

20 Na fome, Ele te resgatará da morte; na guerra, do poder da espada. 21 Tu estarás escondido do perigo da língua; e tu não temerás a destruição quando vier. 22 Tu rirás da destruição e da fome; tu não temerás os animais devoradores.

20 In famine he will ransom you from death, and in war from the hands of the sword. 21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and you will not be afraid of destruction when it comes. 22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, and you will not be afraid of beasts of the earth.

23 Porque terás uma aliança com as pedras do teu campo; e os animais selvagens estarão em paz contigo. 24 Tu saberás que a tua tenda está protegida, visitarás o seu aprisco e, nele, nada faltará. 25 Tu saberás também que a tua posteridade será grande e os teus descendentes serão como o capim no solo.

23 For you will have a covenant with the stones in your field, and the beasts of the field will be at peace with you. 24 You will know that your tent is in safety; you will visit your sheepfold and you will not miss anything. 25 You will also know that your seed will be great, that your descendants will be like the grass on the ground.

26 Tu morrerás com uma idade avançada como uma semente que é colhida no tempo certo. 27 Vê, nós já examinamos este caso e assim é, ouve e sabe disso por ti mesmo".

26 You will come to your grave at a full age, like a stack of grain bundles that goes up at its time. 27 See, we have examined this matter; it is like this; listen to it, and know it for yourself."
