1 Deram-me um caniço para usar como uma vara de medir. Disseram-me: "Levanta-te e mede o templo de Deus, o altar e os que nele adoram. 2 Entretanto não meças o pátio externo do templo, pois ele foi dado aos gentios. Eles pisarão a cidade santa por quarenta e dois meses.

1 A reed was given to me to use like a measuring rod. I was told, "Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. 2 But do not measure the courtyard outside the temple, for it has been given over to the Gentiles. They will trample the holy city for forty-two months.

3 Eu darei às minhas duas testemunhas autoridade para profetizar, vestidas de saco, por mil duzentos e sessenta dias". 4 Essas testemunhas são as duas oliveiras e os dois candeiros que estão diante do Senhor da terra. 5 Se alguém tenta lhes causar dano, fogo sairá de suas bocas, devorando os seus inimigos. Qualquer um que desejar lhes causar dano deverá ser morto dessa maneira.

3 I will give my two witnesses authority to prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These witnesses are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that have stood before the Lord of the earth. 5 If anyone chooses to harm them, fire comes out of their mouth and devours their enemies. Anyone who wishes to harm them must be killed in this way.

6 Essas testemunhas têm autoridade para fechar o céu, para que não chova durante o tempo em que elas profetizarem. Elas têm poder para transformar as águas em sangue, e também para ferir a terra com toda sorte de pragas, quantas vezes desejarem. 7 Quando elas concluírem seu testemunho, a besta que sobe do abismo e das profundezas guerreará contra elas. Ela as conquistará e as matará.

6 These witnesses have authority to close up the sky so that no rain will fall during the days that they prophesy. They have power to turn the waters to blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague whenever they wish. 7 When they will have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the bottomless pit will wage war against them. He will conquer them and kill them.

8 Seus corpos ficarão estendidos nas ruas da grande cidade (a qual é chamada simbolicamente de Sodoma e Egito), onde o Senhor delas foi crucificado. 9 Por três dias e meio, pessoas de cada povo, tribo, língua e nação olharão para seus corpos, e não permitirão que sejam sepultados.

8 Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city (which is symbolically called Sodom and Egypt) where their Lord was crucified. 9 For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language, and nation will look at their bodies. They will not permit them to be placed in a tomb.

10 Os que vivem sobre a terra se alegram por causa delas, e celebram e também enviarão presentes uns aos outros, porque esses dois profetas atormentavam os habitantes da terra. 11 Após três dias e meio, um fôlego de vida vindo da parte de Deus entrou neles, e eles ficaram de pé. Grande temor caiu sobre todos os que presenciavam isso. 12 Então ouviram uma forte voz, vinda do céu, e disse-lhes: "Vinde para cá!" Então, eles subiram para o céu numa nuvem, enquanto seus inimigos os contemplavam.

10 Those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate. They will even send gifts to one another because these two prophets tormented those who lived on the earth. 11 But after three and a half days a breath of life from God will enter them, and they will stand on their feet. Great fear will fall on those who see them. 12 Then they will hear a loud voice from heaven say to them, "Come up here!" Then they will go up into heaven in a cloud, while their enemies look on.

13 Naquele momento, ocorreu um grande terremoto, e a décima parte da cidade foi destruída. Sete mil pessoas morreram no terremoto, e os que sobreviveram ficaram aterrorizados e deram glórias ao Deus do céu. 14 O segundo ai passou. Veja! O terceiro ai vem rapidamente.

13 At that hour there will be a major earthquake, and a tenth part of the city will collapse. Seven thousand people will be killed in the earthquake, and the survivors will be terrified and give glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past. Look! The third woe is coming quickly.

15 O sétimo anjo soou sua trombeta e altas vozes falaram no céu, dizendo: "O reino deste mundo tornou-se o Reino do nosso Senhor e do Seu Cristo. Ele reinará para sempre e sempre".

15 Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and loud voices spoke in heaven and said, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever."\m

16 Então os vinte e quatro anciãos que estão sentados em seus tronos, na presença de Deus, prostaram-se no chão, com suas faces abaixadas, e adoraram a Deus, 17 dizendo: "Graças Te damos, Senhor Deus, Todo Poderoso, Aquele que era e que é, porque tomaste Teu grande poder e começaste a reinar. [Algumas cópias trazem: "o Governante sobre tudo, Aquele que é, que era, e que virá"; mas as versões mais modernas não.]

16 Then the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones in the presence of God, fell upon their faces and worshiped God. 17 They said, "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. [[ The best copies of the ancient Greek text have the phrase " who was, and who is, " but some later copies of the Greek add the phrase: " and who is to come " . ]]

18 As nações se enfureceram, mas veio Tua ira. O tempo chegou para que os mortos sejam julgados e para que Tu recompenses Teus servos, os profetas, os santos e todos aqueles que temem o Teu nome, tanto os menores quanto os poderosos. O tempo chegou para que Tu destruas todos os que têm destruído a terra".

18 The nations were enraged,2 but your wrath has come.2 The time has come for the dead to be judged and for you to reward your servants the prophets2 and God's holy people, and those who feared your name,2 both the unimportant and the mighty. The time has come for you to destroy those who are destroying the earth."

19 Então o templo de Deus, que está no céu, foi aberto e a arca de Sua aliança foi vista dentro do templo. Houve relâmpagos, estrondos, trovões, um terremoto e uma grande chuva de granizo.

19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, crashes of thunder, an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.
