1 O justo perece, mas ninguém se importa; as pessoas que são fiéis a Deus são recolhidas e ninguém entende que os justos são retirados da presença do mal. 2 Os justos entram na paz; descansam em suas camas aqueles que andam em retidão.

1 The righteous perish, but no one considers it, and the people of covenant faithfulness are gathered away, but no one understands that the righteous is gathered away from the evil. 2 He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, those who walk in their uprightness.

3 Mas vinde aqui, filhos das feiticeiras, filhos da adúltera e da mulher que se prostituiu. 4 De quem estais zombando? Para quem estais abrindo vossa boca e mostrando a língua? Não sois vós filhos da rebelião e filhos do engano?

3 But come here, you sons of the sorceress, children of the adulterer and the woman who has prostituted herself. 4 Whom are you merrily mocking? Against whom are you opening the mouth and sticking out the tongue? Are you not children of rebellion, children of deceit?

5 Vós ardeis de desejo, juntos, sob os carvalhos, embaixo de toda árvore verde; vós que matais vossos filhos nos vales secos, debaixo das fendas das rochas.

5 You heat yourselves up sleeping together under the oaks, under every green tree, you who kill your children in the dry riverbeds, under the rocky overhangs.

6 Entre as pedras lisas do vale do rio está a tua porção. Verdadeiramente, estas são a tua recompensa. Derramaste tua bebida de sacríficio para elas e levantaste uma oferta de cereal. Teria Eu prazer nestas coisas?

6 Among the smooth things of the river valley are the things that have been assigned to you. They are the object of your devotion. You pour out your drink offering to them and raise up a grain offering. In these things should I take pleasure?

7 Preparaste a tua cama no alto da montanha, e foste lá para oferecer sacrifícios. 8 Colocaste teus símbolos atrás da porta e dos umbrais; tu Me abandonaste; ficaste nu, subiste e alargaste a tua cama. Fizeste uma aliança com eles; amaste a cama deles e viste a sua nudez.

7 You prepared your bed on a high mountain; you also went up there to offer sacrifices. 8 Behind the door and the doorposts you set up your symbols; you deserted me, made yourselves naked, and went up; you made your bed wide. You made a covenant with them; you loved their beds; you saw their private parts.

9 Foste a Moloque, com óleo, e multiplicaste perfumes. [Nota: Em vez de “a Moloque”, algumas versões têm “ao rei”.] Mandaste teus embaixadores para longe; desceste até o Sheol. 10 Tu te cansaste das tuas muitas jornadas, mas nunca disseste: "Não há esperança". Encontraste vida em tuas mãos, por isso não enfraqueceste.

9 You went to Molech with oil and increased your perfumes. [[ Instead of " to Molech " , some scholars emend the Hebrew to read " to the king " . ]] You send your ambassadors far away; you went down to Sheol. 10 You were tired from your long journey, but you never said, "It is hopeless." You found life in your hand; therefore you did not weaken.

11 "Com quem estás preocupado? De quem tens tanto medo para que ajas tão falsamente, a ponto de não te lembrares de Mim ou pensares a Meu respeito? Porque fiquei em silêncio por tanto tempo, não Me temes mais. 12 Eu proclamarei a tua justiça, contarei os teus feitos, mas eles não te ajudarão.

11 "Whom are you worried about? Whom do you fear so much that has caused you to act so deceitfully, so much that you would not remember me or think about me? Because I was silent for so long, you are no longer afraid of me. 12 I will proclaim all your righteous acts and tell all that you have done, but they will not help you.

13 Quando tu clamares, que teus muitos ídolos te salvem. O vento os carregará e um sopro os levará para longe. Mas aquele que se refugia em Mim herdará a terra e possuírá o Meu santo monte.

13 When you cry out, let your collection of idols rescue you. Instead the wind will carry them all away, a breath will carry them all away. Yet he who takes refuge in me will inherit the land and will take possession of my holy mountain.

14 Ele dirá: 'Aplanai, aplanai! Preparai o caminho! Tirai todos os tropeços do caminho do Meu povo!'". 15 Pois assim diz Aquele que é alto e sublime, que habita eternamente, cujo nome é Santo: "Eu habito num alto e santo lugar e também com o contrito e humilde de espírito, para restaurar o espírito dos humildes e reanimar o coração dos contritos.

14 He will say, 'Build, build! Clear a way! Remove all the stumbling blocks from the path of my people!'" 15 For this is what the high and elevated One says, who lives eternally, whose name is holy, "I live in the exalted and holy place, with him also that is of a crushed and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble ones, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

16 Porque não acusarei para sempre, nem ficarei irado o tempo todo, para que o espírito do homem, a vida que Eu criei, não desfaleça diante de Mim. 17 Por causa do pecado do seu ganho injusto, Eu estive irado e o castiguei; escondi a Minha face e Me indignei, mas ele se rebelou e seguiu o caminho do seu coração.

16 For I will not accuse forever, nor will I be angry forever, for then man's spirit would faint before me, the lives that I have made. 17 Because of the sin of his violent gain, I was angry, and I punished him; I hid my face and was angry, but he went backward in the way of his heart.

18 Eu tenho visto os seus caminhos, mas o curarei. Eu o guiarei e o confortarei, e consolarei todos os que lamentaram por ele, 19 trazendo alegria aos lábios. Paz, paz para os de longe e para os de perto — diz Yahweh — Eu os curarei.

18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him. I will lead him and comfort and console those who mourn for him, 19 and I create the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to those who are far off and to those who are near—says Yahweh—I will heal them.

20 Mas os corruptos são como o mar agitado, que não se aquieta, e suas águas lançam lodo e lama. 21 Não há paz para o ímpio — diz Deus".

20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, and its waters churn up mire and mud. 21 There is no peace for the wicked one—says God."
