1 Ai de ti, destruidor que não foste destruído! Ai de ti, traidor que não foste traído! Quando parares de destruir, serás destruído. Quando parares de trair, eles te trairão.

1 Woe to you, destroyer who has not been destroyed!2 Woe to the betrayer whom they have not betrayed! When you stop destroying, you will be destroyed.2 When you stop betraying, they will betray you.

2 Yahweh, sê benevolente conosco; esperamos por Ti! Sê Tu nosso braço a cada manhã, nossa salvação no tempo de tribulação.

2 Yahweh, be gracious to us; we wait for you; be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.

3 Ao grande barulho, os povos fogem; quando Te levantas, as nações se dispersam. 4 Vosso despojo é colhido como os gafanhotos colhem; os homens saltam sobre ele como os gafanhotos saltam.

3 At the loud noise the peoples flee; when you arise, the nations are scattered. 4 Your spoil is gathered as the locusts gather; as locusts leap, men leap on it.

5 Yahweh é exaltado. Ele vive nas alturas. Ele encherá Sião de justiça e retidão. 6 Ele será, ó Sião, a estabilidade em teu tempo, abundância de salvação, sabedoria e conhecimento; o temor de Yahweh é o seu tesouro.

5 Yahweh is exalted. He lives in a high place. He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. 6 He will be the stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of Yahweh is his treasure.

7 Vede! Seus enviados gritam nas ruas; os embaixadores, que esperavam a paz, choram amargamente. 8 As estradas estão desertas, não há mais viajantes. As alianças são quebradas, as testemunhas são desprezadas e a humanidade é desrespeitada.[Nota: Em vez de “as testemunhas são desprezadas”, algumas versões têm: “as cidades são desprezadas”]

7 Look, their envoys cry in the streets; the diplomats hoping for peace weep bitterly. 8 The highways are deserted; there are no more travelers. Covenants are broken, witnesses are despised, and mankind is not respected. [[ Some ancient Hebrew copies have the word for " cities " , but this is seen by many scholars to be a corruption of the more likely Hebrew word for " witnesses " , which is the ULB translation. ]]

9 A terra pranteia e murcha; o Líbano envergonha-se e murcha; [Nota: Algumas versões têm: “A terra se seca e murcha”.] Sarom é como um deserto; Basã e Carmelo perdem suas folhas.

9 The land mourns and withers away; Lebanon is ashamed and withers away; [[ The word " mourns " can be also be read as " dries up " . The two Hebrew words are spelled the same. Isaiah 24:4 is similar, and the meaning there is clearly " dries up " . Sharon is like a desert plain; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.

10 "Agora Me levantarei", diz Yahweh; "Agora serei exaltado! Agora serei elevado! 11 Vós concebeis palha e dais à luz restolho; vosso fôlego é um fogo que vos consumirá. 12 Os povos serão queimados como se queima a cal, como espinheiros que são cortados e queimados.

10 "Now will I arise," says Yahweh; "now I will be lifted up; now I will be elevated. 11 You conceive chaff, and you give birth to stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you. 12 The peoples will be burned to lime, as thornbushes are cut down and are burned.

13 Vós que estais longe, ouvi o que fiz; e vós que estais perto, reconhecei o Meu poder". 14 Os pecadores em Sião temem; o tremor apoderou-se dos ímpios. Quem dentre nós pode habitar com o fogo devorador? Quem dentre nós pode habitar com chamas eternas?

13 You who are far away, hear what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might." 14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can sojourn with a raging fire? Who among us can sojourn with everlasting burnings?

15 Aquele que anda em justiça e fala honestamente, aquele que rejeita o ganho da opressão, aquele que acena com as mãos para não aceitar o suborno, que tapa os ouvidos para não ouvir falar de crimes de sangue, e que fecha os olhos para não contemplar o mal. 16 Esse habitará nas alturas; seu local de defesa será as fortalezas das rochas; sua comida e sua água estarão em constante provisão.

15 He who walks righteously and speaks honestly; who despises the gain of oppression, who shakes his hand so that it will not accept a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed, and who shuts his eyes from looking on evil— 16 this is the man who will dwell on the heights, his place of defense will be the fortress among the cliffs, his food will be given, and his water will be in steady supply.

17 Teus olhos verão o rei em sua beleza, e contemplarão a vasta terra. 18 Teu coração refletirá sobre o terror. Onde está o escriba, onde está aquele que pesou o dinheiro? Onde está aquele que contou as torres? 19 Tu já não verás as pessoas provocadoras, um povo de língua diferente, a quem tu não compreendes.

17 Your eyes will see the king in his beauty; they will see a land off in the distance. 18 Your heart will recall the terror; where is the scribe, where is he who weighed the money? Where is he who counted the towers? 19 You will no longer see the defiant people, a people of a strange language that you do not understand.

20 Olha para Sião, a cidade de nossos banquetes; teus olhos verão Jerusalém como uma habitação calma, como uma tenda cujas estacas não serão arrancadas ou nenhuma de suas cordas arrebentadas: uma tenda que não será removida. 21 Em vez disso, Yahweh, em Sua majestade, estará conosco num lugar de largos rios e córregos, nos quais nenhum barco com remos viajará e nenhum grande navio de guerra navegará.

20 Look at Zion, the city of our feasts; your eyes will see Jerusalem as a quiet habitation, a tent that will not be removed, whose stakes will never be pulled up nor will any of its cords be broken. 21 Instead, Yahweh in majesty will be with us, in a place of broad rivers and streams. No warship with oars will travel it, and no large ships will sail by.

22 Porque Yahweh é o nosso juiz, Yahweh é o nosso legislador, Yahweh é o nosso rei; Ele nos salvará.

22 For Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh is our lawgiver, Yahweh is our king; he will save us.

23 As tuas cordas estão frouxas; elas não podem segurar o mastro em seu lugar, não podem estender a vela. Quando o grande despojo for dividido, até os coxos levarão sua parte. 24 O povo não dirá: "Estou doente", pois o povo que vive ali terá sua iniquidade perdoada.

23 Your riggings are slack; they cannot hold the mast in place; they cannot spread the sail; when the great spoil is divided, even the lame will drag off the spoil. 24 The inhabitants will not say, "I am sick;" the people who live there will be forgiven for their iniquity.
