1 "Consolai, consolai Meu povo", diz vosso Deus. 2 "Falai com ternura a Jerusalém; proclamai a ela que sua guerra terminou, que sua iniquidade está perdoada, que ela, por todos os seus pecados, recebeu em dobro da mão de Yahweh".

1 "Comfort, comfort my people," says your God. 2 "Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received double from Yahweh's hand for all her sins."

3 Uma voz clama: "No deserto, preparai o caminho de Yahweh; fazei uma estrada reta no deserto para o nosso Deus". [Nota: Algumas versões modernas e antigas trazem "Uma voz clama no deserto..."] 4 Todo vale será levantado; toda montanha e colina será nivelada; a terra acidentada será feita plana e os lugares íngremes serão aplanados; 5 a glória de Yahweh será revelada e todos juntos a verão, pois assim a boca de Yahweh falou.

3 A voice cries out, "In the wilderness prepare the way of Yahweh; make straight in the Arabah a highway for our God." [[ Some older English translations have " A voice cries out in the wilderness " which follows Matthew 3:3. ]] 4 Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; and the rugged land will be made level, and the rough places a plain; 5 and the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, and all people will see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.

6 Uma voz diz: "Clama!". Outra responde: "O que eu deveria clamar?". "Toda carne é relva e toda a sua fama é como a flor do campo. 7 A relva seca e a flor murcha quando o fôlego de Yahweh sopra sobre elas; certamente, a humanidade é relva. 8 A relva seca, a flor murcha, mas a palavra do nosso Deus permanecerá para sempre".

6 A voice says, "Cry." Another answers, "What should I cry?" "All flesh is grass, and all their covenant faithfulness is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers and the flower wilts when the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely humanity is grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God will stand forever."

9 Vai para uma alta montanha, Sião, portadora das boas notícias. 9 Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news. [[ Instead of " Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news " , some modern translations have " You who are bearing good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain " . ]] Shout out loud, Jerusalem. You who bring good news, raise your voice, do not be afraid. [[ Some modern translations have " Jerusalem, proclaimer of good news " . Some other modern translations have " proclaim good news to Jerusalem " . ]] Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!" 10 Look, the Lord Yahweh comes as a victorious warrior, and his strong arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and those he has rescued go before him.

11 Ele alimentará Seu rebanho como um pastor; reunirá, em Seus braços, os cordeiros e os carregará perto de Seu coração; mansamente, conduzirá as ovelhas que amamentam seus filhotes.

11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather in his arm the lambs, and carry them close to his heart, and will gently lead the ewes nursing their young.

12 Quem já mediu as águas na concha de Sua mão, mediu a expansão do céu a palmos, conteve o pó da terra em uma cesta, pesou as montanhas com balanças ou as colinas com pratos?

12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured the sky with the span of his hand, held the dust of the earth in a basket, weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?

13 Quem compreendeu a mente de Yahweh, ou O instruiu como Seu conselheiro? 14 De quem Ele já recebeu instrução? Quem O ensinou a fazer coisas corretas, ou Lhe ensinou a sabedoria, ou Lhe mostrou o caminho do entendimento?

13 Who has comprehended the mind of Yahweh, or instructed him as his counselor? 14 From whom did he ever receive instruction? Who taught him the correct way to do things, and taught him knowledge, or showed to him the way of understanding?

15 Vede! As nações são como uma gota em um balde; são consideradas como pó nas balanças. Vede! Ele pesa as ilhas como um grão de poeira. 16 O Líbano não é combustível suficiente, nem os animais selvagens são bastantes para serem queimados como ofertas. 17 Todas as nações são insuficientes diante Dele; elas são consideradas por Ele como nada.

15 Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded like the dust on the scales; see, he weighs the isles as a speck. 16 Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor its wild animals sufficient for a burnt offering. 17 All the nations are insufficient before him; they are regarded by him as nothing.

18 A quem, então, comparareis Deus? A qual ídolo O comparareis? 19 Um ídolo, que um artesão molda, o ourives o cobre de ouro e forja correntes de prata para ele. 20 A fim de fazer uma oferta, alguém escolhe uma madeira que não apodrece e procura um artesão habilidoso para fazer um ídolo que não tombe.

18 To whom then will you compare God? To what idol will you liken him? 19 An idol! A craftsman casts it: The goldsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it. 20 To make an offering one chooses a wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan to make an idol that will not fall over.

21 Por acaso vós não sabeis? Não tendes ouvido? Isso não vos foi dito desde o início? Não entendestes desde a fundação da terra? 22 Ele é o que Se assenta acima do horizonte da terra; os habitantes são como gafanhotos diante Dele. Ele estende os céus como uma cortina e os espalha como uma tenda para nela habitar.

21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 He is the one who sits above the horizon of the earth; and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to live in.

23 Ele reduz os governantes a nada; torna insignificantes os juízes da terra. 24 Mal foram plantados, mal foram semeados, mal seus caules firmam raízes na terra, quando Ele sopra sobre eles, então murcham e o vento os leva como palha.

23 He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth insignificant. 24 They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem has barely taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them and they wither, and the wind carries them away like straw.

25 "A quem, então, Me comparareis? A quem Me assemelho?", diz o Santo. 26 Olhai para o céu! Quem criou todas essas estrelas? Ele faz sair o exército delas e chama todas pelo nome. Pela grandeza de Sua força e pelo vigor de Seu poder, nenhuma delas se perde.

25 "To whom then will you compare me, whom do I resemble?" says the Holy One. 26 Look up at the sky! Who has created all these stars? He leads out their formations and calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power, not one is missing.

27 Por que dizes, Jacó, e declaras, Israel: "Meu caminho está escondido de Yahweh", e "Meu Deus não está preocupado com o meu direito"? 28 Por acaso não sabes? Não ouviste? O eterno Deus, Yahweh, o Criador dos confins da terra, não Se cansa nem Se fatiga; não há limite para o Seu entendimento.

27 Why do you say, Jacob, and declare, Israel, "My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my God is not concerned about my vindication"? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.

29 Ao cansado, Ele dá força, e ao fraco, restaura o vigor. 30 Até os jovens se cansam e fatigam, e os moços tropeçam e caem. 31 Mas aqueles que esperam por Yahweh renovarão suas forças; eles subirão com asas como águias; correrão e não se cansarão; caminharão e não se enfraquecerão.

29 He gives strength to the tired; and to the weak he gives renewed energy. 30 Even young people become tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall: 31 but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will soar with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.
