1 "Calai-vos diante de Mim, terras costeiras; que as nações renovem suas forças; que se aproximem e falem; ajuntemo-nos para discutir uma questão. 2 Quem instigou aquele que vem do leste, chamando-o em justiça para o Seu serviço? Ele lhe entrega nações e o ajuda a subjugar reis; com a sua espada, Ele os faz como pó; com o seu arco, Ele os faz como a palha levada pelo vento.

1 "Listen before me in silence, you coastlands; let the nations renew their strength; let them come near and speak; let us come near together to argue a dispute. 2 Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and helps him subdue kings. He turns them to dust with his sword, like windblown stubble with his bow.

3 Ele os persegue e passa adiante deles em segurança, percorrendo com agilidade um caminho que seus pés pouco tocaram. 4 Quem realizou e completou esses feitos? Quem convocou as gerações desde o princípio? Eu, Yahweh, o primeiro e com os últimos, Eu o Sou.

3 He pursues them and passes by safely, by a swift path that his feet scarcely touch. 4 Who has performed and accomplished these deeds? Who has summoned the generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the first, and with the last ones, I am he.

5 As ilhas viram isso e temeram; os confins da terra tremem; eles se aproximam e vêm chegando. 6 Cada um ajuda o seu próximo e todos dizem um para o outro: 'Sê corajoso'. 7 Assim o carpinteiro encoraja o ourives, e o que trabalha com o martelo encoraja o que trabalha com a bigorna, dizendo acerca da solda: 'É boa'. Eles a prendem com pregos para que não tombe.

5 The isles have seen and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they approach and come. 6 Everyone helps his neighbor, and every one says to one another, 'Be encouraged.' 7 So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith, and he who works with the hammer encourages him who works with an anvil, saying of the welding, 'It is good.' They fasten it with nails so it will not topple over.

8 Mas tu, Israel, Meu servo, Jacó, a quem Eu escolhi, descendência de Abraão, Meu amigo, 9 tu, a quem Eu trouxe de volta dos confins da terra, a quem Eu chamei de lugares distantes e a quem Eu disse: 'Tu és Meu servo', Eu te escolhi e não te rejeitei.

8 But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham my friend, 9 I took you from the ends of the earth and called you from the farthest places, saying to you, 'You are my servant.' I have chosen you and I have not rejected you.

10 Não temas, pois Eu sou contigo. Não fiques ansioso, pois Eu sou teu Deus. Eu te fortalecerei e te ajudarei; Eu te sustentarei com a Minha mão direita de justiça.

10 Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, and I will help you, and I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

11 Vê, todos que estavam irados contra ti ficarão envergonhados e desonrados; aqueles que se opõem a ti serão como o nada e perecerão.

11 See, they will be ashamed and disgraced, all who have been angry with you; they will be as nothing and will perish, those who oppose you.

12 Tu procurarás e não encontrarás aqueles que disputavam contra ti; aqueles que guerreavam contra ti serão como nada, absolutamente nada. 13 Pois Eu, Yahweh, teu Deus, segurarei tua mão direita e te direi: 'Não temas; Eu estou te ajudando'.

12 You will seek and will not find those who contended with you; those who warred against you will be like nothing, absolutely nothing. 13 For I, Yahweh your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Do not fear; I am helping you.'

14 Não temas, vermezinho de Jacó, e vós, homens de Israel; Eu te ajudarei — esta é a declaração de Yahweh, o teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel. 15 Vê, Eu te farei como uma lâmina de debulhar, afiada, nova e com dois gumes; tu debulharás as montanhas e as moerás; tu farás das colinas como palha.

14 Do not fear, Jacob you worm, and you men of Israel; I will help you—this is Yahweh's declaration, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 15 Look, I am making you like a sharp threshing sledge, new and two-edged; you will thresh the mountains and crush them; you will make the hills like chaff.

16 Tu os peneirarás e o vento os levará; o vento os dispersará. Tu te regozijarás em Yahweh e te gloriarás no Santo de Israel.

16 You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away; the wind will scatter them. You will rejoice in Yahweh, you will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

17 Os oprimidos e necessitados procuram água, mas não há; suas línguas estão secas de sede. Eu, Yahweh, responderei às orações deles; Eu, o Deus de Israel, não os abandonarei. 18 Farei os ribeiros fluírem descendo as encostas e as fontes no meio dos vales; transformarei o deserto em um tanque de água e a terra seca, em fontes de água.

17 The oppressed and needy look for water, but there is none, and their tongues are parched for thirst; I, Yahweh, will respond to their prayers; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. 18 I will make streams to flow down the slopes, and springs in the middle of the valleys; I will make the desert into a pool of water, and the dry land into springs of water.

19 No deserto, Eu porei o cedro, a acácia, a murta e a oliveira; no deserto, colocarei pinheiros, ciprestes e buxos. 20 Eu farei isso para que todos vejam, reconheçam e juntos entendam que a mão de Yahweh fez isso, o Santo de Israel criou tudo".

19 In the wilderness I will set the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the olive tree. I will set the cypress in the desert plain, with the pines and the cypress box trees. 20 I will do this so that the people may see, recognize, and understand together, that the hand of Yahweh has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.

21 "Apresentai a vossa causa", diz Yahweh; "Trazei vossos melhores argumentos", diz o Rei de Jacó. 22 Que eles apresentem seus melhores argumentos; que eles se apresentem para nos declarar o que acontecerá, para que saibamos bem acerca dessas coisas. Que eles nos contem predições do futuro, para que possamos refletir sobre elas e saibamos como terão se cumprido.

21 'Present your case,' says Yahweh, 'present your best arguments for your idols,' says the King of Jacob. 22 Let them bring us their own arguments; have them come forward and declare to us what will happen, so we may know these things well. Have them tell us of earlier predictive declarations, so we can reflect on them and know how they were fulfilled.

23 Contai a respeito do futuro, para que saibamos se sois deuses; fazei coisas boas ou más, para que fiquemos espantados e impressionados. 24 Vede, vossos ídolos são nada; vossos feitos são nada; aquele que vos escolhe é abominável.

23 Tell things about the future, that we may know if you are gods; do something good or evil, that we may be frightened and impressed. 24 See, you idols are nothing and your deeds are nothing; the one who chooses you is detestable.

25 "Eu levantei alguém do norte e ele vem; de onde o sol nasce, Eu convocarei aquele que chama pelo Meu nome, e ele pisará os governantes como lama, como um oleiro que pisa o barro. 26 Quem anunciou isso desde o início, para que saibamos? E, antes do tempo, para que disséssemos: 'Ele é justo?'. De fato, nenhum deles decretou nem predisse isso; sim, ninguém vos ouviu dizer coisa alguma.

25 I have raised up one from the north, and he comes; from the sun's rising I summon him who calls on my name, and he will trample the rulers like mud, like a potter who is treading on the clay. 26 Who announced this from the beginning, that we might know? Before this time, that we may say, 'He is right'? Indeed none of them decreed it, yes, none heard you say anything.

27 Eu fui o primeiro que disse a Sião: 'Vede, aqui estão eles'; enviei um arauto a Jerusalém. 28 Quando olho, não há ninguém dentre eles que dê bom conselho, e, quando Eu pergunto, ninguém responde palavra alguma. 29 Vede, todos eles são nada e seus feitos são nada; as suas imagens de metal são vazias como o vento".

27 I first said to Zion, 'Look here they are!' I sent a herald to Jerusalem. 28 When I look, there is no one, not one among them who can give good advice, who, when I ask, can answer a word. 29 Look, all of them are nothing, and their deeds are nothing; their cast metal figures are wind and emptiness.
