1 Uma advertência para a Babilônia, que Isaías, filho de Amoz, recebeu. 2 Levantai uma bandeira em sinal na montanha árida; clamai, em voz alta, para eles; acenai com as mãos para que entrem nas portas dos nobres. 3 Eu dei ordens aos Meus consagrados, sim, Eu chamei Meus poderosos homens para executar a Minha ira, os que se alegram em Me exaltar.

1 A declaration about Babylon, that Isaiah son of Amoz received: 2 On the bare mountain set up a signal flag, cry aloud to them, wave your hand for them to go into the gates of the nobles. 3 "I have commanded my chosen ones; I have summoned my mighty ones to vent my anger— those who rejoice in my triumph.

4 Ouve-se o barulho da multidão nas montanhas, como de muitas pessoas; o som de um tumulto dos reinos, como muitas nações reunidas! Yahweh dos Exércitos está convocando as tropas para a batalha. 5 Eles vêm de um país distante, de além da extremidade do horizonte. Yahweh está com as armas de Sua indignação para destruir toda a terra.

4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of many people! The noise of a tumult of the kingdoms like many nations gathered together! Yahweh of hosts is mustering the army for the battle. 5 They come from a far country, from way over the horizon. It is Yahweh with his instruments of judgment, to destroy the whole land.

6 Uivai, pois o dia de Yahweh está próximo; do Todo-Poderoso, virá a destruição. 7 Portanto, todas as mãos ficarão frouxas e todo coração se derreterá. 8 Ficarão assombrados; dores e aflições os tomarão, como as dores de uma mulher no parto. Olharão atônitos uns para os outros e os seus rostos estarão ardentes como fogo.

6 Howl, for the day of Yahweh is near; it comes with destruction from the Almighty. 7 Therefore all hands hang limp, and every heart melts. 8 They will be terrified; pain and agony will seize them, like a woman in labor. They will look in astonishment at one another; their faces will be aflame.

9 O dia de Yahweh vem com furor cruel, transbordando de ira ardente, para pôr a terra em assolação e para destruir os pecadores que nela estão. 10 As estrelas do céu e suas constelações não darão sua luz. O sol será escurecido desde a aurora, e a lua não resplandecerá.

9 See, the day of Yahweh comes with cruel wrath and overflowing anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy the sinners from it. 10 The stars of heaven and the constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened even from dawn, and the moon will not shine.

11 Eu castigarei o mundo por sua maldade e os corruptos por sua iniquidade. Colocarei fim à arrogância dos orgulhosos e abaterei a arrogância dos perversos. 12 Farei os homens serem mais escassos que ouro puro, e a humanidade mais difícil de achar que o ouro fino de Ofir.

11 I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity. I will put an end to the arrogance of the proud and will bring down the arrogance of the ruthless. 12 I will make men more rare than fine gold and mankind harder to find than the pure gold of Ophir.

13 Portanto, farei os céus tremerem, e a terra será sacudida do seu lugar, pelo furor de Yahweh dos Exércitos, no dia da fúria de Sua ira. 14 Como uma corça perseguida ou como uma ovelha sem pastor, assim todo homem voltará em direção ao seu próprio povo e fugirá para a sua terra.

13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place, by the fury of Yahweh of hosts, and on the day of his fierce anger. 14 Like a hunted gazelle or like a sheep with no shepherd, every man will turn toward his own people and will flee to his own land.

15 Todo aquele que for achado será morto, e todo aquele que for capturado morrerá pela espada. 16 Suas crianças serão despedaçadas diante de seus olhos; suas casas serão saqueadas e suas esposas, violentadas.

15 Every one who is found will be killed, and every one who is captured will die by the sword. 16 Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be plundered and their wives raped.

17 Eis que estou prestes a incitar os guerreiros da Média para atacá-los, os quais não terão interesse na prata nem se deleitarão com ouro. 18 Seus arcos despedaçarão os jovens. Não terão pena dos bebês e não pouparão as crianças.

17 Look, I am about to stir up the Medes to attack them, who will not be concerned about silver, nor do they delight in gold. 18 Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants and they will not look with pity on children.

19 Então, a Babilônia, a mais admirada dos reinos, o esplendor do orgulho dos caldeus, será devastada por Deus, como Sodoma e Gomorra. 20 Não será povoada nem habitada, geração após geração. O árabe não armará ali a sua tenda, nem os pastores farão descansar os seus rebanhos nela.

19 Then Babylon, the most admired of kingdoms, the splendor of Chaldean pride, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah. 20 It will not be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation. The Arab will not pitch his tent there, nor will shepherds have their flocks rest there.

21 Mas os animais selvagens do deserto repousarão ali. Suas casas se encherão de corujas; avestruzes e cabras selvagens pularão ali. 22 As hienas uivarão nos seus castelos, e os chacais, nos seus lindos palácios. Bem perto está o tempo dela; os seus dias não tardarão.

21 But wild animals of the desert will lie there. Their houses will be full of owls; and ostriches and wild goats will skip about there. 22 Hyenas will cry in their fortresses, and jackals in the beautiful palaces. Her time is near, and her days will not be delayed.
