1 Deus lembrou-se de Noé, de todos os animais selvagens e de todos os animais domésticos que estavam com ele na arca. Deus fez soprar um vento sobre a terra, e as águas começaram a recuar. 2 As fontes do abismo e as comportas do céu fecharam-se, e parou de chover. 3 As águas recuavam continuamente sobre a terra. Depois de cento e cinquenta dias, as águas tinham diminuído consideravelmente.

1 God considered Noah, all the wild animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters started going down. 2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were closed, and it stopped raining. 3 The flood waters went down slowly from the earth, and after the end of 150 days the waters had gone down.

4 A arca parou no sétimo mês, no décimo sétimo dia, sobre as montanhas de Ararate. 5 As águas continuaram a recuar até o décimo mês. No primeiro dia do décimo mês, os picos das montanhas apareceram.

4 The ark came to rest in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to go down until the tenth month. On the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared.

6 Sucedeu que, ao final de quarenta dias, Noé abriu a janela da arca que ele havia feito 7 e soltou o corvo, que ia e voltava, até que as águas se secaram sobre a terra.

6 It came about after forty days that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made. 7 He sent out a raven and it flew back and forth until the waters were dried up from the earth.

8 Então ele enviou uma pomba para ver se as águas haviam recuado sobre a face da terra, 9 mas a pomba não encontrou lugar onde pousar. Então ela retornou para Noé na arca, porque as águas ainda cobriam toda a terra. Ele estendeu sua mão, segurou-a e a trouxe para dentro da arca com ele.

8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the waters had gone down from the surface of the earth, 9 but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, for the waters were still covering the whole earth. He reached out with his hand, and took and brought her into the ark with him.

10 Ele esperou outros sete dias e novamente soltou a pomba para fora da arca. 11 A pomba retornou para ele ao entardecer, e eis que ela trazia no bico uma folha de oliveira recém colhida. 12 Assim, Noé soube que as águas tinham diminuído sobre a terra. Ele esperou ainda outros sete dias e soltou a pomba novamente. Ela não retornou mais para ele.

10 He waited another seven days and again he sent out the dove from the ark. 11 The dove returned to him in the evening. Look! In her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had gone down from the earth. 12 He waited another seven days, and sent out the dove again. She did not return again to him.

13 Sucedeu que, no primeiro dia do primeiro mês do ano seiscentos e um, as águas secaram sobre a terra. Noé removeu a cobertura da arca, olhou para fora e eis que a face da terra estava seca. 14 No segundo mês, no vigésimo sétimo dia, a terra estava seca.

13 It came about in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from off the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ark, looked out, and saw that, behold, the surface of the ground was dry. 14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.

15 Deus disse a Noé: 16 "Sai da arca, tu e tua mulher, teus filhos e as mulheres de teus filhos contigo. 17 Faz sair toda criatura viva de toda carne, tanto aves como animais domésticos, e todo animal rastejante que se arrasta sobre a terra, para que eles possam se reproduzir, frutificar e multiplicar sobre a terra".

15 God said to Noah, 16 "Go out of the ark, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons' wives with you. 17 Take out with you every living creature of all flesh that is with you—the birds, the animals, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth—so that they may increase greatly on the earth, that they may be fruitful and multiply upon the earth."

18 Então, Noé saiu com seus filhos, sua mulher e as mulheres de seus filhos. 19 Todas as criaturas vivas: as aves, os animais domésticos, os animais selvagens e todo animal rastejante, conforme as suas famílias, deixaram a arca.

18 So Noah went out with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives with him. 19 Every living creature, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, according to their families, left the ark.

20 Noé construiu um altar para Yahweh. Ele tomou alguns dos animais limpos e alguns passáros limpos e ofereceu holocaustos sobre o altar. 21 Yahweh sentiu o aroma suave e disse em Seu coração: "Eu não tornarei a amaldiçoar a terra por causa do homem, apesar das intenções do seu coração serem más desde a infância, e nem tornarei a destruir todo vivente, como Eu acabo de fazer. 22 Enquanto a terra permanecer, semeadura e colheita, frio e calor, verão e inverno, dia e noite não cessarão".

20 Noah built an altar to Yahweh. He took some of the clean animals and some of the clean birds, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 Yahweh smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart, "I will not again curse the ground because of mankind, even though the intentions of their hearts is evil from childhood. Nor will I again destroy everything living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease."
