1 E aconteceu que, quando os homens começaram a se multiplicar sobre a terra e nasceram suas filhas, 2 os filhos de Deus viram que as filhas dos homens eram atraentes e tomaram para si como esposas todas que lhes agradaram. 3 E Yahweh disse: "Meu espírito não permanecerá para sempre no homem, pois é carne, e os seus dias serão cento e vinte anos".

1 It came about when mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were attractive. They took for themselves wives, any of them that they chose. 3 Yahweh said, "My spirit will not remain in mankind forever, for they are flesh. They will live 120 years."

4 Gigantes estavam na terra, naqueles dias e também depois. Isso aconteceu porque os filhos de Deus casaram com as filhas dos homens, e eles tiveram filhos com elas, os quais foram homens valentes, homens de renome.

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward. This happened when the sons of God married daughters of men, and they had children with them. These were the mighty men of old, men of renown.

5 Yahweh viu que grande maldade havia nos homens sobre a terra, e que toda inclinação dos pensamentos de seus corações era continuamente má. 6 E Yahweh lamentou-Se de ter feito o homem na terra, e isso entristeceu Seu coração.

5 Yahweh saw that the wickedness of mankind was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. 6 Yahweh regretted that he had made mankind on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

7 Então Yahweh disse: "Eu vou extinguir da face da terra o homem que criei; tanto a humanidade, quanto os animais maiores, e as coisas rastejantes, e as aves dos céus, pois lamento de tê-los criado". 8 Mas Noé encontrou favor aos olhos de Yahweh.

7 So Yahweh said, "I will wipe away mankind whom I have created from the surface of the earth—mankind and animals, and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of Yahweh.

9 Estes são os eventos concernentes a Noé. Ele era um homem justo, íntegro entre as pessoas da sua época e andava com Deus. 10 Noé se tornou pai de três filhos: Sem, Cam e Jafé.

9 These were the events concerning Noah. Noah was a righteous man, and blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God. 10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 A terra estava corrompida perante Deus,e estava cheia de violência. 12 Deus viu a terra, e eis que estava corrompida, toda a carne tinha corrompido o seu caminho sobre a terra.

11 The earth was corrupt before God, and it was filled with violence. 12 God saw the earth; behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

13 Deus disse a Noé: "Eu vejo que é tempo de pôr um fim em toda a carne, pois a terra está cheia da violência dos homens. De fato, vou destruí-los juntamente com a terra. 14 Faze para ti mesmo uma arca de madeira de cipreste. Faze compartimentos na arca e reveste-a com piche por dentro e por fora. 15 Esta é a forma que irás fazer: o comprimento da arca será de trezentos côvados, a sua largura de cinquenta côvados e sua altura de trinta côvados.

13 God said to Noah, "I can see that it is time to put an end to all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Indeed, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch within and without. 15 This is how you will make it: The length of the ark is to be three hundred cubits; the breadth of it is to be fifty cubits, and the height of it is to be thirty cubits.

16 Farás um teto para a arca e finalizarás com um côvado do topo da lateral. Porás uma porta na lateral da arca. Farás pavimentos: um embaixo, um segundo e um terceiro. 17 Ouve: Eu trarei um dilúvio sobre a terra, para destruir toda carne que tem fôlego de vida debaixo do céu. Tudo o que está na terra morrerá.

16 Make a roof for the ark, and finish it at a cubit from the top of the side. Place a door in the side of the ark and make a lower, a second, and a third deck. 17 Listen, I am about to bring the flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh that has in it the breath of life from under heaven. Everything that is on the earth will die.

18 Mas eu firmarei uma aliança contigo. Tu irás para dentro da arca, e teus filhos, e tua esposa e as esposas de teus filhos contigo. 19 De toda criatura viva, de toda carne, tu deves trazer para dentro da arca dois de cada espécie, macho e fêmea, para mantê-los vivos contigo:

18 But I will establish my covenant with you. You will come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. 19 Of every living creature of all flesh, two of every kind you must bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you, both male and female.

20 das aves conforme suas espécies, dos animais maiores conforme suas espécies, de cada coisa rastejante do chão conforme suas espécies, dois de cada tipo virão a ti, para mantê-los vivos. 21 Armazena todo tipo de comida, pois servirá de sustento para ti e para eles. 22 Então Noé fez dessa forma. De acordo com tudo o que Deus mandou, ele fez.

20 Of the birds after their kind, and of animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort will come to you to keep them alive. 21 Gather for yourself every kind of food that is eaten and store it, so that it will be food for you and for them." 22 So Noah did this. According to all that God commanded him, so he did.
