1 Quando Abrão tinha noventa e nove anos, Yahweh apareceu a Abrão e lhe falou: "Eu sou O Deus Onipotente. Anda na Minha presença e sê perfeito. 2 Então Eu confirmarei Minha aliança contigo e te multiplicarei grandemente".

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless. 2 Then I will confirm my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly."

3 Abrão prostou-se com o rosto em terra e Deus falou-lhe, dizendo: 4 "Quanto a Mim, esta é a Aliança que faço contigo: Tu serás pai de muitas nações. 5 Não mais te chamarás Abrão, mas teu nome será Abraão - porque te constituí para ser pai de uma multidão de nações. 6 Farei que sejas extraordinariamente fecundo, de ti farei nações, e reis descenderão de ti.

3 Abram bowed low with his face to the ground and God talked with him, saying, 4 "As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations. 5 No longer will your name be Abram, but your name will be Abraham—for I appoint you to be the father of a multitude of nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will descend from you.

7 Estabelecerei Minha aliança entre Mim e ti e com a tua descendência, a qual perdurará através de todas as gerações como aliança eterna, para que Eu seja o teu Deus e O de toda a tua descendência. 8 A ti e a tua descendência darei a terra onde tu tens peregrinado, toda a terra de Canaã como uma possessão eterna, e Eu serei vosso Deus".

7 I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you, throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. 8 I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land where you have been living, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God."

9 Ainda disse Deus a Abraão: "Quanto a ti, guarda Minha aliança, tu e a tua descendência por todas as gerações vindouras. 10 Esta é a Minha aliança, a qual tens que manter entre Mim e ti e a tua descendência: Todo homem dentre vós deve ser circuncidado. 11 Circuncidarás a carne do vosso prepúcio, e este será o sinal da aliança entre Mim e vós.

9 Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. 10 This is my covenant, which you must keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you must be circumcised. 11 You must be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and this will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.

12 Todo homem entre vós, da idade de oito dias, deve ser circuncidado, através de todas as vossas gerações. Isso inclui todo aquele que é nascido em vossa casa, aquele que é comprado e qualquer estrangeiro que não for dos vossos descendentes. 13 Aquele que for nascido em vossa casa e que for comprado com vosso dinheiro deverá ser circuncidado. Assim Minha aliança estará marcada em vossa carne como aliança eterna . 14 Qualquer incircunciso que não for circuncidado na carne de seu prepúcio será eliminado de vosso povo, pois ele quebrou minha aliança".

12 Every male among you that is eight days old must be circumcised, throughout your people's generations. This includes him who is born into your household and him who is bought with money from any foreigner who is not one of your descendants. 13 He who is born into your household and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised. Thus my covenant will be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin will be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant."

15 Deus disse a Abraão: "Quanto a Sarai, tua mulher, não a chame mais de Sarai. Em vez disso, seu nome será Sara. 16 Eu a abençoarei e te darei um filho por meio dela. Eu a abençoarei, e ela se tornará a mãe de nações. Reis de povos virão por meio dela".

15 God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, do not call her Sarai any more. Instead, her name will be Sarah. 16 I will bless her, and I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will become the mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her."

17 Então Abraão prostrou-se com o rosto em terra, riu-se e disse em seu coração: "Pode uma criança nascer de um homem de cem anos? Como pode Sara, que tem noventa anos gerar um filho?". 18 Abraão disse para Deus: "Que Ismael viva diante de ti!".

17 Then Abraham bowed low with his face to the ground, and laughed, and said in his heart, "Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? How can Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son?" 18 Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you!"

19 Disse Deus: "Não, porém Sara, tua mulher, te dará um filho, e tu o chamarás Isaque. Estabelecerei Minha aliança com ele, como aliança perpétua e com a sua descendência. 20 Quanto a Ismael, Eu tenho te escutado. Eis que Eu o abençoarei, farei ele fecundo e o multiplicarei abundantemente. Ele será pai de doze líderes de tribos, e Eu farei dele uma grande nação. 21 Porém Minha aliança estabelecerei com Isaque, aquele o qual Sara dará a ti nesta mesma época do próximo ano".

19 God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you must name him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant with his descendants after him. 20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and will multiply him abundantly. He will be the father of twelve princes, and I will make him become a great nation. 21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time in the next year."

22 Quando terminou de falar com ele, Deus retirou-se da presença de Abraão. 23 Então Abraão tomou seu filho Ismael e todos aqueles que nasceram em sua casa, todo homem entre os homens da casa de Abraão, e os circuncidou na carne do prepúcio no mesmo dia, como Deus lhe havia dito.

22 When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham. 23 Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all those who were born into his household, and all those who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in that same day, as God had said to him.

24 Abraão tinha noventa e nove anos, quando lhe foi circuncidada a carne do prepúcio. 25 E Ismael, seu filho, tinha treze anos quando lhe foi circuncidada a carne do prepúcio. 26 No mesmo dia, Abraão e seu filho Ismael foram circuncidados. 27 Todos os homens da sua casa foram circuncidados com ele, incluindo aqueles que nasceram em sua casa e aqueles estrangeiros que foram comprados com dinheiro.

24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 25 Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 26 On the very same day Abraham and Ishmael his son were both circumcised. 27 All the men of his household were circumcised with him, including those born into the household and those bought with money from a foreigner.
