1 Estas são as gerações dos filhos de Noé: Sem, Cam e Jafé; seus filhos nasceram depois do dilúvio.

1 These were the descendants of the sons of Noah, that is, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

2 Os filhos de Jafé foram: Gomer, Magogue, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Meseque e Tiras. 3 Os filhos de Gomer foram: Asquenaz, Rifate e Togarma. 4 Os filhos de Javã foram: Elisá, Társis, Quitim e Dodanim. 5 Os descendentes de Javã repartiram entre si as terras do litoral, e então ocuparam-nas segundo a sua própria língua, de acordo com as suas famílias e nações.

2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites,[[ Some modern English translations read, " Kittim " . ]] and Dodanim. 5 From these the coastland peoples separated and went into their lands, every one with its own language, according to their clans, by their nations.

6 Os filhos de Cam foram: Cuxe, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã. 7 Os filhos de Cuxe foram: Seba, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá. Os filhos de Raamã foram: Sabá e Dedã.

6 The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

8 Cuxe gerou a Ninrode, o qual foi o primeiro a ser poderoso na terra. 9 Ele foi um poderoso caçador diante de Yahweh. Por isso que é dito: "Como Ninrode, um poderoso caçador diante de Yahweh". 10 As principais cidades do seu reino foram Babel, Ereque, Acade e Calné, na terra de Sinar.

8 Cush became the father of Nimrod, who was the first conqueror on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh. That is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before Yahweh." 10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Uruk, Akkad, and Kalneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 Daquela terra, ele partiu para a Assíria e edificou Nínive, Reobote-Ir, Calá 12 e Resém entre Nínive e Calá. Essa era uma grande cidade. 13 Mizraim gerou a Ludim, a Anamim, a Leabim, a Naftuim, 14 a Patrusim, a Casluim (de onde saíram os filisteus) e a Caftorim.

11 Out of that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12 and Resen, which was between Nineveh and Calah. 15 Canaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, and of Heth, 16 also of the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, 17 the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, 18 the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites spread out.

19 O território dos cananeus era de Sidom, em direção a Gerar, até Gaza; indo em direção a Sodoma, Gomorra, Admã e Zeboim, até Lasa. 20 Esses foram os descendentes de Cam com suas famílias, suas línguas, e em suas terras e suas nações.

19 The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, in the direction of Gerar, as far as Gaza, and as one goes toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboyim, as far as Lasha. 20 These were the sons of Ham, by their clans, by their languages, in their lands, and in their nations.

21 Sem, antepassado de todos os filhos de Héber e irmão mais velho de Jafé, também gerou filhos. 22 Os filhos de Sem foram: Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Lude e Arã. 23 Os filhos de Arã foram: Uz, Hul, Geter e Más.

21 Sons also were born to Shem, the older brother of Japheth. Shem was also the ancestor of all the people of Eber. 22 The sons of Shem were Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. 23 The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

24 Arfaxade gerou a Selá; e Selá gerou a Éber. 25 Éber gerou dois filhos. O nome do primeiro foi Pelegue, porque nesses dias a terra foi dividida. O nome de seu irmão foi Joctã.

24 Arphaxad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber. 25 Eber had two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

26 Joctã gerou a Almodá, Selefe, Hazarmavé, Jerá, 27 Hadorão, Uzal, Dicla, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sabá, 29 Ofir, Havilá e Jobabe. Todos esses foram os filhos de Joctã.

26 Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

30 O território deles ia desde Messa até Sefar, incluindo montanhas ao Leste. 31 Esses foram os descendentes de Sem, segundo as suas famílias e suas línguas, em suas terras, e suas nações.

30 Their territory was from Mesha, all the way to Sephar, the mountain of the east. 31 These were the sons of Shem, according to their clans and their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.

32 These were the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations. From these the nations separated and went over the earth after the flood.
