Salmo de Asafe. 1 Cantai, em voz alta, a Deus, nossa força; aclamai de alegria ao Deus de Jacó. 2 Cantai uma canção e tocai o tamborim, a lira prazerosa e a harpa. 3 Tocai a trombeta no dia da lua nova e no dia da lua cheia, quando nossos dias de festa começarem.

For the chief musician; set to the Gittith style. A psalm of Asaph. 1 Sing aloud to God our strength; shout out for joy to the God of Jacob. 2 Sing a song and play the tambourine, the pleasant harp with the lute. 3 Blow the trumpet on the day of the new moon, on the day of the full moon, when our feast day begins.

4 Pois é um estatuto para Israel, um decreto dado pelo Deus de Jacó. 5 Ele ordenou como uma regra a José, quando foi contra a terra do Egito, onde ouvi uma língua que não conhecia.

4 For it is a statute for Israel, a decree given by the God of Jacob. 5 He issued it as a regulation in Joseph when he went against the land of Egypt, where I heard a voice that I did not recognize:

6 "I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were freed from holding the basket. 7 In your distress you called out, and I helped you; I answered you from a dark thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.s Selahs*

8 Escuta, Meu povo, pois Eu estou te advertindo, ó Israel. Se apenas me ouvisses! 9 Não tenhas deuses estranhos no meio de ti; não adores nenhum deus estrangeiro. 10 Eu sou Yahweh, teu Deus, que te trouxe da terra do Egito. Abre a tua boca e Eu a encherei.

8 Listen, my people, for I will warn you, Israel, if you would only listen to me! 9 There must be no foreign god among you; you must not worship any foreign god. 10 I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 Mas Meu povo não ouviu as Minhas palavras; Israel não Me obedeceu. 12 Então, Eu os entreguei à sua própria teimosia, para fazerem o que lhes parecesse certo.

11 But my people did not listen to my words; Israel did not obey me. 12 So I gave them over to their own stubborn way so that they might do what seemed right to them.

13 Ó, se Meu povo Me escutasse! Ó, se Meu povo andasse em Meus caminhos! 14 Então, Eu rapidamente subjugaria seus inimigos e viraria Minha mão contra seus opressores.

13 Oh, that my people would listen to me; oh, that my people would walk in my paths. 14 Then I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their oppressors.

15 Que aqueles que odeiam Yahweh se encolham de medo diante Dele! Que eles sejam humilhados para sempre. 16 Eu alimentaria Israel com o melhor do trigo; Eu te satisfaria com o mel da rocha”.

15 May those who hate Yahweh cringe in fear before him! May they be humiliated forever. 16 I would feed Israel with the finest wheat; I would satisfy you with honey out of the rock."
