1 Aconteceu que, no sexto ano, no sexto mês, no quinto dia do mês, quando me sentei em minha casa e os anciãos de Judá se assentaram diante de mim, novamente, a mão de Yahweh Deus caiu sobre mim. 2 Olhei, e eis que havia algo com a aparência de um homem. Da cintura para baixo, era fogo e, da cintura para cima, era a aparência de algo que brilha, como metal brilhante.

1 So it came about in the sixth year and the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord Yahweh again fell upon me there. 2 So I looked, and behold, there was a likeness with the appearance of a man. From the appearance of his hips downward there was fire. And from his hips upward there was the appearance of something shining, like glowing metal.

3 Então, ele estendeu para mim o que parecia uma mão e pegou-me pelos cabelos da minha cabeça; o Espírito me levantou entre a terra e o céu e, em visões de Deus, ele me levou para Jerusalém, à entrada do portão interior ao norte, onde o ídolo que provoca grande ciúme estava colocado. 4 E eis que a glória do Deus de Israel estava ali, conforme a semelhança que eu havia visto no vale.

3 Then he reached out the form of a hand and took me by the hair of my head; the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and in visions from God, he brought me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the inner northern gate, where the idol that provokes great jealousy was standing. 4 Then behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision I had seen on the plain.

5 Então, Ele me disse: "Filho do homem, levanta os teus olhos para o norte". Então, levantei os meus olhos para o norte e, ao norte do portão que leva ao altar; à entrada, estava o ídolo do ciúme. 6 Ele me disse então: "Filho do homem, vês o que estão fazendo? Estas são grandes abominações que a casa de Israel está fazendo aqui para Me afastar do Meu santuário. Mas tu verás maiores abominações ainda".

5 Then he said to me, "Son of man, lift up your eyes to the north." So I lifted up my eyes to the north, and to the north of the gate leading to the altar, there in the entrance, was the idol of jealousy. 6 So he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing? These are great abominations that the house of Israel is doing here to make me go far from my own sanctuary. But you will turn and see even greater abominations."

7 Então, ele me trouxe à porta do pátio e olhei; havia um buraco na parede. 8 Ele me disse: "Filho do homem, cava nesta parede". Então, cavei na parede e havia uma porta. 9 Então, Ele me disse: "Vai e vê as abominações corruptas que estão fazendo aqui".

7 Then he brought me to the doorway of the courtyard, and I looked, and there was a hole in the wall. 8 He said to me, "Son of man, dig into this wall." So I dug into the wall, and there was a door. 9 Then he said to me, "Go and see the wicked abominations that they are doing here."

10 Então, entrei e olhei, e eis que havia toda a sorte de animais que se arrastam, e de animais abomináveis, e todos os ídolos da casa de Israel estavam esculpidos na parede em todo o derredor. 11 Setenta anciãos da casa de Israel estavam lá e Jazanias, filho de Safã, estava em pé meio deles. Eles estavam em pé diante das imagens e cada um tinha o incensário na mão para que o aroma do incenso subisse em uma nuvem.

10 So I went in and looked, and behold, I saw there portrayed all over the walls every form of creeping things and detestable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel. 11 Seventy elders of the house of Israel were there, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing in their midst. They were standing in front of the images, and each man had his censer in his hand so that the smell of the cloud of incense went up.

12 Ele me disse: "Filho do homem, vês o que os anciãos da casa de Israel estão fazendo nas trevas? Cada um faz isso na câmara oculta do seu ídolo, porque dizem: 'Yahweh não nos vê! Yahweh abandonou a terra'". 13 Então, Ele me disse: "Vira novamente e vê as outras grandes abominações que estão fazendo".

12 He said to me, "Son of man, do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark? Each one does this in the hidden chamber of his idol, for they say, 'Yahweh does not see us! Yahweh has forsaken the land.'" 13 Then he said to me, "Turn again and see the other great abominations that they are doing."

14 Em seguida, levou-me à entrada da porta da casa de Yahweh, que estava no lado do norte, e eis que as mulheres estavam sentadas lá, de luto por Tamuz. 15 Então, disse-me: "Vês isso, filho do homem? Vira de novo e vê ainda maiores abominações do que essas".

14 Next he brought me to the entrance of the gate of the house of Yahweh that was on the north side, and behold! The women were sitting there mourning for Tammuz. 15 So he said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? Turn again and see even greater abominations than these."

16 Ele me pôs no pátio interior da casa de Yahweh e, eis que à entrada do templo de Yahweh, entre o pórtico e o altar, havia cerca de vinte e cinco homens de costas para o templo de Yahweh; com seus rostos para o leste, eles estavam adorando o sol.

16 He brought me into the inner courtyard of the house of Yahweh, and behold! at the entrance of the temple of Yahweh between the portico and the altar, there were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of Yahweh and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun.

17 Ele me disse: "Vês isso, filho do homem? É algo pequeno para a casa de Judá fazer essas abominações que eles estão fazendo aqui? Porque encheram a terra com violência e voltaram a provocar-Me à ira, colocando o ramo aos seus narizes. 18 Assim também Eu agirei entre eles com furor; Meus olhos não terão compaixão e não os pouparão. Ainda que gritem em Meus ouvidos em alta voz, não os ouvirei".

17 He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? Is it a little thing for the house of Judah to do these abominations that they are doing here? For they have filled the land with violence and they have turned again to provoke me to anger, putting the branch to their noses. 18 So I will also act among them; my eye will not have compassion, and I will not spare them. Though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them."
