1 A mão de Yahweh estava sobre mim, Ele me levou pelo Espírito de Yahweh e me colocou no meio de um vale; estava cheio de ossos. 2 Depois, Ele me fez passar ao redor deles; eram muitos no grande vale, e estavam sequíssimos. 3 Ele me disse: "Filho do homem, poderão estes ossos voltar a viver?". E eu disse: "Senhor Yahweh, só Tu o sabes".

1 The hand of Yahweh was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of Yahweh and set me down in the midst of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 Then he made me pass through them round and round. Behold! A great many of them were in the valley. Behold! They were very dry. 3 He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live again?" So I said, "Lord Yahweh, you alone know."

4 Então, Ele me disse: "Profetiza sobre estes ossos e dize-lhes: 'Ossos secos, ouvi a palavra de Yahweh. 5 Assim diz Yahweh Deus a estes ossos: Eis que porei o espírito em vós e vivereis. 6 Colocarei tendões sobre vós e porei carne; revestir-vos-ei de pele e porei em vós o espírito, para que vivais. Então, sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh'".

4 Then he said to me, "Prophesy over these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones. Listen to the word of Yahweh. 5 The Lord Yahweh says this to these bones: Behold! I am about to put breath into you, and you will live. 6 I will place sinews over you and bring flesh onto you. I will cover you with skin and put breath within you so you will live. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.'"

7 Então, profetizei como me fora ordenado; enquanto profetizava, eis que houve um ruído, como de alguma coisa se mexendo. Depois, os ossos se ajuntaram — cada um ao seu osso. 8 Olhei e eis que tendões já estavam neles; a carne cresceu e a pele lhes cobriu; mas ainda não havia neles o espírito.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; as I prophesied, behold, a sound came, that of shaking. Then the bones drew together—bone against bone. 8 I looked and, behold, sinews were now on them, and flesh grew up and skin covered them. But there was still no breath in them.

9 Então, Yahweh me disse: "Profetiza ao espírito, profetiza, filho do homem, e dize-lhe: 'Assim diz Yahweh Deus: Vem dos quatro ventos, ó espírito e assopra nestes mortos, para que vivam". 10 Assim, profetizei como me ordenara; o espírito entrou neles e viveram. Então, ficaram de pé, um exército muito numeroso.

9 Then Yahweh said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Breath, come from the four winds, and breathe on these who have been killed, so they may live.'" 10 So I prophesied as I was commanded; the breath came into them and they lived. Then they stood on their feet, a very great army.

11 Depois, Yahweh me disse: "Filho do homem, estes ossos são toda a casa de Israel. Eis que dizem: 'Nossos ossos secaram, foi-se a nossa esperança. Fomos derrubados'. 12 Portanto, profetiza e dize-lhes: 'Assim diz Yahweh Deus: Eis que abrirei as vossas sepulturas e vos tirarei delas, Meu povo. E vos trarei à terra de Israel.

11 Then Yahweh said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the entire house of Israel. Behold! They are saying, 'Our bones have dried up, and our hope is gone. We have been cut off.' 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I will open your graves and lift you out from them, my people. I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

13 Depois, sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh, quando abrir as vossas sepulturas e vos tirar delas, povo Meu. 14 Porei o Meu Espírito em vós e vivereis, e vos farei descansar na vossa terra, e sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh. Assim declaro e assim farei — esta é a declaração de Yahweh'".

13 Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I open your graves and bring you out from them, my people. 14 I will place my Spirit within you so you will live, and I will cause you to rest in your land when you know that I am Yahweh. I declare and will do it—this is Yahweh's declaration.'"

15 Então, a palavra de Yahweh veio a mim, dizendo: 16 "Agora, pois, pega um pedaço de madeira e escreve nele: 'Para Judá e para todo o povo de Israel, seus companheiros'. Depois, toma outro pedaço de madeira e escreve nele: 'Para José, ramo de Efraim, e para todo o povo de Israel, seus companheiros'. 17 Junta ambos num só pedaço de madeira, para que se tornem um só em tua mão.

15 Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 16 "So now you, son of man, take one stick for yourself and write on it, 'For Judah and for the people of Israel, his companions.' Then take another stick and write on it, 'For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim, and for all the people of Israel, their companions.' 17 Bring both of them together into one stick, so that they become one in your hand.

18 Quando o teu povo falar a ti e disser: 'Não nos revelarás o que estas coisas significam?' 19 Então, dize-lhes: 'Assim diz Yahweh Deus: Eis que levarei o ramo de José, que está na mão de Efraim, e as tribos de Israel, seus companheiros, e os ajuntarei ao ramo de Judá, e serão um só ramo, e se tornarão um só na Minha mão'. 20 Segura, na tua mão, os ramos nos quais escreveste diante dos seus olhos.

18 When your people speak to you and say, 'Will you not tell us what these things of yours mean?' 19 then say to them, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I am taking the branch of Joseph that is in the hand of Ephraim and the tribes of Israel his companions and joining it to the branch of Judah, so that they will make one branch, and they will become one in my hand.' 20 Hold in your hand the branches that you wrote on before their eyes.

21 Declara-lhes: 'Assim diz Yahweh Deus: Eis que estou prestes a tirar o povo de Israel dentre as nações para onde foram; Eu os ajuntarei de todas as terras em derredor e os trarei para sua terra. 22 Farei deles uma só nação na terra, nos montes de Israel, e haverá um só rei, será rei sobre todos eles, e não mais serão duas nações. Não mais estarão divididos em dois reinos. 23 Então, não mais se profanarão com os seus ídolos, nem com suas coisas abomináveis, nem com outros pecados. Porquanto, os livrarei de todas as suas ações de incredulidade com as quais pecaram, e os purificarei. Então, serão Meu povo e Eu serei seu Deus.

21 Declare to them, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I am about to take the people of Israel from among the nations where they went. I will gather them from the surrounding lands and I will bring them to their land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and there will be one king as king over all of them, and they will no longer be two nations. They will no longer be divided into two kingdoms. 23 Then they will no longer defile themselves with their idols, their disgusting things, or any of their other sins. For I will save them from all of their faithless actions with which they have sinned, and I will purify them, so they will be my people and I will be their God. [[ Some ancient translations of the Hebrew copies and most modern translations read in this way: " from all of their faithless actions " . However, the Hebrew text, as it is, is difficult to translate. It reads: " from their dwelling places " , which many think makes little sense in this context. ]]

24 Davi, meu servo, reinará sobre eles. Então, haverá um só pastor sobre eles e andarão segundo os Meus decretos e guardarão os Meus estatutos e os obedecerão. 25 Viverão na terra que dei ao Meu servo Jacó, onde os seus pais habitaram. Nela viverão para sempre, eles, seus filhos e seus netos, porque Davi, Meu servo, será seu líder para sempre.

24 David my servant will be king over them. So there will be one shepherd over them all, and they will walk according to my decrees and they will keep my statutes and obey them. 25 They will live in the land that I have given to my servant Jacob, where your fathers had stayed. They will live in it forever—they, their children, and their grandchildren, for David my servant will be their chief forever.

26 Estabelecerei um acordo de paz com eles. Será um acordo eterno com eles. Irei estabelecê-los e os multiplicarei e colocarei o Meu santo lugar no meio deles para sempre. 27 A Minha habitação será com eles; serei seu Deus, e eles serão Meu povo. 28 Então, as nações saberão que Eu sou Yahweh que santifico Israel, quando o Meu santo lugar estiver no meio deles'".

26 I will establish a covenant of peace with them. It will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will establish them and multiply them and set my holy place in their midst forever. 27 My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 28 Then the nations will know that I am Yahweh who sets Israel apart, when my holy place is among them forever.'"
