1 No décimo primeiro ano, no primeiro dia do mês, a palavra de Yahweh veio a mim, dizendo: 2 "Filho do homem, visto que Tiro falou contra Jerusalém: 'Ah! A porta do povo está destruída! Ela está destruída. Eu vou me enriquecer porque ela está arruinada'.

1 So it was in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, 'Aha! The gates of the people are broken! She has turned to me; I will be filled up because she is ruined.'

3 Por isso, assim declara Yahweh Deus: 'Eu estou contra ti, Tiro, e levantarei contra ti muitas nações, como se levanta uma tempestade no mar. 4 Eles destruirão os muros de Tiro, derrubarão as suas torres. Eu varrerei o seu pó e farei dela uma rocha nua.

3 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Behold! I am against you, Tyre, and I will raise up many nations against you like the sea raises its waves. 4 They will destroy the walls of Tyre and tear down her towers. I will sweep her dust away and make her like a bare rock.

5 Ela será um enxugadouro de redes no meio do mar, pois assim declarei — assim declara Yahweh Deus — e ela servirá de despojo para as nações. 6 Suas filhas que estão nos campos serão mortas com a espada e elas saberão que Eu sou Yahweh'.

5 She will become a place for nets to dry out in the midst of the sea, since I have declared it—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration—and she will become plunder for the nations. 6 Her daughters who are in the fields will be slaughtered by the swords, and they will know that I am Yahweh.'

7 Pois assim diz Yahweh: Eis que, do norte, trago Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, rei dos reis, contra Tiro; com cavalos, carros, cavaleiros e grande multidão. 8 Ele matará tuas filhas nos campos, cercará tua cidade, construirá uma rampa contra teus muros e levantará escudos contra ti.

7 For this is what Yahweh says: Behold, from the north I am bringing Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, against Tyre, with horses and chariots, and with horsemen and a great many people. 8 He will kill your daughters in the field. He will set up a siege work and build a ramp against your walls and raise up shields against you.

9 Ele porá os seus aríetes contra os teus murros e, com seus instrumentos, destruirá as tuas torres. 10 Seus cavalos serão muitos, de modo que o pó deles te cobrirá. Os teus muros serão abalados pelo estrondo dos cavaleiros, das carruagenss e dos carros. Quando ele entrar nos teus portões, entrará como um homem que entra numa cidade com muros derrubados. 11 Com os cascos de seus cavalos, pisará todas as tuas ruas. Ele matará teu povo à espada e as tuas colunas fortes cairão por terra.

9 He will place his battering rams to hit against your walls, and his tools will tear down your towers. 10 His horses will be so many that their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake with the sound of horsemen, wagons, and chariots. When he enters your gates, he will enter as men come into a city whose walls have been broken down. 11 The hooves of his horses will trample all of your streets. He will kill your people with the sword and your mighty stone pillars will fall to the ground.

12 Eles saquearão todas as tuas riquezas e mercadorias; destruirão todos os teus muros e tuas casas luxuosas. Tuas pedras, tua madeira e teu cascalho serão lançados nas águas. 13 Eu silenciarei o ruído das tuas músicas, de modo que a tua harpa não será ouvida mais. 14 Farei de ti uma rocha nua e tu te tornarás como um enxugadouro de redes. Não serás construída novamente, porque Eu, Yahweh Deus, falei — assim declara Yahweh Deus.

12 They will plunder your riches and loot your merchandise. They will tear down your walls and destroy your luxurious homes. Your stones, your timber, and the rubble they will throw into the waters. 13 I will stop the noise of your songs. The sound of your harps will be heard no more. 14 I will make you a bare rock, you will become a place where nets are spread out to dry. You will never be built again, for I, Lord Yahweh have spoken—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.

15 Assim declara Yahweh Deus para Tiro: 'Não estremecerão as ilhas com o estrondo da tua destruição e com os lamentos dos feridos quando a grande destruição estiver no vosso meio? 16 Então, todos os príncipes do mar descerão dos seus tronos, tirarão os seus mantos e despirão suas vestes bordadas. Eles se vestirão com roupas de tremor, assentar-se-ão no chão, estremecerão sem parar e ficarão apavorados por vossa causa.

15 The Lord Yahweh says this to Tyre, 'Will not the islands quake with the sound of your downfall, and with the groans of the wounded when the terrible slaughter is in your midst? 16 Then all the princes of the sea will step down from their thrones and remove their robes and cast off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling, they will sit on the ground and tremble every moment, and they will be appalled because of you.

17 Eles levantarão um lamento contra ti e dirão: Como tu, que eras povoada por mercadores, foste destruída. A famosa cidade, que era muito poderosa — desapareceu do mar. Teus moradores espalharam um terror sobre si mesmos e sobre todos que moravam perto deles. 18 Agora, o litoral estremece no dia da tua queda. As ilhas no mar estão aterrorizadas, porque tu morreste'.

17 They will lift up a lament for you and say to you, How you, who were inhabited by sailors, have been destroyed. The famous city that was so strong—it is now gone from the sea. The ones living in her once spread a terror about themselves upon everyone who lived near them. 18 Now the coasts tremble on the day of your downfall. The islands in the sea are terrified, because you are no longer in your place.'

19 Porque, assim declara Yahweh Deus: Quando Eu fizer de ti uma cidade isolada, como outras cidades desabitadas, quando levantar os abismos contra ti e, quando as vastas águas te cobrirem, 20 então, Eu te abaterei como o povo antigo, como aqueles já lançados na cova, porque te farei habitar nas mais baixas partes da terra como as ruínas dos tempos antigos. Por causa disso, tu não retornarás nem retomarás teu lugar na terra dos vivos. 21 Eu colocarei sobre ti o desastre e já não mais serás. Então, serás procurada, mas não serás achada nunca mais — assim declara Yahweh Deus".

19 For the Lord Yahweh says this: When I make you a desolate city, like the other cities that are not inhabited, when I raise up the deeps against you, and when the great waters cover you, 20 then I will bring you down to the people of ancient times, like the others who have gone down into the pit; for I will make you live in the lowest parts of the earth as in ruins of ancient times. Because of this you will not come back and stand in the land of the living. [[ The expression " and stand in the land of the living " follows the ancient Greek translation. The ancient Hebrew copies have " I will place glory in the land of the living " , which does not seem to fit the context here. ]] 21 I will place disaster on you, and you will be no more forever. Then you will be sought, but you will never be found ever again—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration."
