1 Outra vez, a palavra de Yahweh veio a mim, dizendo: 2 "Filho do homem, profetiza contra os profetas que estão profetizando em Israel e dize-lhes que estão profetizando a partir das suas próprias imaginações. 'Ouvi a palavra de Yahweh. 3 Yahweh Deus diz isto: Ai dos falsos profetas que segue seu próprio espírito, mas não veem nada! 4 Ó, Israel, os seus profetas têm sido como raposas numa terra inóspita.

1 Again, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets who are prophesying in Israel, and say to those who are prophesying out of their own imaginations, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh. 3 The Lord Yahweh says this: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, but who have seen nothing! 4 Israel, your prophets have been like jackals in the wastelands.

5 Tu não subiste às brechas do muro ao redor da casa de Israel para repará-la, para que ela resista à batalha no dia de Yahweh. 6 O povo tem falsas visões e faz falsas previsões; e aqueles que dizem: 'Esta é a declaração de Yahweh'. Yahweh não os enviou; eles, todavia, têm trazido mensagens mentirosas ao povo. 7 Acaso não tivestes falsas visões e falsas previsões, quando dissestes: 'Tal é a declaração de Yahweh', quando Eu não falei isso?'.

5 You have not gone to the breaks in the wall around the house of Israel in order to repair it, in order to resist in battle on the day of Yahweh. 6 The people have false visions and make false predictions, those who say, "Such and such is Yahweh's declaration." Yahweh has not sent them, but they nevertheless have made people hope that their messages would come true. 7 Have you not had false visions and made false predictions, you who say, "Such and such is Yahweh's declaration" when I myself have not spoken?'

8 Portanto, assim diz Yahweh Deus: 'Porque tendes tido falsas visões e tendes mentido, esta é a declaração de Yahweh Deus contra vós: 9 Minha mão será contra os profetas com visões falsas e aqueles com falsas previsões. Eles não estarão na assembleia do Meu povo ou inscritos no registro da casa de Israel; não irão para terra de Israel. Pois sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh Deus!

8 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Because you have had false visions and have told lies—therefore this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration against you: 9 My hand will be against the prophets who have lying visions and who make false predictions. They will not be in the assembly of my people, or enrolled in the record of the house of Israel; they must not go to the land of Israel. For you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh!

10 Por isso, porque eles levam Meu povo a se desviar, dizendo: 'Paz!' quando não há paz, eles constroem uma parede e a rebocam com cal'. 11 Dize àqueles que estão rebocando a parede com cal: 'Esta vai cair; virá uma pancada de chuva e enviarei granizo para derrubá-la e um vento tempestuoso a rachará. 12 Vede, o muro vai cair. Os outros não vos disseram: 'Onde está o cal que foi colocado nele?'.

10 Because of this, and because they led my people astray and said, "Peace!" when there is no peace, they are building a wall that they will paint with whitewash.' 11 Say to those who are whitewashing the wall, 'It will fall down; there will be a downpour of rain, and I will send hailstones to make it fall down, and a windstorm wind to break it down. 12 See, the wall will fall down. Have others not said to you, "Where is the whitewash that you put on it?"

13 Portanto, assim diz Yahweh Deus: Trarei uma tempestade em Meu furor, e, na Minha ira, haverá inundação de chuva! No Meu furor, a chuva de granizo o destruirá completamente. 14 Eu derrubarei a parede coberta com cal e a demolirei, para que seja descoberta a sua fundação. Assim, cairá e vós perecereis no meio dela. E sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh.

13 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: I will bring a windstorm in my rage, and there will be floods of rain in my wrath! Hailstones in my rage will completely destroy it. 14 For I will tear down the wall that you have covered with whitewash, and I will demolish it to the ground and lay bare its foundations. So it will fall, and you will be annihilated in the middle of it all. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.

15 Assim, cumprirei o Meu furor contra a parede e contra aqueles que colocaram cal nela. Eu direi a vós: 'A parede não existe mais e nem o povo que a cobriu com cal, 16 os profetas de Israel que profetizaram acerca de Jerusalém e que tiveram visões de paz para ela. Mas não há paz! — esta é a declaração de Yahweh Deus".

15 For I will annihilate in my fury the wall and those who whitewashed it. I will say to you, "The wall exists no more, nor do the people who whitewashed it— 16 the prophets of Israel who prophesied about Jerusalem and who had visions of peace for her. But there is no peace!—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration."'

17 Então, tu, filho do homem, põe o teu rosto contra as filhas do teu povo, que profetizam de seu próprio entendimento, e profetiza contra elas. 18 E dize: 'Assim diz Yahweh Deus: Ai das mulheres que costuram pulseiras mágicas para todas as juntas das mãos e que fazem véus da medida de suas cabeças, usadas para caçarem o povo. Caçarás o Meu povo, mas salvarás as tuas próprias vidas?

17 So you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own minds, and prophesy against them. 18 Say, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Woe to the women who sew magic charms onto every part of their hand and make veils for their heads of every size, used to hunt down people. Will you hunt down my people but save your own lives?

19 Vós Me profanastes no meio do Meu povo por punhados de cevada e migalhas de pão, para matar o povo que não deveria morrer e para manter vivos os que não deveriam viver, por causa das vossas mentiras para o Meu povo que vos escutava.

19 You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and crumbs of bread, to kill people who should not die, and to preserve the lives of those who should not continue to live, because of your lies to my people who heard you.

20 Portanto, assim diz Yahweh Deus: Estou contra as vossas pulseiras mágicas que são usadas para caçar vidas, como se fossem pássaros. Certamente, Eu as rasgarei de vossos braços; e o povo, a quem caçastes como pássaros, Eu os livrarei. 21 Eu também rasgarei vossos véus e salvarei Meu povo das vossas mãos; e eles nunca mais serão presas em vossas mãos. E vós sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh.

20 Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: I am against the magic charms that you have used to ensnare the people's lives as if they were birds. Indeed, I will tear them from your arms; and the people whom you have trapped like birds—I will let them go free. 21 I will tear away your veils and rescue my people from your hand, so they will no longer be trapped in your hands. You will know that I am Yahweh.

22 Visto que entristecestes o coração das pessoas justas com mentiras, mesmo Eu não desejando isso, e fortalecestes os perversos para não deixarem o seu caminho e salvarem sua vida — 23 portanto, não tereis mais visões falsas nem continuareis a fazer previsões, pois Eu resgatarei o Meu povo das vossas mãos. E sabereis que Eu sou Yahweh'".

22 Because you discourage the heart of the righteous person with lies, even though I did not desire his discouragement, and because you encourage instead the actions of the wicked person so that he will not turn from his way to save his life— 23 therefore you will no longer have false visions or continue to make predictions, for I will rescue my people out of your hand. You will know that I am Yahweh.'"
