1 Então Yahweh disse para Moisés: "Subi até Mim, tu, Arão, Nadabe, Abiú e setenta anciãos de Israel, e me adorareis de longe. 2 Somente Moisés pode vir para perto de Mim. Os outros não deverão chegar perto, nem o povo poderá subir com ele".

1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me—you, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders, and worship me at a distance. 2 Moses alone may come near to me. The others must not come near, nor may the people come up with him."

3 Moisés foi e relatou para o povo toda as Palavras e Decretos de Yahweh. Todo o povo respondeu em uma só voz e disse: "Nós faremos o que a Palavra de Yahweh tem dito". 4 Então Moisés escreveu toda a Palavra de Yahweh. De manhã cedo, Moisés construiu um altar no pé da montanha e arrumou doze pilares de pedra, assim essas pedras representam as doze tribos de Israel.

3 Moses went and told the people all of Yahweh's words and decrees. All the people answered with one voice and said, "We will do all the words that Yahweh has said." 4 Then Moses wrote down all of Yahweh's words. Early in the morning, Moses built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve stone pillars, so that the stones would represent the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 Ele enviou alguns jovens israelitas para ofertar holocaustos e sacrificar ofertas de comunhão de bois para Yahweh. 6 Moisés pegou metade do sangue e colocou dentro de bacias; ele aspergiu a outra metade sobre altar.

5 He sent some Israelite young men to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice fellowship offerings of oxen to Yahweh. 6 Moses took half of the blood and put it into basins; he sprinkled the other half onto the altar.

7 Ele pegou o Livro da Aliança e leu em voz alta para o povo. Ele disse: "Nós faremos o que Yahweh tem falado. Nós seremos obedientes". 8 Então Moisés pegou o sangue aspergiu sobre o povo. Ele disse: "Este é o sangue da Aliança que Yahweh tem feito convosco dando-lhes esta promessa com todas estas Palavras".

7 He took the book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. They said, "We will do all that Yahweh has spoken. We will be obedient." 8 Then Moses took the blood and sprinkled it onto the people. He said, "This is the blood of the covenant that Yahweh has made with you by giving you this promise with all these words."

9 Depois Moisés, Arão, Nadabe, Abiú, e setenta dos anciãos israelitas subiram para a montanha. 10 Eles viram o Deus de Israel. Sob seus pés estava a calçada feita de pedra de safira, tão clara quanto o próprio céu. 11 Deus não estendeu sua mão irada sobre os líderes Israelitas. Eles viram a Deus, e eles comeram e beberam.

9 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel's elders went up the mountain. 10 They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was a pavement made of sapphire stone, as clear as the sky itself. 11 God did not lay a hand on the Israelite leaders. They saw God, and they ate and drank.

12 Yahweh disse para Moisés: "Sobe até Mim na montanha e fica lá. Eu te darei as tábuas de pedra e a Lei e os Mandamentos que Eu tenho escrito, para que tu possas ensiná-los. 13 Então Moisés partiu com Josué, seu assistente, e subiu para a Montanha de Deus.

12 Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and stay there. I will give you the tablets of stone and the law and commandments that I have written, so that you may teach them." 13 So Moses set out with his assistant Joshua and went up the mountain of God.

14 Moisés tinha dito para os anciãos: "Ficai aqui e esperai por nós até que retornemos para vós. Arão e Hur estarão convosco. Se alguém tiver alguma questão ide até eles". 15 Então Moisés subiu até a montanha, e a nuvem o cobriu.

14 Moses had said to the elders, "Stay here and wait for us until we come to you. Aaron and Hur are with you. If anyone has a dispute, let him go to them." 15 So Moses went up the mountain, and the cloud covered it.

16 A glória de Yahweh se estabeleceu no Monte Sinai e a nuvem o cobriu por seis dias. No sétimo dia, Yahweh chamou por Moisés da nuvem. 17 A aparência da glória de Yahweh era como um fogo devorador no topo da montanha aos olhos dos israelitas. 18 Moisés entrou na nuvem e subiu para a montanha. Ele esteve na montanha por quarenta dias e quarenta noites.

16 Yahweh's glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day he called to Moses from within the cloud. 17 The appearance of Yahweh's glory was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the Israelites. 18 Moses entered the cloud and went up the mountain. He was up the mountain for forty days and forty nights.
