1 Se um homem roubar um boi ou uma ovelha e os matar ou vender, então ele deve pagar cinco bois por um boi, e quatro ovelhas por uma ovelha. 2 Se um ladrão for encontrado arrombando uma casa, e, se alguém o ferir e ele morrer, nesse caso nenhuma culpa pelo assassinato será colocado sobre a pessoa que o matar. 3 Mas, se o sol nascer antes que ele arrombe, culpa pelo assassinato será colocada sobre a pessoa que o matou. O ladrão deverá fazer a restituição do que roubou. Se ele não possuir nada, então ele deverá ser vendido por seu roubo. 4 Se o animal roubado for encontrado vivo em sua posse, seja um boi, um jumento ou uma ovelha, ele deverá pagar de volta em dobro.

1 If a man steals an ox or a sheep and kills it or sells it, then he must pay five oxen for one ox, and four sheep for one sheep. 2 If a thief is found breaking in, and if he is struck so that he dies, in that case no guilt for murder will attach to anyone on his account. 3 But if the sun has risen before he breaks in, guilt for murder will attach to the person who kills him. A thief must make restitution. If he has nothing, then he must be sold for his theft. 4 If the stolen animal is found alive in his possession, whether it is an ox, a donkey, or a sheep, he must pay back double.

5 Se um homem levar seu rebanho para pastar em um campo ou em uma vinha e deixar seus animais soltos, e eles pastarem no campo de outro homem, ele deverá fazer a restituição com o melhor de sua própria vinha.

5 If a man grazes his livestock in a field or vineyard and lets his animal loose, and it grazes in another man's field, he must make restitution from the best of his own field and from the best of his own vineyard.

6 Se um incêndio começar e se espalhar entre os espinheiros, de maneira que os grãos colhidos, ou os grãos plantados, ou um campo for consumido, aquele que causou o incêndio deverá fazer a restituição.

6 If a fire breaks out and spreads in thorns so that stacked grain, or standing grain, or a field is consumed, the one who started the fire must surely make restitution.

7 Se um homem der dinheiro e bens a seu vizinho para serem guardados com segurança, e eles forem roubados da casa desse homem, se o ladrão for encontrado, esse ladrão deverá pagar em dobro. 8 Porém, se o ladrão não for encontrado, então o dono da casa deverá apresentar-se diante dos juízes a fim de ver se ele colocou sua própria mão na propriedade de seus vizinho. 9 Para toda disputa, seja por um boi, um jumento, uma ovelha, roupas, ou qualquer outra coisa que tenha sido perdida, sobre a qual alguém diga: "Isto pertence a mim", a causa das duas partes deverá ser apresentada diante dos juízes. O homem a quem o juiz considerar culpado deve pagar o dobro a seu vizinho.

7 If a man gives money or goods to his neighbor for safe keeping, and if it is stolen out of the man's house, if the thief is found, that thief must pay double. 8 But if the thief is not found, then the owner of the house must come before the judges to see whether he has put his own hand on his neighbor's property. 9 For every dispute about something, whether it is an ox, a donkey, a sheep, clothing, or any other missing thing about which one says, "This belongs to me," the claim of both parties must come before the judges. The man whom the judges find guilty must pay double to his neighbor.

10 Se um homem der a seu vizinho um jumento, um boi, uma ovelha ou qualquer animal para guardar e, se este morrer ou se machucar ou for levado sem que ninguém o veja, 11 um juramento a Yahweh deverá ser feito por ambos como forma de verificar se uma pessoa colocou sua mão na propriedade de seu vizinho. O dono deverá aceitá-lo e o outro não fará restituição. 12 Mas, se o animal tiver sido roubado dele, o outro deverá fazer a restituição ao seu dono. 13 Se um animal tiver sido dilacerado, permiti que o outro homem traga o animal como evidência. Ele não terá que pagar pelo que foi dilacerado.

10 If a man gives his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep, and if it dies or is hurt or is carried away without anyone seeing it, 11 an oath to Yahweh must be taken by them both, as to whether or not one person has put his hand on his neighbor's property. The owner must accept this, and the other will make no restitution. 12 But if it was stolen from him, the other must make restitution to the owner for it. 13 If an animal was torn in pieces, let the other man bring the animal as evidence. He will not have to pay for what was torn.

14 Se um homem emprestar qualquer animal de seu vizinho e o animal se machucar ou morrer sem que o dono esteja presente, o outro homem deverá fazer a restituição. 15 Mas, se o dono estiver presente, o outro homem não terá que pagar; se o animal tiver sido alugado, ele será pago por seu valor de locação.

14 If a man borrows any animal from his neighbor and the animal is injured or dies without the owner being with it, the other man must surely make restitution. 15 But if the owner was with it, the other man will not have to pay; if the animal was hired, it will be paid for by its hiring fee.

16 Se um homem seduzir uma virgem que não esteja prometida, e deitar-se com ela, ele deverá certamente torná-la sua esposa pagando o dote requerido. 17 Se seu pai recusar-se completamente a entregá-la, ele deverá pagar o valor equivalente ao dote das virgens.

16 If a man seduces a virgin who is not engaged, and if he lies with her, he must surely make her his wife by paying the bride wealth required for this. 17 If her father completely refuses to give her to him, he must pay money equal to the bride wealth of virgins.

18 Vós não devereis permitir que uma feiticeira viva. 19 Aquele que dormir com um animal certamente deverá ser condenado à morte.

18 You must not allow a sorceress to live. 19 Whoever lies with an animal must surely be put to death.

20 Aquele que sacrificar a qualquer deus que não seja a Yahweh deverá ser completamente destruído. 21 Não devereis maltratar um estrangeiro ou oprimi-lo, pois fostes estrangeiros na terra do Egito.

20 Whoever sacrifices to any god except to Yahweh must be completely destroyed. 21 You must not wrong a foreigner or oppress him, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

22 Não devereis maltratar nenhuma viúva ou órfão. 23 Se porventura os afligirdes, e eles clamarem a Mim, Yahweh, certamente ouvirei o clamor deles. 24 Minha ira se acenderá, e vos matarei ao fio de espada; vossas esposas se tornarão viúvas e vossos filhos se tornarão órfãos.

22 You must not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. 23 If you afflict them at all, and if they call out to me, I will surely hear their call. 24 My anger will burn, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows, and your children will become fatherless.

25 Se emprestardes dinheiro a qualquer um dentre Meu povo que seja pobre, não devereis agir como um credor para com ele ou cobrar dele juros. 26 Se tomardes o manto de seu vizinho como penhor, devereis devolvê-lo antes que o sol se ponha, 27 pois este é o único cobertor para seu corpo; é seu manto para seu corpo. Onde mais ele poderá dormir? Quando ele clamar a Mim, Eu o ouvirei, pois sou compassivo.

25 If you lend money to any of my people among you who are poor, you must not be like a moneylender to him or charge him interest. 26 If you take your neighbor's garment in pledge, you must return it to him before the sun goes down, 27 for that is his only covering; it is his garment for his body. What else can he lie down in? When he calls out to me, I will hear him, for I am compassionate.

28 Vós não devereis blasfemar contra Mim, Deus, nem amaldiçoar o juiz de vosso povo.

28 You must not blaspheme me, God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

29 Vós não devereis reter ofertas de vossa colheita ou de vossos lagares. Devereis Me oferecer vossos primogênitos. 30 Vós fareis o mesmo com vossos bois e vossas ovelhas. Por sete dias, eles ficarão com suas mães, mas, ao oitavo dia, oferecei-os a Mim. 31 Vós sereis povo separado para Mim. Então, não devereis comer carne dilacerada por animais no campo. Em vez disso, devei jogá-la aos cães.

29 You must not hold back offerings from your harvest or your winepresses. You must give to me the firstborn of your sons. 30 You must also do the same with your oxen and your sheep. For seven days they may remain with their mothers, but on the eighth day you must give them to me. 31 You will be people that are set apart for me. So you must not eat any meat that was torn by animals in the field. Instead, you must throw it to the dogs.
