1 Então, Moisés e o povo de Israel entoaram esta canção a Deus. Eles cantaram: "Eu louvo a Yahweh, pois Ele triunfou gloriosamente; o cavalo e seu cavaleiro, Ele lançou ao mar.

1 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to Yahweh. They sang, "I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.

2 Yahweh é minha força e canção, Ele se tornou minha salvação. Este é meu Deus e eu O louvarei, o Deus de meu pai, e eu O exaltarei. 3 Yahweh é um guerreiro. Yahweh é o Seu nome.

2 Yahweh is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. 3 Yahweh is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.

4 Ele lançou ao mar as carruagens de Faraó e seu exército. Os oficiais escolhidos de Faraó foram lançados ao Mar Vermelho. 5 As profundezas os cobriram, desceram às profundezas como pedras.

4 He has thrown Pharaoh's chariots and army into the sea. Pharaoh's chosen officers were drowned in the Sea of Reeds. 5 The depths covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone.

6 Tua mão direita, Yahweh, é gloriosa em poder; Tua mão direita, Yahweh, esmagou o inimigo. 7 Em grande majestade, Tu venceste aqueles que se levantaram contra Ti. Tu enviaste a Tua ira e ela os consumiu como palha. 8 Pelo sopro de Tuas narinas, as águas se amontoaram; as águas correntes se levantaram; as águas profundas se congelaram no coração do mar.

6 Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power; your right hand, Yahweh, has shattered the enemy. 7 In great majesty you overthrew those who rose up against you. You sent out your wrath; it consumed them like stubble. 8 By the blast of your nostrils the waters were piled up; the flowing waters stood upright in a heap; the deep water was congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 O inimigo disse: 'Eu o perseguirei, eu vencerei, eu dividirei os despojos; meu desejo será satisfeito neles; eu conduzirei minha espada; minha mão os destruirá.' 10 Mas Tu sopraste com o Teu vento, e o mar os cobriu; eles afundaram em poderosas águas. 11 Quem entre os deuses é como Tu, Yahweh? Quem é como Tu, majestoso em santidade, honrado em louvores, operando milagres?

9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will share out the plunder; my desire will be satisfied on them; I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.' 10 But you blew with your wind, and the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like you, Yahweh, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, honored in praises, doing miracles?

12 Tu os alcançaste com Tua mão direita e a terra os tragou. 13 Em Tua leal aliança, guiaste o povo que resgataste. Em Tua força, o guiaste para o santo lugar onde Tu vives.

12 You reached out with your right hand, and the earth swallowed them. 13 In your covenant loyalty you have led the people you have rescued. In your strength you have led them to the holy place where you live.

14 Os povos ouvirão e tremerão; o terror alcançará os habitantes da Filístia. 15 Então, os líderes de Edom temerão, os soldados de Moabe tremerão; todos os habitantes de Canaã se abalarão.

14 The peoples will hear, and they will tremble; terror will seize the inhabitants of Philistia. 15 Then the chiefs of Edom will fear; the soldiers of Moab will shake; all the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away.

16 Terror e pavor virão sobre eles; pela força do Teu braço, eles se tornarão como pedra até que Teu povo passe, Yahweh, até que o povo que Tu resgataste tenha atravessado.

16 Terror and dread will fall on them. Because of your arm's power, they will become as still as a stone until your people pass by, Yahweh— until the people you have rescued pass by.

17 Tu os trarás e os plantarás no monte de Tua herança, o lugar, Yahweh, que Tu fizeste para habitares, o santuário, nosso Deus, que Tuas mãos construíram. 18 Yahweh reinará para sempre e sempre".

17 You will bring them and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Yahweh, that you have made to live in, the sanctuary, our Lord, that your hands have built. 18 Yahweh will reign forever and ever."

19 Pois os cavalos de Faraó entraram com suas carruagens e cavaleiros no mar. Yahweh derramou de volta as águas do mar por sobre eles. Porém os Israelitas caminharam por terra seca, no meio do mar. 20 Miriam, a profetisa, irmã de Arão, tomou um tamborim e, com ela, todas as mulheres vieram com tamborins, dançando. 21 Miriam cantou para elas: "Cantai ao SENHOR, pois Ele triunfou gloriosamente. O cavalo e seu cavaleiro Ele lançou ao mar".

19 For Pharaoh's horses went with his chariots and horsemen into the sea. Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them. But the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea. 20 Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron, picked up a tambourine, and all the women went out with tambourines, dancing along with her. 21 Miriam sang to them: "Sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea."

22 Então desde o Mar Vermelho, Moisés guiou Israel adiante. Eles atravessaram pelo deserto de Sur. Viajaram três dias pelo deserto e não encontraram água. 23 Então chegaram a Mara, mas não puderam beber a água de lá, pois era amarga. Por isso chamaram aquele lugar de Mara.

22 Then Moses led Israel onward from the Sea of Reeds. They went out into the wilderness of Shur. They traveled for three days into the wilderness and found no water. 23 Then they came to Marah, but they could not drink the water there because it was bitter. So they called that place Marah.

24 Então o povo murmurou contra Moisés dizendo: "O que podemos beber?" 25 Moisés clamou a Yahweh, e Yahweh lhe mostrou um tronco de árvore. Moisés o lançou às águas, e elas se tornaram doces para beber. Foi nesse lugar que Yahweh lhes deu uma lei estrita e foi ali que Ele os testou. 26 Ele disse: "Se atentamente ouvirdes a Minha voz, Eu, Yahweh, o vosso DEUS, e fizerdes o que for correto aos Meus olhos - e se observardes os Meus mandamentos e obedecerdes às Minhas leis, não porei sobre vós nenhuma das aflições que Eu fiz cair sobre os egípcios; pois Eu sou Yahweh, aquele que vos cura."

24 So the people complained to Moses and said, "What can we drink?" 25 Moses cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a tree. Moses threw it into the water, and the water became sweet to drink. It was there that Yahweh gave them a strict law, and it was there that he tested them. 26 He said, "If you carefully listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, and do what is right in his eyes, and if you give ear to his commands and obey all his laws—I will put on you none of the diseases that I put on the Egyptians, for I am Yahweh who heals you."

27 Então o povo chegou até Elim, onde havia doze nascentes de água e setenta palmeiras. Eles acamparam junto das águas.

27 Then the people came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. They camped there by the water.
