1 Salomão, filho de Davi, se fortaleceu no seu governo e Yahweh, seu Deus, era com ele e o engrandeceu muito.

1 Solomon son of David was strengthened in his rule, and Yahweh his God was with him and made him very powerful.

2 Salomão falou a todo o Israel, aos comandantes de mil e de cem, aos juízes, a todo príncipe em todo o Israel e aos chefes das famílias. 3 Então, Salomão e toda a congregação foram ao lugar alto que estava em Gibeão, pois lá estava a Tenda do Encontro de Deus, que Moisés, o servo de Yahweh, fizera no deserto. 4 Mas, Davi tinha levado a Arca de Deus de Quiriate-Jearim para o lugar que tinha preparado, pois ele tinha levantado uma tenda para ela em Jerusalém. 5 Além disso, o altar de bronze que Bezalel, filho de Uri, filho de Ur, tinha feito, estava diante do Tabernáculo de Yahweh; Salomão e a congregação foram até ele.

2 Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every prince in all Israel, the heads of the fathers' houses. 3 So Solomon and all the assembly with him went to the high place that was at Gibeon, for there was the tent of meeting of God, which Moses the servant of Yahweh, had made in the wilderness. 4 But David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place that he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem. 5 In addition, the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur was there before the tabernacle of Yahweh; Solomon and the assembly went to it. [[ Some of the ancient Hebrew copies have, " the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, he placed there before the tabernacle of Yahweh " , where " he " refers to David. ]]

6 Salomão foi até o altar de bronze, diante de Yahweh, que estava na Tenda do Encontro e ofereceu mil sacrifícios sobre ele. 7 Deus apareceu a Salomão naquela noite e disse-lhe: "Pede! O que tu queres?".

6 Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before Yahweh, which was at the tent of meeting, and offered one thousand burnt offerings on it. 7 God appeared to Solomon that night and said to him, "Ask! What should I give you?"

8 Salomão disse a Deus: "Tu mostraste grande aliança de fidelidade para com meu pai, Davi, e me fizestes rei em seu lugar. 9 Agora, Deus Yahweh, cumpra-se Tua promessa a Davi meu pai, pois Tu me fizeste rei sobre um povo tão numeroso como o pó da terra. 10 Agora, dá-me sabedoria e conhecimento, para que eu possa liderar esse povo, pois quem pode julgar Teu povo, que é tão numeroso?". 11 Deus disse a Salomão: "Porque isso estava em teu coração e porque não pediste por riquezas, bens ou honra, nem pela vida daqueles que te odeiam, nem por uma vida longa para ti, mas porque tu pediste por sabedoria e conhecimento para ti, para que possas governar meu povo, sobre o qual eu te fiz rei, isto é o que te farei.

8 Solomon said to God, "You have shown great covenant faithfulness to David my father, and have made me king in his place. 9 Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be carried out, for you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth. 10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, so that I may lead this people, for who can judge your people, who are so many in number?" 11 God said to Solomon, "Because this was in your heart, and because you have not asked for riches, wealth, or honor, nor for the life of those who hate you, nor for long life for yourself, but you have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you might rule my people, over whom I have made you king, this is what I will do.

12 Sabedoria e conhecimento te darei; Eu também lhe darei riquezas, bens, honra, como nenhum rei teve antes de ti e nenhum outro terá, depois de ti. 13 Então, Salomão saiu de diante da Tenda do Encontro, no lugar alto que estava em Gibeá, veio para Jerusalém e reinou sobre Israel.

12 I will now give you wisdom and knowledge. I will also give you riches, wealth, and honor, as none of the kings had before you, and none after you will have." 13 So Solomon came to Jerusalem from the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting; he reigned over Israel.

14 Salomão reuniu carros e cavaleiros: e ele tinha mil e quatrocentos carros e doze mil cavaleiros e os colocou nas cidades dos carros e junto de si, em Jerusalém. 15 O rei fez com que o ouro e a prata se tornassem tão comuns como as pedras em Jerusalém, e ele fez madeira de cedro tão comum como os sicômoros que há nas terras baixas. 16 Quanto às importações de cavalos do Egito e Coa para Salomão seus mercadores compravam de Coa por um preço determinado. 17 Eles importavam um carro do Egito por seiscentos siclos de prata, e um cavalo por cento e cinquenta siclos. E também exportavam esses carros e cavalos para os reis dos heteus e arameus.

14 Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen, and he had 1,400 chariots and twelve thousand horsemen that he placed in the chariot cities, and with himself, the king in Jerusalem. 15 The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as the stones, and he made cedar wood as common as the sycamore trees that are in the lowlands.

16 As for the importation of horses from Egypt and Kue for Solomon, the king's merchants bought them from Kue at a price. 17 They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for 150 shekels. They also exported them to the kings of the Hittites and the Arameans.
