1 No caso dos filhos de Rúben, o primogênito de Israel — embora Rúben fosse o primogênito de Israel, seus direitos de primogenitura foram dados aos filhos de José, filho de Israel, pois Rúben havia contaminado a cama de seu pai. 1 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel—now Reuben was Israel's firstborn, but his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel because Reuben had defiled his father's couch. So he is not recorded in the genealogy as having the birthright. 2 Judah was the strongest of his brothers, and the leader would come from him. But the birthright was Joseph's— 3 the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel were Hanok, Pallu, Hezron, and Karmi.

4 Os descendentes de Joel foram estes: o filho de Joel foi Semaías. O filho de Semaías foi Gogue. O filho de Gogue foi Simei. 5 O filho de Simei foi Mica. O filho de Mica foi Reaías. O filho de Reaías foi Baal. 6 O filho de Baal foi Beera, a quem Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, levou para o exílio. Beera foi um líder na tribo de Rúben.

4 The descendants of Joel were these: Joel's son was Shemaiah. Shemaiah's son was Gog. Gog's son was Shimei. 5 Shimei's son was Micah. Micah's son was Reaiah. Reaiah's son was Baal. 6 Baal's son was Beerah, whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took into exile. Beerah was a leader in the tribe of Reuben.

7 Os parentes de Beera, por seus clãs, são os seguintes, listados nos seus registros genealógicos: Jeiel, o mais velho, Zacarias, e 8 Belá, filho de Azaz, filho de Sema, filho de Joel. Eles viveram em Aroer, tão longe quanto Nebo e Baal-Meom, 9 e, no lado leste, até o início do deserto, que se estende até o rio Eufrates. Isso porque eles possuíam muito gado na terra de Gileade.

7 His kinsmen according to their clans, enrolled in the genealogy by their generations: Jeiel the leader, Zechariah, 8 and Bela son of Azaz son of Shema son of Joel. They lived in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal Meon, 9 and eastward to the start of the wilderness that extends to the Euphrates River, because their livestock had increased in the land of Gilead.

10 Nos dias de Saul, a tribo de Rúben atacou os hagarenos, e os derrotou. Eles viveram nas tendas dos hagarenos ao longo de toda a terra leste de Gileade.

10 In the days of Saul, the tribe of Reuben attacked the Hagrites and defeated them. They lived in the Hagrites' tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.

11 Os membros da tribo de Gade viveram perto deles, na terra de Basã, até Salca. 12 Seus líderes eram Joel, cabeça de um clã, Safã, cabeça de outro clã, e Janai, e Safate, em Basã. 13 Seus parentes, pelas famílias de seus pais, foram Micael, Mesulão, Sebá, Jorai, Jacã, Ziá e Héber, sete ao todo.

11 The members of the tribe of Gad lived near them, in the land of Bashan as far as Salekah. 12 Joel was their leader; Shapham was second; and Janai and Shaphat in Bashan. 13 Their relatives, by their clans, were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jakan, Zia, and Eber—seven in all.

14 Essas pessoas nomeadas acima foram os descendentes de Abihail, e Abihail foi o filho de Huri. Huri foi o filho de Jaroá. Jaroá foi o filho de Gileade. Gileade foi o filho de Micael. Micael foi o filho de Jesisai. Jesisai foi filho de Jado. Jado foi o filho de Buz. 15 Aí, filho de Abdiel, filho de Guni, foi cabeça da família de seu pai.

14 These persons named above were the descendants of Abihail, and Abihail was the son of Huri. Huri was the son of Jaroah. Jaroah was the son of Gilead. Gilead was the son of Michael. Michael was the son of Jeshishai. Jeshishai was the son of Jahdo. Jahdo was the son of Buz. 15 Ahi son of Abdiel son of Guni, was head of their clan.

16 Eles viveram em Gileade, em Basã e suas terras, e em todas as pastagens de Sarom, até suas fronteiras. 17 Todos esses foram listados pelos registros genealógicos dos dias de Jotão, rei de Judá, e de Jeroboão, rei de Israel.

16 They lived in Gilead, in Bashan, in its towns, and in all the pasturelands of Sharon as far as its borders. 17 All these were listed by genealogical records in the days of Jotham king of Judah and of Jeroboam king of Israel.

18 Os rubenitas, os gaditas, e a meia tribo de Manassés, tinham quarenta e quatro mil soldados treinados para a guerra, que carregavam escudos e espadas, e sacavam o arco. 19 Eles atacaram os hagarenos, Jetur, Nafis e Nodabe.

18 The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 soldiers skilled in battle, who carried shield and sword and who drew the bow, who could go out to war. 19 They attacked the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.

20 Eles receberam ajuda divina contra seus inimigos. 20 They received divine help against them. In this way, the Hagrites and all who were with them were defeated. This was because the Israelites earnestly appealed to God in the battle, and he responded to them, because they put their trust in him. 21 They captured their animals, including fifty thousand camels, 250,000 sheep, two thousand donkeys, and 100,000 men. 22 Many fell because the battle was from God. They lived in their land until the captivity.

23 A meia tribo de Manassés viveu na terra de Basã, até Baal-Hermom, Senir e o monte Hermom. 24 Estes foram os líderes de suas famílias: Éfer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremias, Hodavias e Jadiel. Eles eram homens fortes e corajosos, homens famosos, líderes de suas famílias.

23 The half tribe of Manasseh lived in the land of Bashan as far as Baal Hermon and Senir (that is, Mount Hermon). 24 These were the heads of their clans: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were mighty warriors, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25 Mas eles não foram fiéis ao Deus de seus ancestrais. 25 But they were unfaithful to their ancestors' God. Instead, they acted like prostitutes with the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. 26 The God of Israel stirred up Pul king of Assyria (also called Tiglath-Pileser, king of Assyria). He took into exile the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh. He brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day.
