1 Os descendentes de Judá foram Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur e Sobal. 2 Sobal foi o pai de Reaías. Reaías foi o pai de Jaate. Jaate foi o pai de Aumai e Laade. Esses foram os antepassados que originaram os clãs dos zoratitas.

1 Judah's descendants were Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur, and Shobal. 2 Shobal was the father of Reaiah. Reaiah was the father of Jahath. Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were of the clans of the Zorathites.

3 Estes foram os antepassados que originaram os clãs na cidade de Etã: Jezreel, Ismá e Idbás; e o nome da irmã deles, Hazelelponi. 4 Penuel foi o antepassado que originou os clãs na cidade de Gedor. Ezer foi o que originou os clãs na cidade de Husa. Esses foram os descendentes de Hur, o primogênito de Efrata, que deu origem a Belém.

3 These were the ancestors of the clans in the city of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. Their sister's name was Hazzelelponi. 4 Peniel was the ancestor of the clans in the city of Gedor. Ezer was the originator of the clans in Hushah. These were descendants of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah and the originator of Bethlehem.

5 Asur, o pai de Tecoa, teve duas esposas, Hela e Naara. 6 Naara gerou Auzão, Héfer, Temeni e Haastari; esses foram os filhos de Naara. 7 Os filhos de Hela foram Zerete, Izar, Etnaã 8 e Koz, que foi o pai de Anube, de Zobeba e dos clãs que descenderam de Acarel, filho de Harum.

5 Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah. 6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the descendants of Naarah. 7 Helah's sons were Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan, 8 and Koz, who became the father of Anub and Hazzobebah, and of the clans descended from Aharhel son of Harum.

9 Jabez foi mais respeitado que seus irmãos. Sua mãe o chamou Jabez. Ela disse: "Porque eu o gerei em dores". 10 Jabez clamou ao Deus de Israel e disse: "Que Tu tão somente me abençoes, amplies meu território e que a Tua mão esteja comigo; assim, não serei afligido pelo mal e não terei que suportar a dor!". 9 Jabez was more respected than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez. She said, "Because I bore him in pain." 10 Jabez called out to the God of Israel and said, "If only you would truly bless me, expand my territory, and your hand will be with me. When you do this you will keep me from harm, so that I may be free from pain!" So God granted him his prayer.

11 Quelube, irmão de Suá, gerou Meir, que foi o pai de Estom. 12 Estom gerou Bete-Rafa, Paseia e Teína, que iniciou a cidade de Ir-Naás. Esses foram os homens que viveram em Reca.

11 Kelub brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir Nahash. [[ Some modern translations read " who settled in the town of Nahash " . ]] These were men who lived in Rekah.

13 Os filhos de Quenaz foram Otoniel e Seraías. Os filhos de Otoniel foram Hatate e Meonotai. [[ Most copies of the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew, and the ancient Latin translation of the Hebrew, insert: " Meonothai " into this verse, believing that it was omitted through a copyist's mistake. ]] 14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah, and Seraiah became the father of Joab, the originator of Ge Harashim, whose people were craftsmen. 15 The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah and Naam. Elah's son was Kenaz. 16 Jehallelel's sons were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 Os filhos de Ezra foram Jéter, Merede, Éfer e Jalon. A esposa egípcia de Merede gerou Miriã, Samai e Isbá, que se tornou pai de Estemoa. 18 Esses foram os filhos de Bitia, filha de Faraó, com quem Merede se casou. 17 Ezrah's sons were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. Mered's Egyptian wife [[ The Hebrew does not indicate here who the woman was. We understand from 4:18 that it was Mered's Egyptian wife. ]] conceived and bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, who became the father of Eshtemoa. 18 These were the sons of Bithiah, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married. Mered's Judahite wife bore Jered, who became the father of Gedor; Heber, who became the father of Soko; and Jekuthiel, who became the father of Zanoah.

19 Dos dois filhos da esposa de Hodias, irmã de Naã, um gerou Queila, o garmita; o outro, Estemoa, o maacatita. 20 Os filhos de Simão foram Amnom, Rina, Bene-Hanã e Tilom. Os filhos de Isi foram Zoete e Bene-Zoete.

19 Of the two sons of Hodiah's wife, sister of Naham, one became the father of Keilah the Garmite. The other was Eshtemoa the Maakathite. 20 The sons of Shimon were Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. The descendants of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21 Os descendentes de Selá, filho de Judá, foram Er, pai de Leca, Lada, pai de Maressa, e os clãs dos que fabricavam tecidos em Bete-Asbeia, 22 Joquim, os homens de Cozeba, Joás e Sarafe, que tinham propriedades em Moabe, mas retornaram a Belém. 21 The descendants of Shelah son of Judah, were Er father of Lekah, Laadah father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea, 22 Jokim, the men of Kozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (This information is from ancient records.) 23 These were the potters who lived in Netaim and Gederah and worked for the king.

24 Os descendentes de Simeão foram Nemuel, Jamim, Jaribe, Zerá e Saul. 25 Salum era filho de Saul; Mibsão era filho de Salum; e Misma era filho de Mibsão. 26 Os descendentes de Misma foram seu filho, Hamuel; seu neto, Zacur; e seu bisneto, Simei.

24 Simeon's descendants were Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul. 25 Shallum was Shaul's son, Mibsam was Shallum's son, and Mishma was Mibsam's son. 26 Mishma's descendants were Hammuel his son, Zakkur his grandson, and Shimei his great-grandson.

27 Simei teve dezesseis filhos e seis filhas. Os irmãos dele não tiveram mais filhos; por isso, seus clãs não cresceram em número como o povo de Judá cresceu. 28 Eles viveram em Berseba, Molada e Hazar-Sual.

27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. His brothers did not have many children, so their clans did not increase greatly in numbers as the people of Judah did. 28 They lived at Beersheba, Moladah, and at Hazar Shual.

29 Eles também habitaram em Bila, Ezem, Tolade, 30 Betuel, Hormá, Ziclague, 31 Bete-Marcabote, Hazar-Susim, Bete-Biri e Saraim; essas foram suas cidades até o reino de Davi.

29 They also live at Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad, 30 Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag, 31 Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

32 Their five villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan, 33 together with the outlying villages as far as Baalath. These were their settlements, and they kept the genealogical records.

34 Clan leaders were Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah, 35 Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah son of Seraiah son of Asiel, 36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah, 37 and Ziza son of Shiphi son of Allon son of Jedaiah son of Shimri son of Shemaiah. 38 These mentioned by name were leaders in their clans, and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 Eles foram até o vale no lado leste, próximo a Gedor, para procurar pastagens para seus rebanhos, 40 e encontraram boas e abundantes pastagens. A terra era ampla, tranquila e pacífica. 39 They went near Gedor, on the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks. 40 They found abundant and good pasture. The land was broad, quiet, and peaceable. The Hamites had formerly lived there. 41 These just listed by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and attacked the Hamite tents and the Meunites, who were there also. They completely destroyed them and lived there because they found pasture for their flocks.

42 Quinhentos homens da tribo de Simeão foram ao monte Seir, com seus líderes Pelatias, Nearias, Refaías e Uziel, filhos de Isi. 43 Eles derrotaram os remanescentes dos amalequitas e têm vivido ali até os dias atuais.

42 From them, from the sons of Simeon, five hundred men went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their leader. 43 They defeated the rest of the escaped remnant of Amalekites, and have lived there to this day.
