1 Então, que vantagem têm os judeus? E qual o benefício da circuncisão? 2 É enorme, em todos os sentidos. Primeiramente, aos judeus foi confiada a revelação de Deus.

1 Then what advantage does the Jew have? And what is the benefit of circumcision? 2 It is great in every way. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with revelation from God.

3 E, se alguns judeus foram infiéis, irá a sua infidelidade tornar a fidelidade de Deus inválida? 4 De forma nenhuma. Ao invés disso, que Deus seja verdadeiro, e todo homem seja mentiroso. Como está escrito: "Para que sejas visto como justo em tuas palavras, e que prevaleças quando vieres a julgamento".

3 For what if some Jews were without faith? Will their unbelief nullify God's faithfulness? 4 May it never be. Instead, let God be found to be true, even though every man is a liar. As it has been written, "That you might be shown to be righteous in your words, and that you might prevail when you come into judgment."\m

5 Mas, se nossa injustiça manifesta a justiça de Deus, o que podemos falar? Podemos dizer que Deus é injusto por trazer Sua ira sobre nós? (Falo de acordo com a lógica humana.) 6 De forma nenhuma! Pois, então, como Deus julgaria o mundo?

5 But if our unrighteousness shows the righteousness of God, what can we say? Can we say that God is unrighteous to bring his wrath upon us? (I am using a human argument.) 6 May it never be! For then how would God judge the world?

7 Mas, se a verdade de Deus, através de minha mentira, traz mais louvor para Ele, porque ainda sou julgado como um pecador? 8 E por que não dizemos, como erroneamente alguns afirmam que falamos: "Façamos o mal, para que o bem venha"? A condenação deles é justa.

7 But if the truth of God through my lie multiplies his glory, why am I still being judged as a sinner? 8 Why not say, as we are slandered as saying, and as some affirm that we say, "Let us do evil, so that good may come"? Their condemnation is just.

9 E então? Estamos desculpando a nós mesmos? Absolutamente não. Pois já demonstramos que tanto judeus quanto gregos, todos estão sob pecado, 10 como está escrito: "Não há um justo, nem um sequer".

9 What then? Are we excusing ourselves? Not at all. For we have already accused both Jews and Greeks, all of them, of being under sin.

10 This is as it is written: “No one is righteous, not one;

11 Não há quem entenda. Não há quem busque a Deus. 12 Todos se desviaram, todos juntos se tornaram inúteis. Não há quem faça o bem, nem um sequer.

11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. 12 They have all turned away; together they have become useless. There is no one who does good, no, not even one.”

13 A garganta deles é um sepulcro aberto. Suas palavras enganam. Há veneno de cobras sob seus lábios. 14 Suas bocas estão cheias de maldição e amargura.

13 “Their throat is an open grave. Their tongues have deceived. The poison of snakes is under their lips.” 14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

15 Seus pés se apressam para derramar sangue. 16 Destruição e sofrimento estão em seus caminhos. 17 Eles não conheceram o caminho da paz. 18 Não há temor a Deus diante de seus olhos.

15 "Their feet are swift to pour out blood. 16 Destruction and suffering are in their paths. 17 These people have not known a way of peace." 18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

19 Agora, sabemos que tudo o que a Lei diz é dito aos que estão sob a Lei, para que toda boca possa ser calada e todo o mundo torne-se sujeito ao julgamento de Deus. 20 Porque ninguém será justificado pelas obras da Lei diante Dele. Pois pela Lei vem a consciência do pecado.

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to the ones who are under the law. This is in order that every mouth may be shut, and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 This is because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

21 Mas agora, sem Lei, a justiça de Deus se manifestou testemunhada pela Lei e pelos profetas, 22 isto é, a justiça de Deus, pela fé em Jesus Cristo, para todos os que acreditam. Pois não há distinção.

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been revealed. It was witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe. For there is no distinction.

23 Porque todos pecaram e estão destituídos da Glória de Deus, 24 sendo justificados gratuitamente pela sua graça através da redenção que há em Cristo Jesus.

23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, 24 and they are freely justified by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

25 Pois Deus ofereceu Jesus Cristo como propiciação pelo Seu sangue, por meio da fé. Ele ofereceu Cristo como uma prova da Sua justiça e, em Sua paciência, deixou de punir os pecados cometidos anteriormente. 26 Isso ocorreu como demonstração da Sua justiça no tempo presente, para que Ele seja justo e o justificador de qualquer um que tem fé em Jesus.

25 For God provided Christ Jesus as a propitiation through faith in his blood. He offered Christ as proof of his justice, because of his disregard of previous sins 26 in his patience. This all happened for the demonstration of his righteousness at this present time. This was so he could prove himself just, and to show that he justifies anyone because of faith in Jesus.

27 Onde está o orgulho? Foi excluído. Em qual base? Obras? Não, mas baseado na fé. 28 Nós concluímos, portanto, que uma pessoa é justificada pela fé sem as obras da Lei.

27 Where then is boasting? It is excluded. Through what kind of law? Of works? No, but through a law of faith. 28 We conclude then that a person is justified by faith without works of the law.

29 Ou Deus é apenas Deus dos judeus? Ele não é também Deus dos gentios? Sim, dos gentios também. 30 Se, de fato, Deus é um, Ele justificará a circuncisão pela fé, e a incircuncisão pela fé.

29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not also the God of Gentiles? Yes, of Gentiles also. 30 If, indeed, God is one, he will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.

31 Nós, então, anulamos a lei através da fé? De modo nenhum! Pelo contrário, nós a confirmamos.

31 Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! Instead, we uphold the law.
