1 A respeito do povo amonita, Yahweh diz isto: "Israel não tem filhos? Não há nenhum herdeiro em Israel? Por que Milcom ocupa Gade, e seu povo vive nessas cidades? 2 Esta é a declaração de Yahweh: Vede, dias virão quando Eu soar o sinal da batalha contra Rabá (entre os amonitas), a qual virá a ser um montão de ruínas e suas vilas serão incendiadas. Pois Israel possuirá todos os que o possuíram", diz Yahweh.

1 About the people of Ammon, Yahweh says this, "Does Israel have no children? Is there no one to inherit anything in Israel? Why does Molech occupy Gad, and his people live in its cities? [[ Instead of " Molech " , some modern translations have " their king " . ]] 2 So look, the days are coming—this is Yahweh's declaration—when I will sound the signal for battle against Rabbah among the people of Ammon, so it will become a deserted heap and its villages will be set on fire. For Israel will possess those who possessed him," says Yahweh.

3 Uiva e lamenta, Hesbon, pois Ai será devastada! Gritai, filhas de Rabá! Vesti pano de saco. Lamentai e dai voltas pelos muros, pois Milcom está indo para o cativeiro, junto com seus sacerdotes e líderes. 4 Por que estás orgulhosa da tua força? Tua força escoará pelo caminho, filha rebelde, tu que confias em tua riqueza. Tu dizes: 'Quem virá contra mim?'

3 "Howl in lament, Heshbon, for Ai will be devastated! Shout out, daughters of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth. Lament and run about in futility, for Molech is going into captivity, together with his priests and leaders. 4 Why do you brag about your valleys, your valleys that are so fruitful, faithless daughter? you who trust in your wealth and say, 'Who will come against me?'

5 Vê, Eu estou prestes a trazer terror sobre ti — essa é a declaração de Yahweh, o Senhor dos Exércitos. Esse terror virá de todos os que estão à tua volta. Cada um de vós será disperso diante disso. Não haverá ninguém para reunir todos os que estão fugindo. 6 Mas, depois disso, restaurarei a sorte do povo amonita — essa é a declaração de Yahweh."

5 See, I am about to bring terror on you—this is the declaration of the Lord Yahweh of hosts— this terror will come from all those who surround you. Each one of you will be scattered before it. There will be no one to gather those running away. 6 But after this I will reverse the captivity of the people of Ammon—this is Yahweh's declaration."

7 Sobre Edom, Yahweh dos Exércitos diz isto: "Não há mais sabedoria a ser encontrada em Temã? Os bons conselhos desapareceram para todos os que têm entendimento? Toda sabedoria foi corrompida? 8 Fugi! Retornai! Ficai em buracos no chão, habitantes de Dedã. Pois trarei o desastre de Esaú sobre ele, no momento em que Eu o punir.

7 About Edom, Yahweh of hosts says this, "Is there no longer any wisdom to be found in Teman? Has good advice disappeared from those who have understanding? Has their wisdom become corrupted? 8 Flee! Turn back! Stay in holes in the ground, inhabitants of Dedan. For I am bringing the disaster of Esau on him at the time that I punish him.

9 Se colhedores de uva viessem a ti, eles não deixariam um pouco para trás? Se ladrões viessem à noite, não levariam somente o quanto procuravam? 10 Mas Eu despojei Esaú nu. Revelei seus lugares escondidos. Então, ele não será capaz de se esconder. 9 If grape harvesters came to you, would they not leave a little bit behind? If thieves came in the night, would they not steal only as much as they wanted? 10 But I have stripped Esau bare. I have revealed his hiding places. So he will not be able to hide himself. His children, his brothers, and his neighbors are destroyed, and he is gone. 11 Leave your orphans behind. I will take care of their lives, and your widows can trust in me."

12 Pois Yahweh diz isto: "Vede, todos os que não merecem isso, certamente, devem beber deste copo. Tu pensas que irás livrar-te da punição? Não irás, pois certamente, beberás. 13 Pois Eu tenho jurado por Mim mesmo – esta é a declaração de Yahweh – que Bozra se tornará em horror, em desgraça, em devastação, em objeto de maldição. Todas as cidades se tornarão em devastação, para sempre."

12 For Yahweh says this, "See, those who did not deserve it must certainly drink some of the cup. Do you yourself think you will go without punishment? You will not, for you will certainly drink. 13 For I have sworn by myself—this is Yahweh's declaration—that Bozrah will become a horror, a disgrace, a devastation, and an object for cursing. All of its cities will become devastations forever.

14 Eu ouvi notícias de Yahweh e a mensagem que foi enviada às nações: 'Ajuntai-vos todos e atacai-a. Preparai-vos para a batalha'. 15 "Pois, vede, Eu te fiz pequena, comparada a outras nações, desprezada pelo povo.

14 I have heard news from Yahweh, and a messenger has been sent out to the nations, 'Gather together and attack her. Get ready for battle.' 15 "For see, I have made you small compared to the other nations, despised by people.

16 Quanto ao medo que tens causado, o orgulho do teu coração tem te enganado, tu que habitas nos penhascos, que ocupas as altas colinas, de modo que podes fazer teu ninho como uma águia. Eu te trarei para baixo — esta é a declaração de Yahweh.

16 As for your fearsomeness, your heart's pride has deceived you, inhabitants of places on the cliff, you who have occupied the highest hills so that you may make your nest high like an eagle. I will bring you down from there—this is Yahweh's declaration.

17 Edom se tornará em horror para todos os que passarem por ele. Todos tremerão e assobiarão por causa desses desastres. 18 Como a destruição de Sodoma e Gomorra e suas vizinhas, diz Yahweh, ninguém viverá lá; nenhuma pessoa ficará lá.

17 Edom will become a horror to everyone passing by it. Every such person will tremble and hiss because of all of its disasters. 18 Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, says Yahweh, and no one will live there; no person will stay there.

19 Vede, ele irá para cima como um leão vindo da floresta de verdes pastagens do Jordão. Pois eu, rapidamente, farei Edom correr de lá e colocarei no comando alguém que escolherei. Pois quem é semelhante a Mim e quem Me convocará? Qual pastor é capaz de resistir a Mim?

19 See, he will go up like a lion from the forests of the Jordan to the green pasturelands. For I will quickly make Edom run from it, and I will put someone who will be chosen in charge of it. For who is like me, and who will summon me? What shepherd is able to resist me?

20 Então, escuta os planos que Yahweh decidiu contra Edom, os planos que Ele formou contra os habitantes de Temã. Eles, certamente, serão arrastados no caminho, até mesmo o menor rebanho. Suas pastagens se tornarão em ruínas.

20 So listen to the plans that Yahweh has decided against Edom, the plans that he has formed against the inhabitants of Teman. They will certainly be dragged away, even the smallest flock. Their pasturelands will be turned into ruined places.

21 Ao som de sua queda a terra estremece. O som dos gritos angustiados são ouvidos até o mar Vermelho. 22 Vede, alguém atacará, rapidamente, como uma águia, descerá e abrirá suas asas sobre Bozra. Então, naquele dia, os corações dos soldados de Edom se tornarão como o coração de uma mulher em dores de parto."

21 At the sound of their falling the earth shakes. The sound of distressed shouts is heard at the Sea of Reeds. 22 See, someone will attack like an eagle, and swoop down and spread his wings over Bozrah. Then on that day, the hearts of Edom's soldiers will become like the heart of a woman in birth labor."

23 A respeito de Damasco: "Hamate e Arpade serão envergonhados, pois eles têm ouvido notícias do desastre. Estão assustados! Eles se tornaram perturbados como o mar, que não pode ficar calmo. 24 Damasco se tornou muito frágil. Isso a fez fugir, acometida de terror! Aflição e dor tomou para si, como a dor de uma mulher dando à luz. 25 Como está abandonada a cidade do louvor, a cidade da minha alegria!

23 About Damascus: "Hamath and Arpad will be ashamed, for they have heard news of disaster. They melt away! They become as troubled as the sea, which cannot stay calm. 24 Damascus has become very weak. It turns away to flee; terror seizes it. Distress and pain seize it, like the pain of a woman giving birth. 25 How has the city of praise not been forsaken, the town of my joy?

26 Portanto, esses jovens homens cairão nessas praças e todos os guerreiros perecerão naquele dia — esta é a declaração de Yahweh dos Exércitos 27 Pois, no muro de Damasco, atearei fogo que devorará as fortalezas de Ben-Hadade."

26 Therefore its young men will fall in its plazas, and all the fighting men will perish on that day—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts." 27 "For I will light a fire on the wall of Damascus, and it will devour the strongholds of Ben-Hadad."

28 Sobre Kedar e os reinos de Hazor que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, feriu, Yahweh diz isto: "Levantai e atacai Quedar e destruí todo o povo do Oriente. 29 Eles pegarão suas tendas e seus rebanhos, as cortinas de suas tendas e todo o seu equipamento; seus camelos serão levados e os homens lhes gritarão: 'O terror está ao redor!'

28 About Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, Yahweh says this to Nebuchadnezzar (now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon was going to attack these places): "Arise and attack Kedar and destroy those people of the east. 29 Their tents and their flocks will be taken, along with their tent curtains and all of their equipment; their camels will be led away from them, and men will shout to them, "Terror is on every side!"

30 Fugi! Ide para um caminho distante! Ficai nos buracos no chão, habitantes de Hazor — esta é a declaração de Yahweh — pois Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, idealizou um plano contra vós. Fugi! Retornai! 31 Levantai! Atacai a nação tranquila, que habita em segurança, diz Yahweh. Eles não têm portões ou trancas e seu povo vive por si mesmo.

30 Flee! Wander far away! Stay in holes in the ground, inhabitants of Hazor—this is Yahweh's declaration— for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has devised a plan against you. Flee! Turn back! 31 Arise! Attack the nation at ease, that lives in safety," says Yahweh. "They have no gates or bars in them, and its people live by themselves.

32 Pois seus camelos e a abundância de suas propriedades se tornarão em despojo. Então, Eu espalharei ao vento todos os que cortam as pontas dos seus cabelos e Eu trarei desastre de todos os lados — esta é a declaração de Yahweh. 33 Hazor se tornará um covil de chacais, uma terra permanentemente vazia. Ninguém viverá lá; nenhum ser humano ficará lá."

32 For their camels will become plunder, and the abundance of their property will become war plunder. Then I will scatter to every wind those who cut the corners of their hair, and I will bring disaster on them from every side—this is Yahweh's declaration. 33 Hazor will become a lair of jackals, a permanent wasteland. No one will live there; no human being will stay there."

34 Esta é a palavra de Yahweh que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, sobre Elão. Isto aconteceu no início do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá, e ele disse: 35 ''Yahweh dos Exércitos diz isto: Vede, Eu estou prestes a quebrar o arqueiro de Elão, a fonte do seu poder. 36 Pois Eu trarei os quatro ventos dos quatro cantos da terra e Eu espalharei o povo de Elão ao vento. Não há nação para a qual os que foram dispersos de Elão não irão.

34 This is the word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah the prophet about Elam. This happened at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, and he said, 35 "Yahweh of hosts says this: See, I am about to break the bowmen of Elam, the main part of their power. 36 For I will bring the four winds from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter the people of Elam to all of those winds. There is no nation to which those scattered from Elam will not go.

37 Então, Eu despedaçarei Elão diante dos seus inimigos e diante de todos os que procuram sua vida. Pois Eu trarei desastre contra eles, a fúria da Minha ira — esta é a declaração de Yahweh. 37 So I will shatter Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their lives. for I will bring disaster against them, the fury of my wrath—this is Yahweh's declaration— and I will send the sword after them until I have annihilated them. 38 Then I will put my throne in Elam and will destroy its king and leaders from there—this is Yahweh's declaration— 39 and it will happen in later days that I will reverse the captivity of Elam—this is Yahweh's declaration."
