1 Então, a palavra de Yahweh veio a Jeremias, pela segunda vez, enquanto ele ainda estava preso no pátio da guarda, dizendo: 2 "Yahweh, o Criador que faz estas coisas, que as forma a fim de estabelecê-las, Yahweh é o Seu nome, diz isto: 3 'Clama a Mim e te responderei; revelarei coisas grandes para ti, mistérios que não conheces.'

1 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still shut within the courtyard of the guard, saying, 2 "Yahweh the maker, says this—Yahweh, who forms in order to establish—Yahweh is his name, 3 'Call to me, and I will answer you. I will demonstrate great things to you, mysteries that you do not understand.'

4 Pois Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, diz isto acerca das casas desta cidade, e das casas dos reis de Judá, que foram derrubadas para a defesa contra as rampas de cercos e a espada. 5 Os babilônios estão chegando para lutar e para encher as casas com cadáveres, a quem Eu matarei com Minha ira e fúria, porque escondi Minha face desta cidade, por causa de todas as suas maldades.

4 For Yahweh, God of Israel, says this concerning the houses in this city and the houses of the kings of Judah that are torn down because of the siege ramps and the sword, 5 'The Chaldeans are coming to fight and to fill the houses with corpses of people whom I will kill in my wrath and fury, when I hide my face from this city because of all their wickedness.

6 Mas, vede, Eu estou prestes a trazer saúde e cura, pois Eu irei curá-los e lhes trarei abundância, paz e fidelidade. 7 Eu trarei de volta a sorte de Judá e Israel, e os reedificarei como no princípio. 8 Então, os purificarei de toda maldade que eles cometeram contra Mim; perdoarei todas as iniquidades que praticaram, e todas as maneiras pelas quais se rebelaram contra Mim. 9 Então, esta cidade se tornará para Mim um objeto de alegria, uma canção de louvor e honra diante das nações da terra, que ouvirão todas as coisas boas que Eu farei para ela. Então, elas tremerão espantadas por causa de todo o bem e da paz que lhes darei.'

6 But see, I am about to bring healing and a cure, for I will heal them and will bring to them abundance, peace, and faithfulness. 7 For I will reverse the captivity of Judah and Israel; I will build them up as in the beginning. 8 Then I will purify them from all the iniquity that they have committed against me. I will pardon all the iniquities that they have done against me, and all the ways that they rebelled against me. 9 For this city will become for me an object of joy, a song of praise and honor for all the nations of the earth who will hear of all the good things that I am going to do for it. Then they will fear and tremble because of all the good things and the peace that I will give to it.'

10 Yahweh diz isto: "Neste lugar sobre o qual agora vós estás dizendo: 'É uma desolação. Não existe nenhum homem, nem animal nas cidades de Judá; e as ruas de Jerusalém são inabitáveis, sem nenhum homem ou animal.' 11 Novamente, serão ouvidos os sons de alegria e celebração, sons de noivos e noivas, sons das vozes de pessoas que fazem ofertas de agradecimento à Casa de Yahweh: "Dai graças a Yahweh dos Exércitos, porque Ele é bom, o Seu amor leal não tem fim". Pois mudarei o destino desta terra, tornando-a como era no princípio', diz Yahweh.

10 Yahweh says this, 'In this place about which you are now saying, "It is desolate, a place with neither man nor animal," in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, having neither man nor animal, there will be heard again 11 the sound of joy and the sound of gladness, the sound of the groom and the sound of the bride, the sound of those who say, while they bring thank offerings to the house of Yahweh, "Give thanks to Yahweh of hosts, for Yahweh is good, and his unfailing love lasts forever!" For I will reverse the captivity of the land to what they were before,' says Yahweh.

12 Assim diz Yahweh dos Exércitos: "Neste lugar desolado, onde agora não existe homem nem animal, haverá novamente, em todas as cidades, pastos onde os pastores poderão repousar seus rebanhos. 13 Nas cidades da região montanhosa, nas cidades das planícies, nas cidades do Sul, na terra de Benjamim, nas vilas ao redor de Jerusalém e nas cidades de Judá ainda passarão os rebanhos pelas mãos de quem os conte", diz Yahweh.

12 Yahweh of hosts says this: 'In this desolate place, where now there is neither man nor animal—in all its cities there will again be pastures where shepherds can rest their flocks. 13 In the cities in the hill country, the lowlands, and the Negev,in the land of Benjamin and all around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks will again pass under the hands of the ones counting them,' says Yahweh.

14 Olhai! Eis que vêm dias – esta é a declaração de Yahweh – quando Eu farei o que prometi à casa de Israel e à casa de Judá. 15 Naqueles dias e naquele tempo, farei brotar de Davi um Renovo Justo, e ele fará justiça e retidão na terra. 16 Naqueles dias, Judá será salva e Jerusalém viverá em segurança, pois este é o nome pela qual será chamada: "Yahweh é a nossa justiça."

14 'Look! Days are coming—this is Yahweh's declaration—when I will do what I have promised for the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 In those days and in that time I will make a righteous branch to grow for David, and he will carry out justice and righteousness in the land. 16 In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in security, for this is what she will be called, "Yahweh is our righteousness."'

17 Pois assim diz Yahweh: "Nunca faltará um homem da linhagem de Davi para assentar-se no trono da casa de Israel, 18 nem faltará um homem dos sacerdotes levitas, diante de Mim, para levantar holocaustos, para queimar ofertas de alimentos, e realizar ofertas de cereais em todo o tempo."

17 For Yahweh says this: 'A man from David's line will never be lacking to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 18 nor will a man from the Levitical priests be lacking before me to raise burnt offerings, to burn food offerings, and to perform grain offerings all the time.'"

19 A palavra de Yahweh veio a Jeremias, dizendo: 20 "Assim diz Yahweh: Se puderdes quebrar Minha aliança com o dia e com a noite, de modo que não haja nem dia nem noite a seu tempo, 21 então, vós também quebrareis Meu pacto com Davi, Meu servo, para que ele não tenha um filho para reinar em seu trono; como também o Meu pacto com os pastores levitas, Meus servos. 22 Como as estrelas do céu não podem ser contadas, e como a areia do mar não pode ser medida, assim aumentarei os descendentes de Davi, Meu servo, e dos levitas que Me servem."

19 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying, 20 "Yahweh says this: 'If you can break my covenant with day and night so that there will no longer be day or night at their proper times, 21 then you will be able to break my covenant with David my servant, so that he will no longer have a descendant to sit on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests, my servants. 22 As the hosts of heaven cannot be counted, and as the sand of the seashores cannot be measured, so I will increase the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who serve before me.'"

23 A palavra de Yahweh veio a Jeremias, dizendo: 24 "Não tens considerado o que este povo tem declarado quando dizem: 'As duas famílias que Yahweh escolheu, agora Ele tem rejeitado?' Assim, desprezam Meu povo, dizendo que eles não são mais uma nação.

23 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying, 24 "Have you not considered what this people has declared when they said, 'The two families that Yahweh chose, now he has rejected them'? In this way they despise my people, saying that they are no longer a nation in their sight.

25 Eu, Yahweh, digo isto: 'Se a minha aliança com o dia e a noite não vale mais, e se Eu não manter a harmonia do céu e terra, 26 então, Eu rejeitarei os descendentes de Jacó e Davi, Meu servo, e não trarei uma pessoa para governar sobre os descendentes de Abraão, Isaque e Jacó. Porque lhes restaurarei a sorte e lhes mostrarei misericórdia."

25 I, Yahweh, say this, 'If I have not established the covenant of day and night, and if I have not fixed the laws of heaven and earth, 26 then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and not bring from them a person to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will reverse their captivity and show mercy to them.'"
