1 Ouvi esta palavra que Yahweh falou contra vós, povo de Israel, contra toda a família que tirei da terra do Egito: 2 "Eu escolhi somente a ti, dentre todas as famílias da terra. Portanto, Eu te punirei por todos teus pecados."

1 Hear this word that Yahweh has spoken against you, people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt: 2 "I have chosen only you from all the families of the earth. Therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities."

3 Andarão dois juntos a não ser que estejam de acordo? 4 Rugirá o leão na floresta quando ele não tem presa? Poderá o filhote de leão rosnar do seu esconderijo sem ter apanhado nada?

3 Will two walk together unless they have made an appointment? 4 Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Will a young lion growl from his den if he has caught nothing?

5 Pode um pássaro cair numa armadilha na terra quando a isca não está nela? A armadilha se levantará do chão sem ter apanhado coisa nenhuma? 6 Soará a trombeta numa cidade sem que as pessoas se estremeçam? Poderá vir um desastre sobre uma cidade o qual Yahweh não tenha enviado?

5 Can a bird fall in a trap on the ground when no bait is set for him? Will a trap spring up from the ground when it has not caught anything? 6 If a trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not tremble? If disaster overtakes a city, has Yahweh not sent it?

7 Certamente, o Senhor Yahweh não fará nada, a menos que Ele revele Seu plano para Seus servos, os profetas. 8 O leão rugiu — quem não temerá? O Senhor Yahweh falou — quem não profetizará?

7 Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing unless he reveals his plan to his servants the prophets. 8 The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord Yahweh has spoken; who will not prophesy?

9 Proclamai isto nas fortalezas de Asdode e nas fortalezas na terra do Egito. Dizei: "Reuni-vos nos montes de Samaria, e vede que grande confusão e opressão estão em seu meio. 10 Porque não sabem fazer o que é correto". Assim diz Yahweh: "Eles acumulam violência e destruição em suas fortalezas".

9 Proclaim this in the fortresses at Ashdod, and in the fortresses in the land of Egypt; say, "Assemble yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see what great tumults are in her, and what oppression is in her. 10 For they do not know how to do right— this is Yahweh's declaration— They store up violence and devastation in their fortresses."

11 Portanto, assim diz Yahweh: "Um inimigo cercará a terra e derrubará suas cidadelas e pilhará suas fortalezas". 12 Assim diz Yahweh: "Como o pastor que retira da boca do leão apenas duas pernas ou um pedaço de uma orelha, assim o povo de Israel que vive em Samaria será resgatado, com apenas um canto de sofá ou somente um pedaço da cama".

11 Therefore, this is what the Lord Yahweh says: "An enemy will surround the land, and pull down your strongholds and plunder your fortresses." 12 This is what Yahweh says: "As the shepherd rescues out of the mouth of the lion two legs only, or a piece of an ear; so will the people of Israel who live in Samaria be rescued; they will be left with only the corner of a couch or a piece of a bed."

13 Ouve e testifica contra a casa de Jacó — esta é a declaração do Senhor Yahweh, o Deus dos Exércitos: 14 "Nos dias em que Eu punir os pecados de Israel, punirei também os altares de Betel, e os chifres do altar serão cortados e cairão no chão.

13 Hear and testify against the house of Jacob— this is the declaration of the Lord Yahweh, the God of hosts: 14 "For in the day that I punish the sins of Israel, I will also punish the altars of Bethel. The horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.

15 Eu destruirei a casa de inverno juntamente com a casa de verão. As casas de marfim perecerão e grandes casas desaparecerão". Assim diz Yahweh.

15 I will destroy the winter house with the summer house. The houses of ivory will perish, and the large houses will vanish— this is Yahweh's declaration."
