1 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Moabe, mesmo por quatro, Eu não retirarei o castigo, porque ele queimou os ossos do rei de Edom até as cinzas.

1 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Moab, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because he burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.

2 Eu enviarei fogo em Moabe que devorará as fortalezas de Queriote. Moabe morrerá em alvoroço, com gritos e ao som de trombeta. 3 Eu destruirei o seu juiz e matarei todos os príncipes juntamente com ele", diz Yahweh.

2 I will send fire on Moab, and it will devour the fortresses of Kerioth. Moab will die in an uproar, with shouting and the sound of the trumpet. 3 I will destroy the judge in her, and I will kill all the princes with him," says Yahweh.

4 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Judá, mesmo por quatro, não retirarei o castigo, porque eles rejeitaram a Lei de Yahweh e não obedeceram aos Seus estatutos. As suas mentiras fizeram com que se perdessem, do mesmo modo que seus pais. 5 Enviarei fogo sobre Judá, que devorará as fortalezas de Jerusalém".

4 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Judah, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they rejected the law of Yahweh and did not keep his statutes. Their lies caused them to go astray, after which their fathers had also walked. 5 I will send fire on Judah, and it will devour the fortresses of Jerusalem."

6 Assim diz Yahweh: ''Por três pecados de Israel, mesmo por quatro, não revogarei o castigo, porque eles venderam os inocentes por prata e os necessitados por um par de sandálias.

6 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Israel, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they sold the innocent for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals.

7 Eles esmagam as cabeças dos pobres como as pessoas pisam no pó do chão. Eles afastam os oprimidos para longe. Um homem e o seu pai deitam-se com a mesma jovem, e assim profanam o Meu Santo Nome. 8 Eles deitam-se ao lado de cada altar sobre roupas penhoradas e na casa do seu Deus bebem o vinho dos que foram multados.

7 They trample on the heads of the poor as people trample on dust on the ground; they push the oppressed away. A man and his father go to the same girl and so profane my holy name. 8 They lie down beside every altar on clothes taken as pledges, and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who were fined.

9 No entanto, Eu destruí o amorreu diante deles, cuja altura era como a altura dos cedros; ele era forte como os carvalhos. Destruí o seu fruto por cima e suas raízes por baixo. 10 Também vos fiz subir da terra do Egito e vos conduzi por quarenta anos no deserto, para que possuísseis a terra dos amoreus.

9 Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of cedars; he was strong as the oaks. Yet I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below. 10 Also, I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness to possess the land of the Amorites.

11 Levantei profetas dentre vossos filhos e nazireus dentre vossos jovens. Não é assim, povo de Israel?" Essa é a declaração de Yahweh. 12 "Mas vós persuadistes os nazireus a beberem vinho e ordenastes os profetas a não profetizarem.

11 I raised up prophets from among your sons and Nazirites from your young men. Is it not so, people of Israel?— this is Yahweh's declaration. 12 But you persuaded the Nazirites to drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.

13 Vê! Eu vos esmagarei como um carro cheio de grãos pode esmagar alguém. 14 A pessoa ágil não escapará, o forte não aumentará sua própria força nem o poderoso se salvará.

13 Look, I will crush you as a cart that is full of grain can crush someone. 14 Escape will perish from the swift; the strong will not add to his own strength; neither will the mighty save himself.

15 O arqueiro não resistirá, o corredor não escapará nem o cavaleiro se salvará. 16 Mesmo os guerreiros mais corajosos fugirão nus naquele dia!" Assim diz Yahweh.

15 The archer will not stand; the fast runner will not escape; the horseman will not save himself. 16 Even the bravest warriors will flee naked in that day— this is Yahweh's declaration."
