1 Palavras de Amós, um dos pastores em Tecoa, que recebeu em revelação, concernentes a Israel. Ele a recebeu nos dias de Uzias, rei de Judá, e também nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do terremoto. 2 Ele disse: "Yahweh ruge de Sião, Ele levanta Sua voz de Jerusalém. Os pastos dos pastores murcham, e o cume do Carmelo se seca".

1 These are the words of Amos, who was among the shepherds from Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and also in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. 2 He said, "Yahweh will roar from Zion; he will raise his voice from Jerusalem. The pastures of the shepherds will mourn; the top of Carmel will wither."

3 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Damasco, mesmo por quatro, Eu não revogarei o castigo, porque eles esmagaram Gileade com instrumentos de ferro. 4 Mandarei fogo na casa de Hazael que devorará a fortaleza de Ben Hadad.

3 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they threshed Gilead with sharp threshing sledges of iron. 4 I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it will devour the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.

5 Quebrarei os ferrolhos de Damasco, exterminarei o habitante do vale de Áven e também o homem que segura o cetro de Bete-Éden. E o povo da Síria será levado em cativeiro para Quir", diz o Senhor.

6 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Gaza, mesmo por quatro, não revogarei o castigo, porque levaram cativo o povo inteiro e o entregaram a Edom. 7 Mandarei fogo nas muralhas de Gaza que devorará a sua fortaleza.

6 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they carried away captive a whole people, to hand them over to Edom. 7 I will send fire on the walls of Gaza, and it will devour her fortresses.

8 Eu destruirei o homem que vive em Asdode e o homem que segura o cetro de Asquelon. Colocarei a Minha mão contra Ecron, e o restante dos filisteus perecerá'', diz o Senhor Yahweh.

8 I will cut off the man who lives in Ashdod and the man who holds the scepter from Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the rest of the Philistines will perish," says the Lord Yahweh.

9 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Tiro, mesmo por quatro, não revogarei o castigo, porque eles entregaram cativo o povo inteiro para Edom e quebraram sua aliança de irmandade. 10 Mandarei fogo nas muralhas de Tiro, que devorará sua fortaleza."'

9 This is what Yahweh says: "For three sins of Tyre, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they had delivered up a whole people to Edom, and they broke their covenant of brotherhood. 10 I will send fire on the walls of Tyre, and it will devour her fortresses."

11 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados de Edom, mesmo por quatro, não revogarei o castigo, porque perseguiu seu irmão com a espada e desamparou toda a miséricordia. Sua ira não cessou, e seu furor foi eterno. 12 Mandarei fogo em Teman que devorará os palácios de Bozrah".

11 This is what Yahweh says, "For three sins of Edom, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity. His anger tore them apart continually, and his wrath lasted forever. 12 I will send fire on Teman, and it will devour the palaces of Bozrah."

13 Assim diz Yahweh: "Por três pecados do povo de Amon, mesmo por quatro, não revogarei o castigo, porque eles abriram o ventre das mulheres grávidas de Gileade, para alargarem suas fronteiras.

13 This is what Yahweh says, "For three sins of the people of Ammon, even for four, I will not turn away punishment, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, that they may enlarge their borders.

14 Atearei fogo nas muralhas de Rabá que devorará os palácios, com alarido no dia da batalha, com tempestade no dia do redemoinho. 15 O seu rei irá ao cativeiro, ele e todos os seus oficiais juntos", diz Yahweh.

14 I will light a fire in the walls of Rabbah, and it will devour the palaces, with a shout in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind. 15 Their king will go into captivity, he and his officials together," says Yahweh.
