1 No décimo sétimo ano de Peca, filho de Ramalias, Acaz, filho de Jotão, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 2 Acaz tinha vinte anos de idade quando ele começou a reinar, e reinou por dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. Ele não fez o que era reto aos olhos de Yahweh, seu Deus, assim como Davi, seu antecessor havia feito.

1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah son of Remaliah, Ahaz son of Jotham king of Judah, began to reign. 2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was right in the eyes of Yahweh his God, as David his ancestor had done.

3 Ao invés disso, ele andou no caminho dos reis de Israel; até colocou seu filho no fogo como holocausto, seguindo as abomináveis práticas das nações, que Yahweh expulsara do povo de Israel. 4 Ele sacrificou e queimou incenso nos lugares altos, nos outeiros e debaixo de qualquer árvore verde.

3 Instead, he walked in the way of the kings of Israel; indeed, he made his son pass through the fire, following the detestable practices of the nations, which Yahweh had driven out before the people of Israel. 4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops, and under every green tree.

5 Então, Rezim, rei da Síria e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, veio até Jerusalém para atacar. Eles cercaram Acaz, mas não puderam conquistar. 6 Naquela ocasião, Rezim, rei da Síria, recuperou Elate da Síria e expulsou os homens de Judá para fora de Elate. Então, os arameus vieram para Elate, onde moram até hoje.

5 Then Rezin, king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to attack. They besieged Ahaz, but they could not conquer him. 6 At that time, Rezin king of Aram recovered Elath for Aram and drove the men of Judah out of Elath. Then the Arameans came to Elath where they have lived to this day.

7 Então, Acaz enviou mensageiros a Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria dizendo: "Sou teu servo e teu filho. Vem e me salva das mãos do rei da Síria e da mão do rei de Israel, que me atacou". 8 Acaz, então, pegou a prata e o ouro que foi achada no templo de Yahweh, e no meio dos tesouros do palácio do rei, e os mandou como presente ao rei da Assíria. 9 O rei da Assíria o ouviu, e subiu contra Damasco, a conquistou e aprisionou os habitantes para Quir. Também matou Rezim, o rei da Síria.

7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, "I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the hand of the king of Aram and from the hand of the king of Israel, who have attacked me." 8 So Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of Yahweh and among the treasures of the king's palace and he sent it as a gift to the king of Assyria. 9 Then the king of Assyria listened to him, and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, conquered it and carried off its people as prisoners to Kir. He also killed Rezin the king of Aram.

10 O rei Acaz foi a Damasco para encontrar Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria. Em Damasco, ele viu um altar. Ele enviou a Urias, o sacerdote, um modelo do altar com seu padrão e o desenho de todas as ferramentas necessárias. 11 Urias, o sacerdote, construiu o altar para ser como as plantas que o rei Acaz lhe enviou de Damasco. 10 King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. At Damascus he saw an altar. He sent to Uriah the priest a model of the altar and its pattern and the design for all the workmanship needed. 11 So Uriah the priest built an altar to be just like the plans that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus. He finished it before King Ahaz arrived back from Damascus. 12 When the king came from Damascus he saw the altar; the king approached the altar and made offerings on it.

13 Ele fez seu holocausto e sua oferta de cereais, derramou sua oferta de bebida e aspergiu o sangue de sua oferta pacífica no altar. 14 O altar de bronze que estava diante de Yahweh, ele o trouxe da frente do templo, dentre o altar e o templo de Yahweh, e o pôs no lado norte do altar.

13 He made his burnt offering and his grain offering, poured out his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his fellowship offerings on the altar. 14 The bronze altar that was before Yahweh—he brought it from the front of the temple, from between his altar and the temple of Yahweh and put it on the north side of his altar.

15 Então, o rei Acaz mandou Urias, o sacerdote, dizendo: "No grande altar, queima o holocausto matinal e de tarde, a oferta de cereais, o holocausto do rei e sua oferta de cereais, com o holocausto de todos da terra, suas ofertas de cereais e suas ofertas de bebida. Aspergirás nele todo o sangue de todos os holocaustos e o sangue dos sacrifícios. Porém, no altar de bronze, eu pedirei orientação a Deus". 16 Urias, o sacerdote, fez como o rei Acaz ordenara.

15 Then King Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, saying, "On the large altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening grain offering, and the king's burnt offering and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their grain offering and their drink offerings. Sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice. But the bronze altar will be for me to consult for guidance." 16 Uriah the priest did just what King Ahaz commanded.

17 O rei Acaz removeu os painéis e as bases das estantes portáteis; e o mar, detrás das costas dos bois de bronze que estava embaixo, e o colocou sobre um pavimento de pedra. 18 Ele removeu a cobertura para o sábado que eles construiram no templo, por toda a entrada do rei, fora do templo de Yahweh, por causa do rei da Assíria.

17 Then King Ahaz removed the panels and the basins from the portable stands; he also took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it and put it on a stone pavement. 18 He removed the covered walkway for the Sabbath that they had built at the temple, along with the king's entry outside the temple of Yahweh, because of the king of Assyria.

19 Para as outras questões relativas a Acaz e o que ele realizou, não estão elas escritas no Livro de Crônicas dos reis de Judá? 20 Acaz morreu e foi sepultado junto com os seus antepassados na cidade de Davi. Ezequias, seu filho, se tornou rei em seu lugar.

19 As for the other matters concerning Ahaz and what he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah? 20 Ahaz lay down with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David. Hezekiah his son became king in his place.
