1 No ano vinte sete de Jeroboão, rei de Israel, Azarias, filho de Amazias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 2 Azarias tinha dezesseis anos de idade quando começou a reinar. Ele reinou por cinquenta e dois anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Jecolias, natural de Jerusalém. 3 Ele fez o que era correto aos olhos de Yahweh, assim como seu pai, Amazias, havia feito.

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign. 2 Azariah was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jekoliah, and she was from Jerusalem. 3 He did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh, just as his father Amaziah had done.

4 Entretanto, os altares das colinas não foram retirados. As pessoas continuavam a sacrificar e a queimar incenso neles. 5 Yaweh afligiu o rei com lepra, até o dia de sua morte, e ele viveu em uma casa separada. Jotão, o filho do rei, ficou responsável pelo palácio e governou o povo da terra.

4 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. 5 Yahweh afflicted the king so that he was a leper to the day of his death and lived in a separate house. Jotham, the king's son, was over the household and ruled the people of the land.

6 Quanto aos demais assuntos relacionados a Azarias, e a tudo o que ele fez, acaso não estão escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Judá? 7 Azarias dormiu com seus pais e foi sepultado na cidade de Davi, junto a seus ancestrais. Jotão, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

6 As for the other matters concerning Azariah, all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah? 7 So Azariah lay down with his ancestors; they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David. Jotham, his son, became king in his place.

8 No ano trinta e oito de Azarias, rei de Judá, Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão, reinou por seis meses sobre Israel, em Samaria. 9 Ele praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh, assim como seus pais haviam praticado. Ele não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que havia conduzido Israel a pecar.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria for six months. 9 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as his fathers had done. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.

10 Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra Zacarias, atacou-o em Ibleão e o matou. Então, ele reinou em seu lugar. 11 Os demais atos relacionados a Zacarias estão escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Israel. 12 Esta foi a palavra que Yahweh falou a Jeú, dizendo: "Os teus descendentes até a quarta geração se assentarão no trono de Israel". E assim aconteceu.

10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah, attacked him in Ibleam, and killed him. Then he became king in his place. 11 As for the other matters concerning Zechariah, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel. 12 This was the word of Yahweh that he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation." That is what happened.

13 Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar no ano trinta e nove de Uzias, rei de Judá, e reinou apenas um mês em Samaria. 14 Menaém, filho de Gadi, veio de Tirza para Samaria. Ele atacou e matou Salum, filho de Jabes, e reinou em seu lugar.

13 Shallum son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, and he reigned only one month in Samaria. 14 Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria. There he attacked Shallum son of Jabesh, in Samaria. He killed him and became king in his place.

15 Os demais assuntos relacionados a Salum e a conspiração que ele tramou estão escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Israel. 16 Então, Menaém, vindo de Tirza, atacou Tifsa e seus arredores, com todos os seus habitantes, porque não lhe abriram a cidade. Menaém saqueou Tifsa e rasgou o ventre de todas as mulheres grávidas da cidade.

15 As for the other matters concerning Shallum and the conspiracy that he formed, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel. 16 Then Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all who were there, and the borders around Tirzah, because they did not open up the city to him. So he attacked it, and he ripped open all the pregnant women in that village. [[ Instead of " Tiphsah " , one ancient translation and some modern translations read " Tappuah " . ]]

17 No ano trinta e nove de Azarias, rei de Judá, Menaém, filho de Gadi, começou a reinar sobre Israel. Ele reinou dez anos em Samaria. 18 Menaém praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh. Por toda a sua vida, ele não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que havia levado Israel a pecar.

17 In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi began to reign over Israel; he reigned ten years in Samaria. 18 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. For his whole life, he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.

19 Então, Pul, rei da Assíria, atacou a terra, e Menaém entregou a Pul mil talentos de prata, a fim de conquistar o apoio dele e manter-se no reino de Israel. 20 Para entregar essa soma ao rei da Assíria, Menaém obrigou cada homem rico de Israel a pagar cinquenta siclos de prata. Assim, o rei da Assíria suspendeu a invasão e retirou-se da terra.

19 Then Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, so that Pul's support might be with him to strengthen the kingdom of Israel in his hand. 20 Menahem exacted this money from Israel by requiring each of the wealthy men to pay fifty shekels of silver to him to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and did not stay there in the land.

21 Quanto aos demais assuntos relacionados a Menaém, e a tudo o que ele fez, não estão porventura escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Israel? 22 Então, Menaém dormiu com seus ancestrais, e Pecaías, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

21 As for the other matters concerning Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel? 22 So Menahem lay down with his ancestors, and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.

23 No ano cinquenta de Azarias, rei de Judá, Pecaías, filho de Menaém, começou a reinar sobre Israel, ele reinou dois anos em Samaria. 24 Praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh e não se apartou dos pecados de Jerobão, filho de Nebate, que havia levado Israel a pecar.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned two years. 24 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not leave behind the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, by which he had caused Israel to sin.

25 Pecaías tinha um oficial chamado Peca, filho de Remalias, que conspirou contra ele e o matou, junto com Argobe e Arié, em Samaria, a cidadela do palácio do rei. Com ele estavam cinquenta homens gileaditas. Ele o matou e reinou em seu lugar. 26 Os demais assuntos relacionados a Pecaías e a tudo o que ele fez estão escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Israel.

25 Pekahiah had an officer named Pekah son of Remaliah, who conspired against him. Along with fifty men of Gilead, Pekah killed Pekahiah as well as Argob and Arieh in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's palace. Pekah killed Pekahiah and became king in his place. 26 As for the other matters concerning Pekahiah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.

27 No ano cinquenta e dois de Azarias, rei de Judá, Peca, filho de Remalias, começou a reinar sobre Israel; reinou vinte anos em Samaria. 28 Ele praticou o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh e não se apartou dos pecados de Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, que levou Israel a pecar.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria; he reigned twenty years. 28 He did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.

29 Nos dias de Peca, rei de Israel, Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, atacou e tomou Ijon, Abel-Bete-Maaca, Janoa, Quedes, Hazor, Gileade, a Galileia e toda a terra de Naftali e levou os seus habitantes cativos para a Assíria. 30 Então, Oseias, filho de Elá, tramou uma conspiração contra Peca, filho de Remalias, atacou-o e o matou. Assim, no ano vinte de Jotão, filho de Uzias, Oseias começou a reinar. 31 Os demais assuntos relacionados a Peca e a tudo o que ele fez estão escritos no livro de Crônicas do reis de Israel.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, Galilee, and all the land of Naphtali. He carried away the people to Assyria. 30 So Hoshea son of Elah formed a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked him and killed him. Then he became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah. 31 As for the other matters concerning Pekah, all that he did, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel.

32 No ano dois de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, começou a reinar. 33 Ele tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar, reinou dezesseis anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Jerusa, a filha de Zadoque.

32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham son of Azariah, king of Judah began to reign. 33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah; she was the daughter of Zadok.

34 Jotão fez o que era correto aos olhos de Yahweh. Ele seguiu todo o exemplo de seu pai, Uzias. 35 Porém os altares das colinas não foram retirados. O povo continuava sacrificando e queimando incenso nos altares. Jotão edificou o portão superior do templo de Yahweh. 36 Os demais assuntos sobre Jotão e sobre tudo o que ele fez, acaso não estão escritos no livro de Crônicas dos reis de Judá? 37 Naqueles dias Yahweh começou a enviar Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, contra Judá. 38 Jotão dormiu com seus pais e foi sepultado junto a seus antepassados na cidade de Davi, seu antepassado. Então, Acaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

34 Jotham did what was right in the eyes of Yahweh. He followed the example of all his father Azariah had done. 35 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Jotham built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh. 36 As for the other matters concerning Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah?

37 In those days Yahweh began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah son of Remaliah. 38 Jotham lay down with his ancestors and was buried with his ancestors in the city of David, his ancestor. Then Ahaz, his son, became king in his place.
