1 Sede meus imitadores, assim como sou de Cristo. 2 Agora, eu vos louvo porque vos lembrais de mim em tudo, e vos agarrastes às tradições exatamente como as entreguei a vós. 3 Agora, quero que entendais que Cristo é a cabeça de todo homem, que o homem é a cabeça da mulher, e que Deus é a cabeça de Cristo. 4 Qualquer homem que ora ou profetiza com sua cabeça coberta desonra sua cabeça.

1 Be imitators of me, just as I am an imitator of Christ. 2 Now I praise you because you remember me in everything. I praise you because you hold firmly to the traditions just as I delivered them to you. 3 Now I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, that a man is the head of a woman, and that God is the head of Christ. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.

5 Mas qualquer mulher que ora ou profetiza com sua cabeça descoberta desonra sua cabeça; pois é da mesma forma como se sua cabeça estivesse rapada. 6 Pois, se uma mulher não cobrir sua cabeça, ela deve cortar seu cabelo curto. Se é vergonhoso para a mulher ter seu cabelo cortado ou rapar sua cabeça, que ela cubra sua cabeça.

5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is the same thing as if her head were shaved. 6 For if a woman will not cover her head, she should cut her hair short. If it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or for her to shave her head, let her cover her head.

7 Pois um homem não deve ter sua cabeça coberta, já que ele é a imagem e glória de Deus. Mas a mulher é a glória do homem. 8 Pois, o homem não foi feito da mulher, mas a mulher foi feita do homem.

7 For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man. 8 For man was not made from woman. Instead, woman was made from man.

9 Pois também o homem não foi criado para a mulher; mas a mulher para o homem. 10 Por isso, a mulher deve ter um símbolo de autoridade na sua cabeça, por causa dos anjos.

9 For neither was man created for woman. Instead, woman was created for man. 10 This is why the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.

11 Entretanto, no Senhor, a mulher não é independente do homem, nem é o homem independente da mulher. 12 Pois, assim como a mulher vem do homem, da mesma forma o homem vem da mulher. E todas as coisas vêm de Deus.

11 Nevertheless, in the Lord, the woman is not independent from the man, nor is the man independent from the woman. 12 For as the woman comes from the man, so does the man come from the woman. And all things come from God.

13 Julgai por vós mesmos: é adequado para uma mulher orar a Deus com sua cabeça descoberta? 14 A natureza por si mesma não vos ensina que, se um homem tem cabelo longo, é uma vergonha para ele? 15 A natureza não vos ensina que se uma mulher tiver cabelos compridos, isto é a sua glória? Pois seu cabelo lhe foi dado em lugar do véu. 16 Mas, se alguém quer causar contendas sobre isto, nós não temos tal prática, nem as igrejas de Deus.

13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor for him? 15 Does not nature teach you that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair has been given to her as a covering. 16 But if anyone wants to argue about this, we do not have any other practice, nor do the churches of God.

17 Nas seguintes instruções, porém, eu não vos louvo, porque quando vos juntais, não é para melhor, mas para pior. 18 Assim, em primeiro lugar, eu ouvi que quando vos reunis na igreja, há divisões entre vós, e em parte acredito nisto. 19 Pois é preciso que haja facções entre vós, de tal forma que aqueles que são aprovados possam ser vistos.

17 But in the following instructions, I do not praise you. For when you come together, it is not for the better but for the worse. 18 For in the first place, I hear that when you come together in the church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may become visible among you.

20 Pois, quando vos reunis, não é a ceia do Senhor que comeis. 21 Quando comeis, cada um come sua própria comida antes que os outros façam a sua refeição. Um está faminto, e outro fica bêbado. 22 Não tendes casas onde comer e beber? Vós ignorais a igreja de Deus e humilhais aqueles que nada têm? O que devo dizer-vos? Eu deveria vos parabenizar? Eu não vos parabenizo por isto!

20 For when you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat. 21 When you eat, each one eats his own food before the others have their meal. One is hungry, and another becomes drunk. 22 Do you not have houses to eat and to drink in? Do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I will not praise you for this!

23 Porque eu recebi do Senhor o que também vos passei, que o Senhor Jesus, na noite em que Ele foi traído, tomou o pão; 24 depois de ter dado graças, Ele o partiu e disse: "Este é o Meu corpo, que é para vós; fazei isto em memória de Mim".

23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when he was betrayed, took bread. 24 After he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you. Do this to remember me."

25 Da mesma forma, após a ceia, Ele pegou o cálice e disse: "Este cálice é a Nova Aliança do Meu sangue. Fazei isto, sempre que beberdes, em memória de Mim". 26 Pois, toda vez que comerdes este pão e beberdes este cálice, proclamais a morte do Senhor, até que Ele venha.

25 In the same way he took the cup after supper, and he said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it, to remember me." 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

27 De sorte que, aquele que comer do pão ou beber do cálice do Senhor de maneira indigna será culpado do corpo e do sangue do Senhor. 28 Que a pessoa examine-se a si mesmo primeiro, e assim coma do pão e beba do cálice. 29 Pois aquele que come e bebe sem discernimento do corpo, come e bebe julgamento para si. 30 Por isso há entre vós muitos fracos e doentes, e alguns que já morreram.

27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself first, and in this way let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment to himself. 30 That is why many among you are weak and ill, and some of you have fallen asleep.

31 Mas se examinássemos a nós mesmos, não seríamos julgados. 32 Quando, porém, somos julgados pelo Senhor, somos disciplinados, para que não sejamos condenados juntamente com o mundo.

31 But if we examine ourselves, we will not be judged. 32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

33 Portanto, meus irmãos, quando vos juntardes para comer, aguardai uns aos outros. 34 Se alguém está faminto, que coma em casa, de tal forma que quando vos juntardes não seja para julgamento. E sobre as outras coisas que vós escrevestes, darei instruções quando eu chegar.

33 Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. And about the other things you wrote, I will give instructions when I come.
