1 Ai da cidade rebelde! A cidade violenta está contaminada! 2 Ela não ouviu a voz de Deus nem aceitou a correção de Yahweh. Ela não confia em Yahweh e não se aproximará do seu Deus.

1 Woe to the rebellious city! The violent city is defiled. 2 She has not listened to the voice of God, nor accepted correction from Yahweh. She does not trust in Yahweh and will not approach her God.

3 Os príncipes dela são leões que rugem em seu meio! Os seus juízes são lobos da noite que não deixam nada para ser comido pela manhã! 4 Os seus profetas são homens insolentes e traiçoeiros! Seus sacerdotes profanam o que é santo e violam a lei.

3 Her princes are roaring lions in her midst. Her judges are evening wolves who leave nothing to be gnawed upon in the morning. 4 Her prophets are insolent and treasonous men. Her priests have profaned what is holy and have done violence to the law.

5 Yahweh é justo no meio dela. Ele não comete injustiça. Manhã após manhã, Ele dispensará Sua justiça. Ela não será escondida em meio à luz, embora os injustos não conheçam a vergonha.

5 Yahweh is righteous in her midst. He can do no wrong. Morning by morning he will dispense his justice! It will not be hidden in the light, yet the unjust knows no shame.

6 Eu exterminei nações, as suas fortalezas estão arruinadas. Arruinei as suas ruas, para que ninguém passe por elas. Suas cidades foram destruídas, para que não haja homem que habite nelas. 7 Eu disse: "Certamente tu Me temerás. Aceita a correção e não sejas cortado de tuas casas por tudo que eu planejei fazer a ti". Mas eles estavam ansiosos para começar todas as manhãs corrompendo todas as suas ações.

6 "I have destroyed nations; their fortresses are ruined. I have made their streets ruins, so that no one passes over them. Their cities are destroyed so that there is no man inhabiting them. 7 I said, 'Surely you will fear me. Accept correction and do not be cut off from your homes by all that I have planned to do to you.' But they were eager to begin each morning by corrupting all their deeds.

8 "Portanto, espera por mim", assim diz Yahweh, "até o dia em que Eu me levantar para o despojo. Pois Minha decisão é ajuntar as nações, reunir os reinos e derramar sobre eles a Minha ira, toda a Minha fúria, de tal modo que toda a terra será devorada pelo fogo da Minha ira.

8 Therefore wait for me—this is Yahweh's declaration—until the day that I rise up to seize the prey. For my decision is to assemble the nations, to gather the kingdoms, to pour out on them my anger—all of my burning wrath; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth will be consumed. [[ The copies of the ancient Hebrew text have, " until the day that I rise up to seize the prey " . However, some of the copies of the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew copies, and modern translations that follow those suggestions, read, " until the day that I rise up as a witness " . ]]

9 Mas então darei lábios puros ao povo, para chamar todos eles no nome de Yahweh para Me servirem de pé, ombro a ombro. 10 Para além do rio da Etiópia, os Meus adoradores, o Meu povo disperso, trarão ofertas que Me são devidas, 11 No dia em que não houver vergonha por todas as vossas ações que vós cometestes contra Mim, uma vez que Eu retirarei de ti os que celebraram o teu orgulho e porque tu não mais agirás arrogantemente no Meu santo monte.

9 But then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call upon the name of Yahweh to serve him shoulder to shoulder. 10 From beyond the river of Cush my worshipers—my scattered people—will bring offerings due me. 11 In that day you will not be put to shame for all your deeds by which you rebelled against me, since at that time I will remove from among you those who boasted in your pride, and because you will no longer act arrogantly on my holy mountain.

12 Mas Eu te deixarei como um povo humilde e pobre, e tu te refugiarás no nome de Yahweh. 13 O remanescente de Israel não mais cometerá injustiça ou falará mentiras, e não se achará língua enganosa em sua boca; assim eles pastarão e se deitarão, e ninguém os assustará".

12 But I will leave among you a lowly and poor people, and they will find refuge in the name of Yahweh. 13 The remnant of Israel will no longer commit injustice or speak lies, and no deceitful tongue will be found in their mouth; so they will graze and lie down, and no one will make them afraid."

14 Canta, filha de Sião! Grita, Israel! Alegra-te e regozija-te de todo o teu coração, filha de Jerusalém! 15 Yahweh te tirou o castigo; Ele lançou fora teus inimigos! Yahweh é o Rei de Israel entre vós. Vós nunca mais tereis medo do mal! 16 Naquele dia dirão a Jerusalém: "Não temas, Sião. Não se enfraqueçam as tuas mãos.

14 Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel. Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem. 15 Yahweh has taken away your punishment; he has turned away your enemies! Yahweh is the king of Israel among you. You will never again fear evil! 16 In that day they will say to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, Zion. Do not let your hands become weak.

17 Yahweh, teu Deus, está no meio de ti, poderoso para te salvar. Ele celebrará sobre ti e, com alegria, silenciará no Seu amor. Ele Se alegrará por ti e gritará de alegria, 18 como no dia da festa solene. Eu tirarei a calamidade de ti e não trarei mais nenhuma vergonha.

17 Yahweh your God is among you, a mighty one to save you. He will celebrate over you with joy; he will be silent over you in his love; he will be glad over you with a shout for joy. 18 I will gather those who grieve, those who cannot attend the appointed feasts, so you will no longer bear any shame for it. [[ This verse is very difficult to understand, and modern translations translate it in many different ways. ]]

19 Eis que Eu vou tratar com todos os seus opressores. Naquele tempo vou resgatar os coxos e reunir os marginalizados. Eu removerei tua vergonha e te darei louvor e honra em toda a terra. 20 E, naquele tempo, Eu vos guiarei; naquele tempo, Eu vos reunirei juntos. Eu farei com que todas as nações da terra te respeitem e te louvem, quando vires que Eu te restaurei", diz Yahweh.

19 Behold, I am about to deal with all your oppressors. At that time, I will rescue the lame and gather up the outcast. I will make them as praise, and I will change their shame into renown in all the earth. 20 At that time I will lead you; at that time I will gather you together. I will give you renown and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes," says Yahweh.
