1 A mensagem de sentença acerca de Nínive. O livro da visão de Naum, o elcosita.

1 The declaration about Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum, the Elkoshite.

2 Yahweh é um Deus ciumento e vingador; Yahweh é vingador e está furioso; Yahweh Se vinga dos Seus adversários, e Ele conserva Sua ira contra Seus inimigos. 3 Yahweh demora para Se irar e grande em poder; Ele não inocentará Seus inimigos. Yahweh faz Seu caminho no redemoinho e na tempestade, e as nuvens são o pó dos Seus pés.

2 Yahweh is a jealous God and avenges; Yahweh avenges and is full of wrath; Yahweh takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he continues his anger for his enemies. 3 Yahweh is slow to anger and great in power; he will not acquit the wicked. Yahweh makes his way in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

4 Ele repreende o mar e o faz secar; Ele seca todos os rios. Basã está fraco, e o Carmelo também; as flores do Líbano estão murchas. 5 Os montes tremem na Sua presença, e as colinas se dissolvem; a terra desmorona na Sua presença, de fato, o mundo e todos os que vivem nele.

4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers. Bashan is weak, and Carmel also; the flowers of Lebanon have become weak. 5 The mountains shake in his presence, and the hills melt; the earth collapses in his presence, indeed, the world and all people who live in it.

6 Quem pode ficar em pé diante do Seu furor? Quem pode resistir à Sua ira ardente? Sua ira é derramada como fogo, e as rochas são quebradas por Ele.

6 Who can stand before his rage? Who can resist the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.

7 Yahweh é bom, uma fortaleza no dia da angústia; Ele é fiel aos que se refugiam Nele. 8 Porém, Ele acabará de vez com os Seus inimigos, com uma devastadora inundação; Ele os perseguirá até à escuridão.

7 Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he acknowledges those who take refuge in him. 8 But he will make a full end to his enemies with an overwhelming flood; he will pursue them into darkness.

9 O que planejais contra Yahweh? Ele acabará de vez com isso; a aflição não se levantará pela segunda vez. 10 Porque, eles ficarão enredados como num emaranhado de espinhos; ficarão bêbados em seu próprio vinho; serão completamente devorados pelo fogo, como a palha seca. 11 Alguém se levantou entre vós, Nínive, que planejou o mal contra Yahweh, alguém que promoveu maldades.

9 What are you people plotting against Yahweh? He will make a full end to it; trouble will not rise up a second time. 10 Like tangled thorns and like the drink of drunkards, they will be consumed like dry stubble. 11 From you, Nineveh, has come out someone who plotted evil against Yahweh, a wicked counselor.

12 Assim diz Yahweh: "Mesmo que eles sejam mais fortes e mais numerosos, no entanto serão destruídos; seu povo não mais existirá. Mas tu, Judá: Embora Eu tenha afligido a ti, não te afligirei mais. 13 Agora quebrarei o jugo daquele povo de sobre ti; quebrarei tuas correntes".

12 This is what Yahweh says, "Even if they are at their full strength and full numbers, they will nevertheless be sheared; their people will pass away. But you, Judah: Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. 13 Now will I break that people's yoke from off you; I will break your chains."

14 Yahweh deu uma ordem a teu respeito, Nínive: "Não haverá mais descendentes com teu nome. Eu extirparei tuas imagens de escultura e imagens de fundição das casas dos teus deuses. Eu cavarei teus sepulcros, pois és desprezível".

14 Yahweh has given a command about you, Nineveh: "There will be no more descendants bearing your name. I will cut off the carved images and the cast metal figures from the houses of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are contemptible."

15 Vê, sobre os montes estão os pés daquele que está trazendo boas novas, que está anunciando paz! Celebra tuas festas, Judá, e guarda os teus votos, porque o perverso não te invadirá mais; ele será completamente extirpado.

15 Look, on the mountains there are the feet of someone who is bringing good news, who is announcing peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows, for the wicked one will invade you no more; he is completely cut off.
