1 Yahweh falou a Moisés e a Arão, dizendo: 2 "Falai ao povo de Israel, dizendo: 'Estas são as coisas vivas que vós podereis comer entre todos os animais que estão sobre a terra.

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2 "Speak to the people of Israel, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

3 Vós podereis comer quaisquer animais que possuem casco fendido e também os que ruminam. 4 Todavia, alguns animais que ruminam ou possuem casco fendido, vós não devais comer deles. Animais tais como o camelo, porque ele rumina, mas não possui casco fendido. Portanto, o camelo será impuro para vós.

3 You may eat any animal that has a split hoof and that also chews the cud. 4 However, some animals either chew the cud or have a split hoof, and you must not eat them, animals such as the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof. So the camel is unclean to you.

5 Também o texugo da rocha, porque rumina e não possui casco fendido, será impuro para vós. 6 E o coelho, porque rumina, mas não possui casco fendido, será impuro para vós. 7 E o porco, que, embora possua casco fendido, não rumina, então será impuro para vós. 8 Vós não devereis comer nenhuma das suas carnes, nem tocar suas carcaças. Elas serão impuras para vós.

5 Also the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not have a split hoof, it is also unclean to you. 6 The rabbit, because it chews the cud, but does not have a split hoof, is unclean to you. 7 The pig, although it has a split hoof, does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. 8 You must not eat any of their meat, nor touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.

9 Os animais que vivem na água que podereis comer são todos aqueles que possuem barbatanas e escamas, seja no oceano ou nos rios. 10 Mas todas as criaturas vivas que não possuem barbatanas e escamas, nos oceanos ou nos rios, incluindo todas as que se movem nas águas e todas as que vivem na água, deverão ser detestadas por vós.

9 The animals living in the water that you may eat are all those that have fins and scales, whether in the ocean or in the rivers. 10 But all living creatures that do not have fins and scales in the ocean or rivers, including all that move in the water and all the living creatures that are in the water— they must be detested by you.

11 Visto que elas deverão ser detestadas, vós não devereis comer suas carnes; também suas carcaças deverão ser detestadas. 12 Tudo o que não possui barbatanas ou escamas nas águas deverá ser detestado por vós.

11 Since they must be detested, you must not eat of their meat; also, their carcasses must be detested. 12 Whatever lives in the water and does not have fins and scales is detestable to you.

13 As aves que devereis detestar e que não devereis comer são estas: a águia, o abutre, 14 a águia marinha, qualquer tipo de falcão, 15 todo tipo de corvo, 16 a coruja de chifre e a coruja das torres, a gaivota e qualquer tipo de gavião.

13 These are the birds you must detest—and you must not eat because they are detestable: the eagle, the vulture, and the black vulture, 14 the kite, any kind of falcon, 15 every kind of raven, 16 the horned owl and the screech owl, the seagull, and any kind of hawk.

17 Vós devereis também detestar a coruja pequena e a coruja grande, o cormorão, 18 a coruja branca a coruja de celeiro, a águia-pescadora, 19 a cegonha, qualquer tipo de garça, a poupa e também o morcego.

17 You must also detest the little owl and the great owl, the cormorant, 18 the white owl and the barn owl, the osprey, 19 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and also the bat.

20 Todos os insetos alados que andam sobre quatro patas deverão ser detestados por vós. 21 Todavia, vós podereis comer qualquer inseto voador que também andar sobre patas, se ele possuir pernas articuladas para pular sobre o chão. 22 E vós também podereis comer qualquer tipo de locusta, esperança, grilo ou gafanhoto. 23 Mas todos os insetos voadores que possuem quatro patas deverão ser detestados por vós.

20 All winged insects that walk on four legs are detestable to you. 21 Yet you may eat any of the flying insects that also walk on four legs if they have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. 22 You may also eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper. 23 But all the flying insects that have four feet must be detested by you.

24 Vós vos tornareis impuros, até o anoitecer, por estes animais, se tocardes a carcaça de algum deles. 25 E quem pegar uma de suas carcaças deverá lavar suas roupas e permanecerá impuro até o anoitecer.

24 You will become unclean until evening by these animals if you touch a carcass of one of them. 25 Whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and remain unclean until evening.

26 Todo animal que possui casco fendido que não é completamente dividido ou aquele que não rumina será impuro para vós. Todo aquele que os tocar ficará impuro. 27 Todo o que anda sobre suas patas entre todos os animais que andam sobre as quatro pernas, eles serão impuros para vós. Qualquer que tocar tais carcaças ficará impuro até o anoitecer. 28 E qualquer um que pegar tais carcaças deverá lavar suas roupas e ficará impuro até o anoitecer. Estes animais serão impuros para vós.

26 Every animal which has a split hoof that is not completely divided or which does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them will be unclean. 27 Whatever walks on its paws among all the animals that walk on all four legs, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches such a carcass will be unclean until the evening. 28 Whoever picks up such a carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. These animals will be unclean to you.

29 Dos animais que rastejam pelo chão, estes são os animais que serão impuros para vós: a doninha, o rato, todo tipo de lagarto grande, 30 a lagartixa, o lagarto monitor, o lagarto, o lagarto da areia e o camaleão.

29 Of the animals that creep on the ground, these are the animals that will be unclean to you: the weasel, the rat, every kind of large lizard, 30 the gecko, the monitor lizard, the lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.

31 Dentre todos os animais que rastejam, esses são os que serão impuros para vós. Qualquer um que tocá-los, quando estiverem mortos, ficará impuro até o anoitecer. 32 E, se algum deles morrer e cair sobre alguma coisa, aquela coisa ficará impura; seja feita de madeira, tecido, couro, ou pano de saco. Não importa o que for ou para o que seja usado, deverá ser posto dentro d'água e ficará impuro até o anoitecer. Então, ficará puro. 33 Para todos os potes de barro, dentro ou sobre os quais algum animal impuro cair, tudo o que estiver dentro do pote ficará impuro e vós devereis destruir esse pote.

31 Of all the animals that creep, these are the animals which will be unclean to you. Whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening. 32 If any of them dies and falls on anything, that thing will be unclean, whether it is made of wood, cloth, leather, or sackcloth. Whatever it is and whatever it is used for, it must be put into water; it will be unclean until evening. Then it will be clean. 33 For every clay pot into or onto which any unclean animal falls, whatever is in the pot will become unclean, and you must destroy that pot.

34 Todo alimento puro, que se permite comer, mas sobre o qual a água de um pote impuro caiu, ficará impuro. E qualquer bebida de tais potes ficará impura. 35 Tudo em que alguma parte de carcaça de um animal impuro cair, ficará impuro, seja um forno ou pote de cozinhar. Deverão ser quebrados em pedaços. Isso é impuro e deverá ser impuro para vós.

34 Any food that could be eaten but has water on it from such a pot is unclean. Any liquid that is for drinking from such a pot is unclean. 35 Anything that one of their carcasses falls on becomes unclean; if it is an oven or small stove, it must be broken to pieces. They are unclean and they must remain unclean to you.

36 Uma fonte ou cisterna onde a água para beber é coletada permanecerá pura se tais criaturas caírem dentro delas; mas se alguém tocar a carcaça de um animal impuro na água, ficará impuro. 37 Se alguma parte de uma carcaça impura cair sobre alguma semente para a plantação, esta semente continuará pura. 38 Mas, se a água for colocada sobre a semente e alguma parte de uma carcaça impura cair sobre ela, então ficará impura para vós.

36 A spring or cistern for collecting water remains clean; but anyone who touches their carcass is unclean. 37 If any part of their carcass falls upon any seeds for sowing, those seeds will still be clean. 38 But if water is put on the seeds, and if any part of their carcass falls on them, then they will be unclean to you.

39 Se algum animal dos quais vós podeis comer vier a morrer, então, aquele que tocar sua carcaça ficará impuro até o anoitecer. 40 E qualquer que comer algo daquela carcaça deverá lavar as suas roupas e ficará impuro até o anoitecer. E aquele que carregar a carcaça deverá lavar suas roupas e ficará impuro até o anoitecer.

39 If any animal that you may eat dies, then he who touches the carcass will be unclean until evening. 40 Whoever eats any of that carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until evening. Anyone who picks up such a carcass will wash his clothes and be unclean until evening.

41 Todo animal que rasteja sobre o solo deve ser detestado; não deverá ser comido. 42 Tudo que rasteja sobre o ventre, e tudo que anda sobre as quatro patas, ou tudo que possui muitas patas — todos os animais que rastejam sobre o solo — vós não devereis comer, pois eles deverão ser detestados.

41 Every animal that creeps on the ground is detestable; it must not be eaten. 42 Whatever crawls on its belly, and whatever walks on all four legs, or whatever has many feet—all the animals that creep on the ground, these you must not eat, for they are detestable.

43 Vós não devereis tornar-vos impuros com nenhuma criatura viva que rasteja. Vós não devereis tornar-vos impuros com elas, pois elas podem tornar-vos impuros. 44 Pois Eu sou Yahweh, vosso Deus. Vós deveis vos manter santos. Portanto, sede santos porque Eu sou Santo. Vós não devereis vos contaminar com nenhum tipo de animal que se move sobre o solo. 45 Pois Eu sou Yahweh, que vos tirou da terra do Egito, para ser vosso Deus. Portanto, vós devereis ser santos, pois Eu sou Santo.

43 You must not make yourselves detestable with any living creatures that creep; you must not make yourselves unclean with them and you must not be made unclean by them. 44 For I am Yahweh your God. You are to keep yourselves holy, therefore, and be holy, because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves with any kind of animal that moves about on the ground. 45 For I am Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You must therefore be holy, for I am holy.

46 Esta é a lei a respeito dos animais, das aves e de toda criatura viva que se move nas águas e toda criatura que rasteja sobre o solo, 47 para as quais uma distinção é feita entre pura e impura. E entre os seres vivos que podem ser comidos e os seres vivos que não podem ser comidos.

46 This is the law regarding the animals, the birds, every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the ground, 47 for which a distinction is to be made between the unclean and the clean, and between the living things that may be eaten and the living things that may not be eaten.'"
