1 "Ouvi isto, sacerdotes! Prestai atenção, casa de Israel! Ouvi, casa do rei! O julgamento vem contra todos vós. Vós fostes uma armadilha em Mispá e uma rede estendida sobre o Tabor. 2 Os rebeldes mergulharam na matança, mas Eu castigarei todos eles. [Algumas versões modernas dizem: "Os rebeldes cavaram um poço profundo" , "Os rebeldes cavaram fundo em Shittim", ou, continuando no verso anterior, "um poço escavado profundamente em Shittim"].

1 "Hear this, priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, house of the king! For judgment is coming against you all. You have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor. 2 The rebels stand deep in slaughter, but I will punish all of them. [[ Some modern translations have " The rebels have dug a deep pit " , " The rebels have dug deep at Shittim " , or, continuing on from the previous verse, " a pit dug deep at Shittim " . ]]

3 Conheço Efraim, e Israel não está escondido de Mim. Efraim, agora tu te tornaste como uma prostituta; Israel está corrompido. 4 Suas práticas não lhes permitem voltar para Deus, porque o espírito de prostituição está no meio deles, e não conhecem Yahweh.

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me. Ephraim, now you have become like a prostitute; Israel is defiled. 4 Their deeds will not allow them to turn to God, for the mind of prostitution is in them, and they do not know Yahweh.

5 A soberba de Israel testifica contra ele. Assim, Israel e Efraim tropeçarão em sua culpa; e Judá também cairá com eles. 6 Eles irão com os seus rebanhos e manadas para buscarem a Yahweh, mas não O acharão, porque Ele se retirou deles. 7 Eles foram infiéis a Yahweh, porque geraram filhos ilegítimos. 5 The pride of Israel testifies against him; so Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their guilt; and Judah also will stumble with them. 6 They will go with their flocks and herds to seek Yahweh, but they will not find him, for he has withdrawn himself from them. 7 They were unfaithful to Yahweh, for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon festivals will devour them with their fields.

8 Tocai a trombeta em Gibeá, e a trombeta em Ramá. Levantai um grito de batalha em Bete Áven: 'Nós iremos te seguir, Benjamim!'. 9 Efraim se tornará uma desolação no dia do castigo. Entre as tribos de Israel, Eu declarei o que, certamente, se cumprirá.

8 Blow the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound a battle cry at Beth Aven: 'We will follow you, Benjamin!' 9 Ephraim will become a desolation on the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel I have declared what is certain to happen.

10 The leaders of Judah are like those who move a boundary stone. I will pour my wrath on them like water. 11 Ephraim is oppressed; he is crushed in judgment, because he has willingly walked after idols.

12 So I will be like a moth to Ephraim, and like rot to the house of Judah. 13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and Judah sent messengers to the great king. But he was not able to cure you people or heal your wound.

14 Assim, serei como leão para Efraim, e como leãozinho para a casa de Judá. Eu, Eu mesmo, os rasgarei e irei embora; Eu os levarei para fora, e não haverá ninguém para os resgatar. 15 Irei e voltarei ao Meu lugar, até que reconheçam a sua culpa e busquem a Minha face, até que, sinceramente, busquem-Me na sua angústia".

14 So I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear them apart and go away; I will carry them off, and there will be no one to rescue them. 15 I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, until they earnestly seek me in their distress."
