1 Esta é a palavra de Yahweh, que veio a Oseias, filho de Beeri, nos dias de Uzias, Jotão, Acaz e Ezequias, reis de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel. 2 Quando a princípio, Yahweh falou por intermédio de Oseias, disse a ele: "Vai, toma para ti uma mulher que seja prostituta. Ela terá filhos, resultado da prostituição. A terra cometeu grande prostituição por abandonar Yahweh."

1 This is the word of Yahweh that came to Hosea son of Beeri in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel. 2 When Yahweh spoke at first through Hosea, he said to him, "Go, take for yourself a wife who is a prostitute. She will have children who are the result of her prostitution. For the land is committing great prostitution by forsaking Yahweh."

3 Então, Oseias se casou com Gômer, filha de Diblaim, e ela concebeu e lhe deu um filho. 4 Yahweh disse a Oseias: "Põe nele o nome de Jezreel. Pois, em breve, punirei a casa de Jeú pelo derramamento do sangue de Jezreel e cessarei o reino da casa de Israel. 5 Acontecerá no dia em que quebrarei o arco de Israel no vale de Jezreel."

3 So Hosea went and married Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son. 4 Yahweh said to Hosea, "Call his name Jezreel. For in a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed at Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5 It will happen on the day that I break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel."

6 Gômer concebeu novamente e deu à luz uma filha. Então, Yahweh disse a Oseias: "Põe nela o nome de Lo-Ruama, pois não terei mais misericórdia da casa de Israel, põe-lhe o nome de Lo-Ruama; porque não me compadecerei da casa de Israel; de maneira alguma perdoarei por completo. 7 Contudo, terei misericórdia da casa de Judá, e os salvarei por Mim mesmo, Yahweh, o Deus deles. Não os salvarei pelo arco, nem pela espada, nem pela guerra, nem pelos cavalos e nem por cavaleiros."

6 Gomer conceived again and bore a daughter. Then Yahweh said to Hosea, "Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, that I should forgive them at all. 7 Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by myself, Yahweh their God. I will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen."

8 Então, depois de Lo-Ruama ter desmamado, Gômer concebeu e deu à luz outro filho. 9 Então, Yahweh disse: "Põe-lhe o nome de Lo-Ami, pois, vós não sois Meu povo e nem Eu, vosso Deus.

8 Now after Gomer had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and bore another son. 9 Then Yahweh said, "Call his name Lo-Ammi, for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

10 Contudo, o número de filhos de Israel será como a areia do mar, que não pode ser medida, nem contada. Embora tenha sido dito a eles: 'Vós não sois Meu povo', se dirá: 'Sois povo do Deus vivo'. 11 O filhos de Judá e os filhos de Israel se reunirão, designarão um líder, e subirão da terra, porque grande será o dia de Jezreel.

10 Yet the number of the people of Israel will be like the sand of the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. It will be that where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' it will be said to them, 'You are people of the living God.' 11 The people of Judah and the people of Israel2 will be gathered together. They will appoint one leader for themselves, and they will go up from the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.
