1 No terceiro ano do reinado de Belsazar, eu, Daniel, tive uma visão, depois da que tive antes. 2 Na visão, estava na cidade fortificada de Susã, na província do Elão, pois eu estava à margem do rio Ulai.

1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, I, Daniel, had a vision appear to me (after the one that appeared to me at first). 2 I saw in the vision, as I was looking, that I was in the fortress of Susa in the province of Elam. I saw in the vision that I was beside the Ulai Canal.

3 Ergui os olhos e vi, diante de mim, um carneiro com dois chifres à margem do rio. Um chifre era maior que o outro, porém, o mais comprido cresceu mais devagar, sendo ultrapassado em comprimento pelo mais curto. 4 Eu vi o carneiro dando cabeçadas para o oeste, para o norte e para o sul; nenhum animal conseguiu prevalecer contra ele. Nenhum deles foi capaz de resgatar alguém de suas mãos. Ele fez o que quis, e se tornou grande.

3 I looked up and saw before me a ram with two horns, standing beside the canal. One horn was longer than the other, but the longer one grew more slowly than the shorter and was passed up in length by it. 4 I saw the ram pushing west, then north, and then south; no other animal could stand before him. None of them was able to rescue anyone out of his hand. He did whatever he wanted, and he became great.

5 Enquanto eu pensava sobre isso, vi que um bode veio do oeste, atravessando toda a face da terra, correndo rápido e não parecia tocar no chão. O bode tinha um grande chifre entre seus olhos. 6 Ele veio ao carneiro que tinha dois chifres, o qual eu vi à margem do rio, e o bode correu em direção ao carneiro com uma terrível fúria.

5 As I was thinking about this, I saw a male goat come from the west, who went across the surface of the whole earth, running fast, not seeming to touch the ground. The goat had a large horn between his eyes. 6 He came to the ram who had two horns—I had seen the ram standing on the bank of the canal—and the goat rushed toward the ram in a powerful rage.

7 Vi o bode se aproximar do carneiro com muita fúria. Ele o atingiu e quebrou seus dois chifres. O carneiro perdeu seu poder de resistir ao bode. O bode derrubou o carneiro no chão e pisou nele. Não havia ninguém que pudesse livrar o carneiro de seu poder. 8 Então, o bode se tornou muito grande; porém, quando ele se tornou forte, o chifre grande foi quebrado. Em seu lugar, outros quatro grandes chifres cresceram e apontavam para os quatros cantos dos céus.

7 I saw the goat come close to the ram. He was very angry at the ram, and he hit the ram and broke off its two horns. The ram was powerless to stand before him. The goat knocked him down to the ground and trampled on him. There was no one who could rescue the ram from his power. 8 Then the goat became very large. But when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in its place four other large horns grew up that pointed toward the four winds of the heavens.

9 De um desses chifres, cresceu um outro chifre, pequeno a princípio, mas que se tornou muito grande e apontava em direção ao sul, ao leste e em direção à terra gloriosa. 10 Ele se tornou tão grande que entrou em guerra com o exército celestial. Uma parte desse exército e algumas das estrelas do céu foram atiradas na terra e pisoteadas pelo bode.

9 Out of one of them grew another horn, little at first, but which grew exceedingly large toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Beautiful Land. 10 It became so large as to engage in war with the army of heaven. Some of that army and some of the stars were thrown down to the earth, and it trampled on them.

11 Ele se tornou grande, tão grande quanto o comandante do exército divino. O holocausto contínuo foi tirado dele, e o lugar de seu santuário foi contaminado. 12 Por causa da sua rebeldia, o exército será entregue ao chifre do bode, e os sacrifícios serão interrompidos. O chifre lançará a verdade por terra, e ele terá êxito no que fizer.

11 It made itself to be as great as the commander of the army. It took away from him the regular burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was polluted. 12 Because of rebellion, the army will be given over to the goat's horn, and the burnt offering will be stopped. The horn will throw truth down to the ground, and it will succeed in what it does.

13 Então, ouvi um anjo falando com outro anjo: "Por quanto tempo durará a visão sobre os holocaustos, o pecado que traz destruição, a entrega do santuário e o exército celestial sendo pisoteado?". 14 Ele me disse: "Durará por duas mil e trezentas noites e manhãs. Depois disso, o santuário será restaurado".

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking and another holy one answering him, "How long will these things last, this vision about the burnt offering, the sin that brings destruction, the handing over of the sanctuary, and heaven's army being trampled on?" 14 He said to me, "It will last for 2,300 evenings and mornings. After that the sanctuary will be restored."

15 Quando eu, Daniel, tive essa visão, tentei compreendê-la. E apareceu diante de mim alguém semelhante a um homem. 16 Eu ouvi a voz do homem falando, da outra margem do rio Ulai. Ele disse: "Gabriel, ajuda esse homem a compreender a visão". 17 Então, ele veio perto de onde eu estava. Quando chegou, eu estava apavorado e prostrado ao chão. Ele me disse: "Compreende, filho do homem, que a visão é do tempo do fim".

15 When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I tried to understand it. Then there stood before me one who looked like a man. 16 I heard a man's voice calling between the banks of the Ulai Canal. He said, "Gabriel, help this man understand the vision." 17 So he came near where I stood. When he came, I was frightened and fell on my face. But he said to me, "Understand, son of man, that the vision is for the time of the end."

18 Quando ele falou comigo, caí em sono profundo com meu rosto no chão. Então, ele me tocou e me fez ficar em pé. 19 Ele disse: "Vê, eu te mostrarei o que acontecerá depois, no tempo da ira, porque a visão se trata do tempo determinado para o fim.

18 When he spoke to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground. Then he touched me and made me stand up. 19 He said, "See, I will make known to you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time for the end.

20 Quanto ao carneiro que viste, o que tinha dois chifres, eles são os reis da Média e da Pérsia. 21 O bode é o rei da Grécia. O grande chifre entre seus olhos é o primeiro rei.

20 As for the ram you saw, the one that had two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 The male goat is the king of Greece. The large horn between his eyes is the first king.

22 A respeito do chifre que foi quebrado no lugar em que outros quatro surgiram, quatro reinos surgirão dessa nação, mas não com seu grande poder. 23 Nos últimos tempos desses reinos, quando os transgressores alcançarem seu limite, um rei com expressão sombria e muito inteligente surgirá.

22 As for the horn that was broken, in the place of which four others arose—four kingdoms will arise from his nation, but not with his great power. 23 At the latter time of those kingdoms, when the transgressors have reached their limit, a grim-faced king, one who is very intelligent, will arise.

24 Seu poder será grande, mas não por seu próprio poder. Ele será incrível naquilo que destrói; ele vai agir e ter sucesso. Ele destruirá pessoas poderosas, pessoas entre os santos. 25 Pela sua astúcia, fará com que o engano prospere sob sua mão. Ele se tornará grande em sua própria mente e irá destruir muitas pessoas inesperadamente. Ele até se levantará contra o Rei dos reis e será quebrado, mas não por qualquer mão humana.

24 His power will be mighty—but not by his own power. He will be amazing in what he destroys; he will act and succeed. He will destroy mighty ones and the holy people. 25 By his craftiness he will make deceit prosper under his hand. He will become great in his own mind. He will unexpectedly destroy many people. He will even rise up against the Prince of princes, and he will be broken, but not by any human hand.

26 A visão a respeito das noites e manhãs é verdade, mas sela a visão, pois se refere a muitos dias no futuro".

26 The vision about the evenings and mornings that has been told is true. But seal up the vision, for it refers to many days in the future."

27 Então, eu, Daniel, desmaiei e fiquei doente por muitos dias; depois me levantei e fui tratar dos negócios do rei. Mas eu estava chocado com a visão e não havia ninguém que a entendesse.

27 Then I, Daniel, was overcome and lay weak for several days. Then I got up, and went about the king's business. But I was astounded by the vision, and there was no one who understood it.
