1 Naquele tempo Abias, filho de Jeroboão, ficou muito doente. 2 Jeroboão disse para sua esposa: "Por favor, levanta-te e disfarça-te, para que não sejas reconhecida como minha esposa, e vá a Siló, porque o profeta Aías está lá; ele disse a meu respeito, dizendo que eu seria rei sobre este povo. 3 Leva contigo dez pães, alguns bolos e uma vasilha de mel e vai até Aías. Ele dirá o que acontecerá com a criança".

1 At that time Abijah son of Jeroboam became very sick. 2 Jeroboam said to his wife, "Please arise and disguise yourself, so you will not be recognized as my wife, and go to Shiloh, because Ahijah the prophet is there; he is the one who spoke about me, saying that I would become king over these people. 3 Take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to Ahijah. He will tell you what will happen to the child."

4 A esposa de Jeroboão fez isso; ela levantou e foi para Siló e entrou na casa de Aías. Entretanto Aías não enxergava; ele perdeu a visão devido a sua idade. 5 Yahweh disse para Aías: "Vê, a mulher de Jeroboão está vindo para consultar-te sobre o filho dela que está doente. Tu lhe falarás assim e assim, porque, quando ela entrar, fingirá ser outra mulher".

4 Jeroboam's wife did so; she left and went to Shiloh and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see; he lost his sight because of old age. 5 Yahweh said to Ahijah, "Look, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to seek advice from you regarding her son, for he is sick. Say such and such to her, because when she comes, she will act as if she were some other woman."

6 Quando Aías ouviu o som dos passos dela entrando pela porta, ele disse: "Entre, mulher de Jeroboão. Por que finges ser outra pessoa que não és? Eu fui enviado a ti com más notícias. 7 Vai, dize a Jeroboão que Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, diz: 'Eu te exaltei entre o povo e te constituí líder sobre o Meu povo, Israel. 8 E resgatei o reino da família de Davi e o dei a ti, mas tu não tens sido como Meu servo Davi, que guardou os Meus mandamentos e Me seguiu de todo o coração, para fazer somente o que era reto aos Meus olhos.

6 When Ahijah heard the sound of her feet as she came in at the door, he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be someone you are not? I have been sent to you with bad news. 7 Go, tell Jeroboam that Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, 'I raised you from among the people to make you the leader over my people Israel. 8 I tore the kingdom away from the family of David and gave it to you, yet you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, to do only what was right in my eyes.

9 Em vez disso, tens feito o mal, pior do que os que foram antes de ti. Fizeste outros deuses e imagens de fundição para provocar-Me a ira, e Me deste as costas. 10 Por isso, trarei desastre à tua família; exterminarei em Israel todo menino, escravo ou livre, e removerei completamente tua família, como alguém que queima estrume, até que desapareça.

9 Instead, you have done evil, more than all who were before you. You have made other gods, and you have cast metal images to provoke me to anger, and have thrust me behind your back. 10 Therefore, look, I will bring disaster on your family; I will cut off from you every male child in Israel, whether slave or free, and will completely remove your family, like someone who burns up dung until it is gone.

11 Qualquer um pertencente a tua família que morrer na cidade será comido pelos cães, e quem morrer no campo, será comido pelos passáros dos céus, porque eu, Yahweh, disse isso'. 12 Então levanta-te, esposa de Jeroboão, e volta para tua casa; quando os teus pés entrarem na cidade, a criança morrerá. 13 Todo o Israel chorará por ele, e o sepultará. Ele é o único da família de Jeroboão que será sepultado, porque, somente nele, da casa de Jeroboão, foi encontrada alguma coisa boa aos olhos de Yahweh, o Deus de Israel.

11 Anyone who belongs to your family who dies in the city will be eaten by dogs, and anyone who dies in the field will be eaten by the birds of the heavens, for I, Yahweh, have said it.' 12 So arise, wife of Jeroboam, and go back to your home; when your feet enter the city, the child Abijah will die. 13 All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only one from Jeroboam's family who will go into a grave, because only in him, out of Jeroboam's house, was anything good found in the sight of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

14 Também Yahweh levantará um rei de Israel, que destruirá a família de Jeroboão, nesse dia. Hoje é este dia, agora mesmo. 15 Porque Yahweh atacará Israel, como se agita a cana nas águas, e Ele arrancará Israel desta boa terra, que deu a seus antepassados. Ele lhes espalhará além do rio Eufrates, pois, eles fizeram postes para Asterote, e provocaram a ira de Yahweh. 16 Ele abandonará Israel por causa dos pecados de Jeroboão; os pecados que ele tem cometido, e, através dos quais ele conduziu Israel a pecar".

14 Also, Yahweh will raise up a king of Israel who will cut off the family of Jeroboam on that day. Today is that day, right now. 15 For Yahweh will attack Israel as a reed is shaken in the water, and he will root up Israel out of this good land that he gave to their ancestors. He will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherah poles and provoked Yahweh to anger. 16 He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, the sins that he has committed, and through which he has led Israel to sin."

17 Então a esposa de Jeroboão levantou-se e partiu, e foi para Tirza. Assim que chegou à entrada da sua casa, o menino morreu. 18 Todo o Israel o enterrou e chorou por ele, conforme a palavra de Yahweh, a qual ele falou por meio de seu servo Aías, o profeta.

17 So Jeroboam's wife arose and left, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of her house, the child died. 18 All Israel buried him and mourned for him, just as it was told to them by the word of Yahweh which he had spoken by his servant Ahijah the prophet.

19 Quanto aos demais assuntos concernentes a Jeroboão, como ele guerreou e como ele reinou, estão escritos no livro da história dos reis de Israel. 20 Jeroboão reinou vinte e dois anos, e, depois, dormiu com seus antepassados, e Nadabe seu filho se tornou rei no seu lugar.

19 As for the other matters concerning Jeroboam, how he waged war and how he reigned, see, they are written in the book of the events of the kings of Israel. 20 Jeroboam reigned twenty-two years and then lay down with his ancestors, and Nadab his son became king in his place.

21 Então Roboão, filho de Salomão, reinou em Judá. Roboão tinha quarenta e um anos quando se tornou rei, e ele reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que Yahweh escolheu, de todas as tribos de Israel, para colocar Seu nome. Sua mãe era Amonita e se chamava Naamá. 22 Judá fez o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh; e, pelos pecados que cometeram, provocaram Seu ciúmes, mais do que fizeram os seus pais.

21 Now Rehoboam son of Solomon was reigning in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city that Yahweh had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel in which to put his name. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite woman. 22 Judah did what was evil in the sight of Yahweh; they provoked him to jealousy with the sins that they committed, more than everything that their fathers had done.

23 Pois também edificaram, por si mesmos, lugares altos, pilares de pedra e postes de Astarote, sobre toda colina alta e debaixo de toda árvore verde. 24 Existiam também prostitutas cultuais na terra. Eles fizeram as mesmas práticas abomináveis, como as outras nações, as quais Yahweh havia expulsado diante do povo de Israel.

23 For they also built for themselves high places, stone pillars, and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree. 24 There were also cultic prostitutes in the land. They did the same despicable practices as the nations that Yahweh had driven out before the people of Israel.

25 No quinto ano do rei Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, veio contra Jerusalém. 26 Ele levou embora as riquezas da casa de Yahweh, e as riquezas da casa do rei. Ele levou todas as coisas embora; ele também levou todos os escudos de ouro, que Salomão tinha feito.

25 It happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. 26 He took away the treasures in the house of Yahweh, and the treasures in the king's house. He took everything away; he also took all the shields of gold that Solomon had made.

27 O rei Roboão fez escudos de bronze no lugar deles, e os entregou nas mãos dos comandantes da guarda que vigiavam as portas da casa do rei. 28 A partir de então, quando o rei entrava na casa de Yahweh, os guardas levavam os escudos; depois os devolviam para dentro da sala da guarda.

27 King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place and entrusted them into the hands of the commanders of the guard, who guarded the doors to the king's house. 28 It happened that whenever the king entered the house of Yahweh, the guards would carry them; then they would bring them back into the guardhouse.

29 Quanto aos demais assuntos referentes a Roboão, e de tudo que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro dos eventos dos reis de Judá? 30 Houve guerra constante entre Roboão e Jeroboão. 31 Então Roboão dormiu com seus antepassados e foi sepultado com eles, na cidade de Davi. O nome da sua mãe era Naamá, a amonita. Abias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

29 As for the other matters concerning Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the events of the kings of Judah? 30 There was constant warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. 31 So Rehoboam lay down with his ancestors and was buried with them in the city of David. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite woman. Abijah his son became king in his place.
